Wow, look you figured out how it works. They give the MAJORITY what they want.

Err, technically those garrus love things are the "vocal majority," but it's what BW has to work with.

Yeah.. it's nice that they do bother to check out the forums and see what people like.

Out of curiosity, who says that Garrus Romance fans are the majority?

Not me. OP indicated that more people wanted a garrus than samara romance.

Wait... How did they remove customization?

They just added a whole new depth of customization right there... and yet they removed it? Don't tell me selecting between two different models with different stats was considered good customization?

Love interests from the first game carry over. So, if you romanced in ME1, stay true, then it'll continue in ME3, if not a little bit in ME2.

True, but the OPs writing seemed a bit "reactionary" and even said she canceled pre order because of her quick conclusions, which irks some people. So, that tends to start flame wars, one reaction creates another. Just saying that the stuff they changed was complained about.

I can understand why you would be upset that there are no f/f romance options in the game. But surely that is no reason to cancel a pre-order? It is such a minor part of the game... it's not like this is The Sims or something... There is a good chance that in Mass Effect 3 they'll have F/F or even M/M romance options for those that want to out there.

Or who knows, they might even make a DLC for it.

The "vocal majority" are the only ones that matter. Bioware can not act on feedback unless their players voice their opinions. You can't make statistics if no one ever puts in their two cents. Therefore, the "vocal majority" is basically the majority. Though that last part is what you just said Posted Image Just basically saying the vocal majority is the only one that matters really.

Real explanations? This topic has been brought up many times, I doubt he'll waste his timing explaining again. What Casey said is what BioWare approved him to say, so that is the explanation. Doesn't fit everyone's desires, but most games don't. After all, its a sci-fi action/adventure game that is a TPS first, an amazing/compelling story second, and a dating simulator third (if third).

Actually with BW, it may be Story->Game->Romance.... Mostly its just Story->Game and the romances just help with depth...

I wouldn't take that for granted. It's just as likely they continue on their path of regression and remove them in favor of some more grinidng micromanagement like ammo and fuel and mining.

Well... That's a shame then. You can't quickly create another playthrough with Liara I suppose?
At any rate, it's a shame for those that want homosexual relationships... not sure why they scratched them either, but they did - perhaps they didn't find it suiting for the characters or something. We can't help it at this point... But like I said, perhaps DLC.

Can't please everybody, oh well.

Have fun not having fun or loving/liking the game/series. Or whatever it is you're trying to get across. Have fun with your disappointment.

I have to agree with the complaint about the romance options, if what seems to be common wisdom turns out to be true. I already don't understand what people see in Garrus or Tali in the first place. But it's quite sad that BioWare seem to have subjugated themselves to an apparently outspoken circle of people on their forums who demanded these Aliens to be romance options. I don't think that's what the actual majority of players want. It won't hurt sales numbers of course, since the game obviously is much more than just the romances, but still - come on! But since the game's not even released, this complaint can be voiced in more detail later. And it will. Same goes for the apparent removal of other things. For now, let's wait and see.

Though I sympathize with some of the complaints presented (loss of inventory, limited customization etc.), does anyone actually like Mass Effect for it's gameplay? It's basically a bad shooter stuck to crippled, consolized "RPG".

Whats so amazing about ME is the setting, and the all the time and effort Bioware put into it. sure it's a bit derivative, but what in games isn't. As long as all the dialogue, character interactions, and setting are intact, I'm happy.

So the OP is totally wrong on many of his points. Play the game, don't watch the incomplete leaks, and form an opinion for yourself.

Locked.

Uh, ME inventory was more of a hindering annoyance than anything else.  I say good riddance.  Oh, and customization in this game for Sheps armor has been bumped up by a degree of a 10.

Maybe not for your teammates, but it's not like the armors were all that great in the first (except for a handful).
