Well I said it before but I'll say it again. My golden ending is hardened Alistair married to Anora, Loghain as archdemon chow, and my warden and hardened Leliana going shoe shopping. ![]()

Drunk Alistair is best.
I do want to see Alistair in Redcliffe with Bann Teagan. I am glad of my choice to recruit Loghain because this choice sounds interesting, especially Act 3 DA3 where Bann Teagan takes him home!

Well with Grey Wardens possibly being controlled by Corypheus, having Alistair in a powerful position like king could be really bad...
With that said, he's a king and married to my female human warden in my canon game. I can't not romance the bastard. In my 2nd canon game, he's with the grey wardens (and still romanced by my female human).

Why everyone shocked when someone say: ,,I make him a wandering drunk!" or ,,I execute him!". With my first character I really wanted to kill him, but I heard rumors he can be a wandering drunk, so I let him alive. Alistair is more better if I play with male, with female he is really annoying. Make him to be King? pfffff never-ever, max. with the Keep, where I just read, don't see... same question with Leliana.... I kill her with my first character and I was happy, really happy :3. After 3-4 I don't hate them anymore, but don't love them too.

I'm just curious if they will delve into the significance of his bloodline/blood. I found that part very interesting, seems like it would tie in quite strongly with what presumably is going to happen in DA:I.
Actually this is rather interesting. The line of Calenhad might have some unusual properties in light of what is hinted as happening with the Grey Wardens in DAI. I'm curious what, if anything, that bloodline will do to Alistair and whether he will have a larger role in that aspect of the game or not because of it.
*Edit* Perhaps he will be the deciding factor of "Do we get the Grey Wardens on the side of the Inquisition" or not depending on what--if anything--his blood will do.
I keep him alive regardless because I love Steve Valentine's acting. But this just reinforced that decision for me.
Be damn funny if everyone who killed him can't get the GW forces or something because of it.

I don't want to see him again, but I don't think he needs to die either. He just doesn't have anything to offer to me except trying to be cute and deflecting everything with humor. I don't see what's so cool with that, unless you're a niche audience.. like a female romancing him. For anyone else, he comes off pretty weak. If I want him happy, I might stick him with the Wardens. He likes them more than I do. I hate the Wardens.
A person after my own heart. I thought he was cute, like a puppy. I romanced him, made him king and married him but... I don't like him very much. That is compounded with the fact I don't like the Wardens and at this point in time I'm super sick of them. I'd be happy to never see them again but eh, it's one of the major lore related points in the games.

My Warden-Commander made his best friend king. In Mass Effect's interactive comic, if you chose Anderson as councillor, Shep says something like "Anderson didn't want the job, which made him the perfect choice. No ambition to get in the way." A King who doesn't want power, can become a grand King. A king who wants power, wants more until he's a tyrant. So, Alistair's a great choice to be king.
Thats not true.
A king who never wanted to be king could become lazy and neglect his duties. Which in turn can make him a very bad king.

The way i always look at it is, Origins requires a sacrifice. Either a life. Or innocence. If you want that 'happy ending' on a romanced Alistair, you have to make that sacrifice. With this romance it's 'try to find what happiness you can while you can before it's gone' since both of you have a limited life span anyway.
Can you explain this sacrifice of innocence? No one was really innocent in all this. And we don't even know if a life actually gets sacrifcied, we only know that both souls leave their bodies and either get blown into the Fade, beyond the Fade, or both blowup but blowing up seems highly unlikely if not completely impossible.

I made Alistair king. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Anora betrayed me for her pos father so it was the best option in my eyes. However, Alistair is a Warden and can't have kids so his reign will be the last of his blood unless Morrigan shows up with the Dark Ritual Baby. I have no idea how the populace will accept that. Probably not lightly unless she makes up some convincing story. Which she probably will. It's not like the public are that informed about the Wardens anyway. I just don't want there to be a civil war about who sits the throne.
