Alistair as King or Grey Warden in Inquisition ?

I really don't understand the Alistair hate.  He's such a bro to you throughout the entire game.  I only allowed that mongrel Loghain to live once just to experience that side of the story, and it felt entirely out of character for my Warden to so randomly and deeply betray Alistair like that.  It made me sick.

 

Anyway, Alistair would be a Grey Warden in my canon universe.  Although my canon Warden was a bit leery of Anora, he felt that there was no other option -- Alistair didn't want to be king, so that was that.

Loghain never actually survives in any of my playthrough's for that very reason, I couldn't do it, those are the times I turn to YouTube...

Alistair's not a "bro". Not universally or anything. This isn't an action adventure game where we're all clones and have the same exact experience. Not every origin is the same, not everyone has the same morals, not everyone enjoys joining the Wardens like he does, and not everyone wants to comfort him about Duncan every other dialogue. Some might not even care about Duncan to begin with.

 

As for Loghain being a mongrel, as far as I know, he's just a Ferelden. If anything, Alistair has a better chance of being one. I keep hearing that Fiona might be his real mother. Not that it matters. I happen to be a "mongrel" myself. Heh. Just saying. Being half elf would be the definition of mongrel.

Alistair is king in four of my eight world-states, so on balance I guess I'm looking forward to King Alistair the most. (The other four consist of one Warden, one wandering drunk and two corpses.)

Yeah, great. It's just some "BSN thing". Characters are to be universally loved.

 

For every criticism I'm leveling at Alistair, I'm saying positive things about others. I don't just relish in hate.

Considering Thedas is on the edge of global war. I wanna see him as king talking through some political aspects. And since he knows little of politics, should prove to be amusing. Not to mention those among you who are his queen, and they said the Warden went Missing, I expect him to be all " I need to find the queen!"

Say what? Picking a fight with who? And on what? I was trying to be nice. He's optional. He's not forced on anyone. I'd be much more critical if he was.

My Warden was the Loghian to Alistair's Maric. Just without the traitor aspect. He'd be lost without my Warden's input..heh.

Cool. I can see that. I don't play a human warden, but I kind of see my rogue Hawke as a Loghain type (except female).

That's another reason why drunk Alistair is best. Pudgy and bad complexion? At least he fits the role. ;)

Got to love the variables of whom is ruling Ferelden and the status of Warden, Alistair and Loghain... all 23 of them.(if talking of those alone along with the ritual choice).

 

Out of those 23 I've got 10 playthroughs lined up. I've got 2 where he is solo King, 1 with the Warden as Princess-Consort, 2 with Anora, 2 where he is a Warden, 1 a drunkard and 2 where he was executed (1 of which involved the Warden being Prince-consort to Anora).

 

So yeah I expect I will see him in different states (or none at all with him dead in 2) in DAI ;)

In my canon worldstate, Anora is sole ruler while Alistair remained unhardened and a Warden. 

he has a lot of flaws but he's one of my favorite characters

I don't hate that dumb fool, he's just a political foe that needs to be killed so my Cousland-Warden can rule with Anora.

Every time I made a romance with him, Alistair stay a Warden. Since I don't like play a human noble, is the only way to have him stay faithful and not became a lowly mistress. (sorry, but I find play a human in DAO boring)

When I played a male character, I let him stay on the throne with Anora.

 

I only hope he know what happened to my Wardens... :crying:
