So in the comics, he's referred to as Arl Teagan. In Masked Empire, he's referred to as Bann Teagan?
Is there a reason for this- or was it just a continuity error?

Could be different continuities?
In Silent Grove he is mentioned as Arl, not sure when that stacks up in time compared to the Masked Empire, havent read the book or checked timelines.

Silent Grove is 9:38
Masked Empire is 9:40
Likely an error. The question is: whose error?
That's the million dollar question ![]()

So, can we assume Eamon is dead by 9:40?
Hmm in MoTa he says he is bann teagan in cut dialogue and quest in da 2 he says he is arl teagan and in one epilogue in dao he can take eamon place as arl of redcliffe.Seems they can't decide who he is.
It doesn't matter what title he has. Teagan is the King of my heart.

I wish, He just abdicated in Teagans favor if he became Chancellor which in the default canon used for the comics etc. He did. He shouldn't be Arl if Eamon isn't Chancellor however.

Gah, this is going to be like the Prince-King Consort thing I can tell, where I keep hearing a different one each time through the game, since the writers wont sit down and decide on one already.

Are you sure it doesn't change based on DAO choices?

Well i imported game where alistair is sole king and in epilogue eamon give teagan arl position eamon stays in denerim and advises alistair still in time when hawke is champion he still says that he is bann.

I just checked it out in the tlk files. in DA2 cut quest, it looks like there's two different lines for Teagan introducing himself. one as "Arl Teagan" and other "Bann Teagan". So looks like that quest was meant to recognize that Teagan could become arl in the DAO epilogue slides.
But in MoTA's tlk, Teagan is always refered to as being a bann. Never arl.

I don't know. However, I'd love to see him in DAI. ![]()

heh nice mess so i guess he is bann as games are rather more certain source than comics and well another thing is cut.
Couldn't that be the Orleasians trying to insult him too?
Like, I'm thinking of how Oberyn had his convo with Tywin and Cersei in this season of GoT at Joffrey's wedding:
"Queen Reg... I mean FORMER Queen Regeant"
I really hope Teagan comes back. Hes one of my favorite NPCs! I think he would be a great benefit for the Inquisition.
The way he handled Drunk Alistair is just awesome. If only theirs RL friends like him in the real world that would do something like that.

Falsely telling him his exile is lifted so as to get him to come home and initiate A civil war for the throne? Yeah sure..I Guess. Personally If my friend tried to press my claim to a throne I didn't want, when it was already secured and the civil war ended with Anora on the throne I'd kind of be pissed off with said friend and think of them as nothing more than A greedy ambitious bastard.
My Prince-Consort Warden likely sent Teagan to Orlais so he didn't have to put up with the guy at court, and if Gaspard ended up killing him My Warden would have sent him a thankyou note =P

What's wrong with starting over? And more important how would it initiate a Civil war for the throne?
He was exiled, Then suddenly Teagan shows up telling him his Exile is lifted. Anora doesn't seem the type to simply change her mind out of the blue about that, or change her mind at all for that matter. Teagan was getting Alistair back to Ferelden for his brother to press Alistairs claim to the throne, it happened in the epilogue slide in origins if he was exiled and Anora is on the throne. Those events are simply that epilogue slide beginning to play out, twas so obvious.

His exile might have been lifted.
Keep in mind that Ferelden monarchs don't have absolute rule. They can and are sometimes overruled by the nobility at the landsmeet. Eamon/Teagan could have potentially marshalled enough support to get Alistair's exile lifted. That doesn't necessarily mean he'd be safe of course. Best keep a look out for Antivan Crows. ![]()
All that said...King Alistair wed to Anora is the best outcome, IMO.
It makes sense to me that he's actually both, since nobles can amass quite a few titles, like how various Warden could become Teyrn of Gwaren, Royal Consort or Bann of the Denerim Alienage at the end of Origins, then Arl of Amaranthine in Awakening.
Even so, you were only ever referred to as an Arl in Awakening, since the title was meant specifically for the Warden-Commander of Ferelden and you were back "on the clock", so to speak.
As for Teagan, he was already Bann of Rainesfere. After becoming the new Arl of Redcliffe when Eamon abdicates/dies, he'd still keep his bannorn in addition to the arling. So yeah, he's an Arl and a Bann... and a complete pimp, but that last one is besides the point!

I'd love to see what Teagan looks like now, with the new engine.
...and I'd like to flirt with him. Maybe my Inquisitor will have more game than my Warden? ![]()

It's freaking Isolde's fault I swear, she also completely clock-bocked Teagan chatting up FemHawke in MotA as well!
I personally subscribe to the theory that he's been sleeping with Isolde behind Eamon's back, as well as Aimo's headcanon that Teagan's secretly a connoisseur of Dwarven erotica and has the largest collection in all of Thedas.
