It would prove to be an interesting perspective to see things through the logical eyes of a machine. Maybe an advanced enough machine with learning parameters to pick up on organic emotions and such.
Play as a Synthetic

That would make for a very different experience. I don't think I'd want a main Mass Effect game like that, but some kind of spin-off could be interesting
maybe one where you're playing as several different characters and a synthetic is one of them, but that would be quite a step away from what Bioware usually does. Plus, it wouldn't allow for a lot of varying choices, since most of them are based on emotion. With a true synthetic you wouldn't have Paragon/Renegade or anything resembling that. Which means it would probably have to be a more scripted story line with a more scripted PC.
It's not a bad idea by any stretch, but it doesn't fit with Bioware's style. That's not to say I wouldn't want to see it, just that I find it unlikely ![]()

Kind of like the DA:O DLC where you play as Darkspawn?
Like what Ajensis said, I can see it, but I'd be surprised if Bioware did do that. Not a lot of people like synthetics. People rather play as organics, and especially since we've only played Human looking at the other species' problems and quarrels, it sparked a curiousity where a lot of people would want to play the other species before any one would play a synthetic.

Interesting I could play as a machine "Total logic" or as a woman "Total illogic." (*Runs for his life.*)

Err... no.
I mean, if they want to implement it, all the power to them. But I believe it is a terrible mistake, even worse than making organic aliens playable. This is territory I'd rather they'd stay away from, even if I wouldn't freak out if they did.

A sentient synthetic that looks organic during the time where everyone hates and fears AI's would be a interesting idea for a spin off. It would be better if a theme of the game is that its struggling to accept itself since its creators implanted its with memories that made it think its organic. It would be different from what the geth and edi went through since it has the mind set of a organic from the start but so much so that it adopted a fear of synthetics without it even knowing its true nature which as Javik and Legion pointed out is one of the key differences between organics and synthetics.

Not a bad idea if it is executed correctly. Problem is making sure everyone in the game recognizes you are a synthetic and reacting to you differently than they would an organic. Of course if synthesis was picked in ME 3 than this would be kind of moot.

I think it would work best as a sort of DA:O style intro. You play as a Geth (or new synthetic race) pretending to be an organic to collect information on them. Terminator style, but not really.

I thought we already did that.
