The first one, my favorite archetype, a spellblade.
This one tries to focus on the ability to cast spells unhindered and the ability to deal decent damage reliably (at least come late game) when not casting.

Note that I haven't reached this point, so everything below is conjecture. Since it doesn't say on the eldritch knight's class page on the wiki, I'm assuming that I won't be getting the wizard's 10th level bonus feat, only that I'll be getting wizard level and spell progression. If I'm wrong, please let me know!

The high dexterity serves two purposes. The first being that the character does not have to invest into armor early on, allowing full use of spells before his good swordsmanship kicks in. The second is that he can simultaneously use it his his "to hit" stat and allow him to take the perfect two weapon fighting feat. The intelligence is required to be at least 19 to cast the high level spells, and since this is already a high stat, I can take combat insight to make it into a damage stat as well.
My main questions: I'm wondering if I can squeeze in 3 feat slots for Automatic: Still spell. Looking at my feat list, it looks like I would have to take out toughness, extend spell, and persistent spell. The trade is that I lose the benefit of constant flame blades in return for essentially two levels of spellcasting, being able to place all my spells in their normal slots without their somatic components. The problem is that I can only take those 3 automatic still spells starting from level 24, where my spellcraft can reach 27 and those feat slots are kinda cluttered with all my weapon specialization stuff. I also want to know if I'm doing this right - Am I missing any feats? Anything important? Mess up on feat requirements?
The second character that I've been messing around with the idea of exists along the same lines, but has a bit of a different flavor that appeals to me. A favored soul of Oghma. Note that this build is purely theory, I haven't even started it yet and I'm unsure of a few things.
Oghma, the god of knowledge, wouldn't stop at simple paladin spells for his favored soul. No, he'd have instinctual knowledge of magic, too. A sorcerer. This build essentially replaces the fighter aspect with the favored soul aspect, changing a lot of how the build works. Eldritch knight is still pretty much required since the character is still going in as a paladin archetype character. The build also takes one level in cleric so that he can use turn undead for the divine might feat, converting his charisma casting stat into additional damage.
Race: Human (no race has a good increase of charisma without being too much of a level displacement)
Initial Stats:
- Strength 16
- Dexterity 12 (for the +1 bonus that full plate armor allows)
- Constitution 16
- Intelligence 8
- Wisdom 8
- Charisma 15
Increase charisma until it hits 18, then dump the other 4 points into strength.
Levels:
1 - Favored Soul(1)
2 - Favored Soul(2)
3 - Favored Soul(3)
4 - Cleric(1)
5 - Sorcerer(1)
6 - Sorcerer(2)
7 - Sorcerer(3)
8 - Sorcerer(4)
9 - Sorcerer(5)
10 - Sorcerer(6)
11 - Eldritch Knight(1)
Essentially, I'll end up as Eldritch Knight 10, Cleric 1, Favored Soul 12, Sorcerer 7. This makes my sorcerer's effective level 16, which barely unlocks level 8 spells, takes advantage of all the favored soul's weapon feats, and almost fully unlocks all of the favored soul's casting ability.
Because I've already chosen Oghma, The weapon is a longsword. The lower dexterity doesn't allow dual wielding, and longswords aren't very good in dual wielding in the first place. This leaves my offhand with a shield.
I've made a few assumptions with this build. Having been granted the favored soul 12's weapon feats, would my epic character be able to take epic weapon focus and epic weapon specialization? Along a similar line, does the free weapon proficiency(martial) feat given to me to equip longswords fit the prerequisite for eldritch knight?
But other than that, I haven't thought much into this build. I have no experience with paladin-esque characters, and I've also not really played a sorcerer. Does anyone have any advice for what I should go for in this build? What feats I might find useful?
Any help with the builds would be appreciated. I feel like I've hit a bit of a wall of inexperience when it comes to closing out these builds. I have lots of experience playing DnD, but all of our campaigns fall apart to real life issues before I even hit level 5, and my nwn2 character just hit level 8 within a day.
