Is Bahak inside Terminus Systems?

Because technically, the Council reinstated Shepard's Spectre status and limited it to Terminus Systems. And I vaguely recall Bahak and Aratoht being in Outer Council Space.

Technicalities such as this are pretty much all lawyers need to hang on to.

Most of Batarian space is in Outer Council territory. Not sure exactly what leg they would have to stand on to try Spectre Shep without the Council being involved. A Shep that refused their reinstatement can easily be tried though since he doesnt have anything to protect him from any legal repercussions regardless of intent during the mission.

Sure is a lot of headcanon.

More of a suggestion of how Spectre Shep could be put on trial. Doesnt mean spit though since yeah, its just something made up to try and explain it.

Hackett mentions the Alliance can't afford the war with Hegemony, not with Reapers knocking at their doors. It's pretty much in everybody's interest to see Shep on trial, mockery as it may be. Well, except maybe Shepard's, but who cares about her opinion anyway? :P

The point being, there is ground to put Shep on trial, Spectre or no. And when politics start to sing, soldiers can't do much about it, be they Spectres or grunts.

Exactly. This is why I assume that the Council had direct involvement in Spectre Shep being put on trial as their supralegal authority would technically give them immunity from the deaths from the Alpha Relay being destroyed. There would be little that the Alliance alone could do without Shepard's cooperation and personally waving his own immunity for the sake of allowing a trial to be held (effectively playing along with the politics).

There is also the fact that Shepard gets reinstated again in the third game, no matter what happened in the second game. This could be seen as another continuity error, but now I wonder... maybe it was just a clever way to show the players her Spectre status was revoked for the needs of trial?

Actually its not an error. If you were reinstated in 2, then you are notified that your status is being upheld. Meaning Shepard is never stripped of their status when put on trial (Hence my belief that the Council was involved in the trial, or Shepard waved his supralegal authority for the entire dog and pony show.

On the other hand, if you refused reinstatement in 2, then you are reinstated without any input on Shepard.

I would say that you could check to see which is true by trying to go into the Spectre office before going to Udina's office, but I dunno if this is the case as I have never imported a save where the reinstatement was refused.

LotSB has you helping Liara track down the Shadow Broker that was mentioned when you helped her on Illium. Considering that Liara was largely absent from ME2, this one is heavily Liara-centric. It's a good mystery adventure, combining differing game types. Takes you from Illium to the SB's lair - the plot is solid, the visuals are fantastic, and if you romanced Liara it's an absolute must as there's some golden content throughout. It's also a pretty large expansion, definitely good value for $$$.

None of the other DLC ever came close to the heights of LotSB or Citadel. Both are fantastic.

Thank you for the answer:) i just started a new playtrough of mass effect 2 because I want to romance miranda and try the citadel dcl with a male shepard so the liara dlc would fitt right in:)

Ha... muddied memories then.

Still, I believe case was made to show that Spectre status doesn't automatically grant you immunity to trial in this case.

Spectres can't be tried. The answer only to the Council, and there is no evidence of this happening. The Alliance can't try Shepard;  the only thing a Spectre can be punished for is treason. Batarians aren't part of the galactic government, and this blowing up the Alpha relay is not treason.

Shepard is also still a member of the Alliance military. If he couldn't answer to them at all then it would be impossible for him to be a member of the Alliance military. It's an awkward situation the game never really deals with adequately. The only possible loophole I can think of is if Spectres are only covered by that full immunity when they're directly on a mission for the Council, and that's only the case in ME1.

Except Spectre's can get involved in any case they like and still maintain their supralegal authority (getting alot of use out of this new term I learned), ie Shooting the Scientist during MIssing Scientists. Shepard straight up tells Toombs that Toombs would get locked up if he shot the Scientist, but he could do it and no one would bat an eyelash cause he's a Spectre.

The Citadel DLC wasn't really that funny, it was light hearted, but I never laughed out loud at any time whilst playing through it. I would have preferred something more serious as well, but oh well, you can't have it all.

I feelt like the mass effect 3 game already was so seriouse (bit to mutch of a morality cake for me at times) So the compleate change of past was reffreshing to me. But i do get its not everybodys taste:) My favorite part of the game has always been the social interactions and comradery som this dlc realy struck the right nerve with me:)

The term is not familiar to me and Google has let me down this time.

This is what made the citadel dlc so amazing to me, that the game stopped beating me over the head with doom and gloom and stopped taking itself so seriously for a little while, that before the final push you could stop and take a breath and say, "hey yeah this is why I like you guys so much." ... at least, that's how i felt.

I loved the citadel dlc because Wrex. Because Grunt. Because Zaeed. Because Javik. Because Traynor. Because "you used me as bait!" Because drunk Tali. Because you never bet against commander shepard. Because "they've got a krogan!" Because "Do I really sound like that?" Because shep saved the Normandy with a toothbrush. Because Glyph. Because space divas. Because shep broke their floor. Because shep killed a hundred guys with a pistol. Because a million other things, but mostly because "the best."

All hail SporkFu! amen ma brother! i agree with you 100% loved when the waren mady shepard fall on her as:)

Supralegal pretty much is a fancy 5 dollar word for "Above the law"

But yeah, far as I am aware, Spectre's pretty much carry that status when they are involved in any case, be it one assigned to them by the Council or one started under their own initiative.

I believe you are right on this. But I'll also drop it here, since I believe we wandered far enough off topic already :)

I enjoyed the Citadel DLC, and I appreciate that it had some content that was slighlty less serious and grim. It was a nice contrast and break from the otherwise very grim and dark and serious ME3.

It is extreamely fun! i was laughing out loud! was not expecting that much humor:) and love all the time you get with your teammates:) I never did pursue the garrus romance option, is it worth wile?

GARRUS ROMANCE IS SO. SO. soo  WORTHWHILE

It starts out so cute and awkward because of Garrus's adorkablness and cluelessness for human "protocols", but the chemistry is out of this world, and the relationship grows into something so gut-wrenchingly heartwarming and sincere.

For me it's amplified by the fact that Garrus is one of the few companions (and FemShep romance options) who has truly remained at Shepard's side since the beginning and showed unwavering support when others abandoned her (cough Kaidan. foolish human)

Reposting my dissenting opinion.

Said moments aren't fitting of the tone or story. I don't mind tender moments with the LI and the idea of letting off some steam, but the humor was unfunny for the most part to me, just irritating and not my style of humor. We didn't really get to see any squadmates 'interact', if you can call it that. I'm not a shipper among the squadmates, but I wanted to see some conflict between, say, Ashley and the former Cerberus crew-members. I prefer things logical to emotional and campy every day of the week. I didn't want the story to go in a light-hearted, fun direction. I wanted it to be serious and grim. I didn't want my Shepard to react to the whole cloning thing as if it was like he found out he had some far-fetched admirer who he was embarrassed about. I wanted to see some legit meta questioning about identity and who and what he is. I didn't want to see the clone and company as far-fetched and silly, I wanted to see them as legitimately dangerous.

Wrex's appearance made no sense (really, most of the ME2 squad's appearance made no sense; the damn story didn't make any sense).

Yeah, I used you as bait. I needed a weapon.

Drunk Tali could get her faceplate punched in. Toilet humor is lame.

The campy stuff was crap.

Granted, I liked a lot of it, but at the same time, I'd sacrifice all the humor for logic and rationality. And have it be grim humor. Black, sardonic, caustic wit.

Getting aid for the Krogan doesnt make sense? Perhaps depending on point of view.

Getting away from all the women that wanted to **** his hips into mush? Makes me wanna quote Zapp Branigan, post a gif, and feel much sympathy.

A glimmer of the game I wanted to play. Humour, action and charcater "fun" time (Grunt as concierge at the door during the party was priceless). Just a shame that after it was over it went back to that depressing cobblers regarded as the official story. :(
