Loots should have more important in role-playing games like DA. I know it's too late, but I would love for the characters to hunt for ingredients and cook food while they're out camping, thus boosting stats. I played several games that did that, and it's pretty fun and give purpose to loots instead of just junks you don't want to keep. I believe it's confirmed that we need to collect stuffs to make certain items like bombs. They could take it a step further and have a bazaar system in which giving certain items to the vendor to receive upgrade weapons and armors similar to how Wade demands drake scale in DAO.

Besides the food aspect, all of that will be in game, with the new customization system we'll be hunting creatures to extinction trying to get certain parts for armor and weapons.

I feel compelled to remind you most games like that are ether rogue-like or true open world. dragon age is nether.
and I prefer ether using my craftsman or making a item myself to bazaars which is really crafting by another name.
