Yeah.... but "gay" doesn't mean "romance option". He could be in a relationship already, or uninterested in the Inquisitor.

 

I STRONGLY suspect he will be, of course, but I won't add it to the OP until we get confirmation.

I agree that's why I said "if he is a LI than he is a gay LI." I was just saying we now know he won't be a LI for women if he is a LI. Which I also strongly suspect he will be since Bioware said this would have more LI than any other Dragon Age game and that means they need at least 6 LI to beat DA2 which had 5. I doubt though I hate to that Varric will be a LI so that leaves: Cullen, Cassandra, Sera, and Iron Bull(maybe, though really whose doubting at this point). They need at least 2 more and IF Varric isn't one, Cole isn't one and Leliana isn't one than they have Vivienne, Blackwall, Dorian, and Solas. It would make incredible sense to have Dorian be the male gay LI since they have the female gay LI (Sera).

Your predictions are very good. But what about Vivienne? I totally see her being bi. Maybe Scribbles isn't a LI or maybe they'll go straight for 7 LI's? Lol

I feel it will be an even number. If they add Viv (or whichever one was left off), they'll likely add a male. Got several choices: Blackwall, Solas, Varric. (We know already that Cole & Leliana are not an option).

I've been toying with the idea that they'll make all the companions and advisers romancable, who are not directly hindered from being so. It would make it slightly more realistic too, seeing that anyone can be romances by the right person in real life. (Unless of course they're aromatic that is)

We must also take into account the fact that there are race restrictions on certain people as well as gender restrictions. I don't know what those restrictions are but it will factor in who is romanceable by who.

David Gaider: Cassandra and Dorian. Cassandra is Jennifer Helper's left-behind character.

Mary Kirby: Varric and Vivienne

Patrick Weekes: Iron Bull and Cole

Luke Kristjanson: Sera

Sheryl Chee: Blackwall

 

We don't know who wrote Solas yet, and we have no information about the advisers. The only other character we know about is Morrigan, who is being written by David Gaider himself.

I kind of doubt that Cullen is the only straight option for female Inquisitor (wishful thinking?) so I'm not sure I buy into the theory that there will be one of each orientation for both sexes. Not to say that the adviser can't have a good romance, but I prefer companion romances personally. It's like having your best friend with you everywhere you go! That's my kind of romance. Not having that option just sounds like a **** storm waiting to happen.

 

But, maybe I'm mistaken.

Actually, she's NOT an LI. That was confirmed already, and is sourced in the OP.

No, she isn't. The devs have said that they wouldn't make a previous LI an LI in any future games owing both to the writing challenge and the general unpopularity of enabling "cheating"

Wouldn't this mean that Morrigan is also not a potential LI?

 

She's listed as unknown on the first page so I'm just wondering why she's not also a no go if this is the source used for Leliana. I have heard that said before as well so I guess I figured it meant no previous romances would be available which actually I like since it's a new character it would be nice to be seeing new people as well.

Do you have a link to where that was said? My Leliana source only talks about Leliana specifically.

 

I mean, you're probably right. I highly doubt Morrigan will be romance-able. But I have adopted a "source only" policy for new information I add to the OP.

Weird. Yes, the interview got taken down. I think they intended to release it on two different days, and goofed up. It'll probably be back today.
