Here's a post from a few months ago where David Gaider explains the dialog system/wheel situation.

A sticky could be interpreted as someone from BW sanctioning or approving the information in this thread. The aim of collecting "what we know" about DA:I might be useful and even necessary, but at the end of the day it is ultimately a fan project and not something official like the DA website.
If some of the OP is unsourced, or based on outdated quotes, they're hardly going to endorse it by sticking it at the top of the page. It opens them up to all sorts of problems later if anything in the OP is incorrect, or if anything could be taken out of context. A similar thread for ME3 never got a sticky, for example.
Thats a good point actually . Although the OP does try to get the referencing right.
The trouble is though that there are many thread that kep popping up repeating the same old questions over and over again. I have to wonder when the next thread about the activation for it will turn up.
On the other hand people still ask questions about things that are already known about the keep, which is a pinned topic.
I actually agree. If Bioware "stickied" this post, it would be seen as an endorsement of it's content. As I'm not a Bioware employee, I understand why my reporting this information should not be interpreted as "Bioware Approved".
Also, as is mentioned, not everything is sourced. (Although I'm working on it).
Even sourced information can be wrong, remember. The source can be old, and the information outdated and irrelevant. Or the source itself can be outright wrong. Such is life.
[Update]
Added stuff about the different pre-order packages, and clarification on the dialogue wheel(s).
There will be two voices for each gender (one American, one British)
Source for the American/British part?
Yeah that's very true and I think the release date in mainland Europe is the 9th of October (actually I thought that was the Aussie date too but guess not
). I still sigh every time the trailers say fall 2014 because it's fall down here in Aus right now. A small language thing I know but it's true for a whole hemisphere ya know

Edit: the official site says October 9th for Australia and October 10th for New Zealand... I don't understand why they'd be a day apart but apparently we are.
Oh my gosh, I can't believe I'll have to wait a few extra days longer than everyone else, including the Australians. I'll feel so left out. ![]()
That's okay though, OP it's confirmed here, would you mind pretty please adding it to the master post? I wouldn't be bothered but I used to work part-time at an EBgames and got yelled at loads of times for not giving them games because the customers were working on American dates. (WoW expansions were the worst. Nothing scarier than dude bros telling you off for something you can't control.)
All I want to know is the visual differences between the three dialog wheels and whether or not we can tell the difference or will we have to guess based on circumstances. Minor issue, I know, but one that I am actually kind of curious about.

The Warden, The Warden-Commander, and Hawke: The previous three (two and a half?) protagonists may yet play some role in DA:Inquisition, but nothing has been confirmed or denied. Considering their seeming relevance at the end of DA2, it seems likely that they will at least be mentioned. It has been confirmed that the Dragon Age Keep (the import system) does NOT track visual appearance, so that clearly throws some wrench into that.
Aw, really? I put a lot of time and effort into creating my characters, it sucks to not see the faces of the people I created reflected in this game. I assume that just means they'll use the default Hawke and have to create defaults for the Warden/Warden-Commander. That's really disappointing...

I highly doubt they will use a default appearance. They know how attached people get to their Wardens & Hawkes. They are being very mysterious about how it will be handled, so I'm highly curious about this one in particular.

My guess is that it will be extremely indirect. Any sort of direct interaction carries quite a lot of expectations, require quite a lot of effort, and still almost a guarantees disappointment for a large portion of the fan base.
Maybe a letter, or some sort of messenger. A real time conversation? I doubt it.

What i dont understand is why doesnt bioware bring a appearance option in Dragon age keep for let us custom warden and Hawkes appearance if they would appear. Bioware usually has a high ambition level to intergrate difficult details in their games.
So why not do this to allow us see the warden or hawke for that matter, with the appearance we could have choosen i DA keep if it was possible, it would certainly make fans happy regardless of how they felt regarding the characters returning or not.
If it will be a short cameo of 4 minutes it will be enough with the storyine.
Sorry Bioware, But what is so difficult about that?.............

Because it is "hotly requested feature" and probably wont make it in the final game because it is difficult to do. This is not the official answer but i saved you some time.
I think it could be done by making a Character creater program like they did for origins. That way they could allow us to recreate our warden and hawk in that and use a code like they had in ME3 to input it into the keep. That way we can have the look for both stored in the keep for the frostbyte 3 engine of games for dragon age. If they decide to go to a new engine in the future they can just do it again for the new engine.

This is what I want. Let us recreate our Wardens and Hawkes in are image in the Frostbite 3 engine.

I think it would be the best and easiest way for it to happen.
It was covered before in the 'Keep' thread that one of the possible issues with having the Character Creator in the Keep is having to export to five different platforms. That's five different versions of Frostbite.
Since there were issues with importing the codes in the ME series, I don't see them doing that. It should (imo) be less buggy to just use the CC already being built into each platform. That would be something of a spoiler, but so would having it in the Keep.
Someone suggested having the CC pop up ingame when (if) the Warden/Hawke appear; I think that would feel awkward.

The codes were a problem because me2 and me3 had two different engines not because the engines were different on each console/pc. I found the codes for me3 worked on every version of me3 weather it was on pc or ps3 they all came out the same look. As far as spoiler it wouldn't be since it is in the keep and it is supposed to be used for all games from inquisition on. The CC would be a separate program from the keep so we could create the code. Then the keep can store the code we input so the games from inquisition on can use the code if it is needed for the game.

Oh would you drop the dual-wielding dummy spit already sheesh.
Not gonna lie, when I saw the Australian release date as being October 9th I died a little. My head is saying "It's only two days (one when you take the time difference into account)- that's nothing!" but my heart hasn't finished sobbing yet for me to make out anything.
