If i remember correctly there is an emote for Kneeling down, right?

What I want to do is make it so you press like CTRL button .. which kneels you down

You then receive a boost to Accuracy on ranged attack or maybe a damage bonus

Anyone know of a mod that does this?.

- or, best way to make this??

i don't get how someone uses an engine with so many tripping stones. why don't you simply use unity? you'll get full access to the code and the toolset is way more powerful than nwn2 could ever be. in the end you won't be able to get all your ideas into neverwinter, and those you'll get in will be patch worked at best. don't get me wrong, i don't want to bad mouth your attempts, but i doubt that this engine is suitable for the kind of mod you want to create.

on topic: i highly doubt that you can script an action to a specific keyboard button. you could create a custom feat which loops the animation and gives you the bonuses. kinda like the defensive stance.

you can also subscribe for 75$/mo, or unreal for 19/mo, or cryengine 10/mo. you can even create a quick prototype in unity free or you could use source's alien swarm as a base to develop it further. besides there are other engines which are free or way more cheaper to afford. imo gamebryo (fallout 3, new vegas) would be a more logical choice for your needs.

yes, nwn is awesome if you want to create an rpg similar to the medieval times with swords and other melee weapons. as soon as it gets to "modern" guns shooting faster than a (cross)bow you can mod as hard as you want, the feeling within the engine will always be kinda wrong. it was never meant to support such gameplay and there's hardly anything you can do about this without access to the source code.

Well, I get the impression that Duke's not looking to create a mod that feels like a FPS, so the speed of the guns firing and the 6-second round delay shouldn't be a millstone around his neck per se.

Duke, for general things, you might want to see how Knights of the Old Republic handled guns and a sci fi setting, since it used a modified Aurora engine, and is a cousin to the NWN2 engine.

It's true that you probably can't map a key to make you kneel, though.  Plenty of ways to make you kneel, including typing a command into the chat box, but not a single key toggle.

no, but imo he tries to create a mod that feels more action oriented, and is centered around gun play and skills to influence the outcome. to achieve this without a clunky feel to it you'll need more open access to the source code to implement such features, if they're not already included - as seen with kotor. within its core it's heavily changed and i doubt that a similar gameplay is doable through the limited* modding capabilities nwn(2) offers.

*compared to sdks on engine level

There are free open source engines as well. But I echo semper, it's a D&D specific rpg engine, too much of a shoe horn job and it will never come close to fitting. Just trying to save you undue effort before you get too far in.

It's probably akin to adapting it to a d20 Modern game; do-able, but the emphasis is probably going to end up being on teamwork and tactics rather than being just a shooter.

yeh the game is going to be Sol-able .. to a point.. but once you get to a certain area, its going to need team work to progress
