Ok so as fans of video games I am shore most of you know how release dates get pushed and switched around all the time. So I am kinda worried about the Oct 7th date. I'm figuring I will take a few days off work when the game comes out since I will just want to get home and play it. But again at this point I just don't trust that the game will arrive on the 7th. So what do you all think? Should I wait to put in for time off or should I trust it?
What do you think the chances of DAI keeping the October 7th realease date?

It already got one, year-long delay already. I'd be very surprised if they delayed it again, and I'd start to think there were pretty big problems with it.
Right.
And it would also be a bad choice facing off against The Witcher 3, now that it's delayed to 2015.

For the reasons previously stated, I think it's highly likely that DA3 will be released on the planned date. Unless something is catastrophically, game-breakingly wrong with the build when they're meant to go gold, I think it's locked down. October is an excellent window for DAI to be in for a number of reasons, and I doubt BioWare and EA will want to hold it over any longer than they already have.

I agree that no major push back is likely. However I would not be surprised if for some reason the 7th changed to like the 20th or something. That seems to happen as well.

I think they will keep the release date for now. They would need to hurry of course, but if it's on schedule they should make it. It would be the perfect timing, just before the witcher 3 is released.

Between the six month ESO online delay and the Witcher 3 delay, lots of people (ok, me) are ravenous for a good western RPG. If Bioware delay after those two did, I think they are the one who would see the most backlash. And beyond that, I think they waited a long while to reveal a release date, so that when they did, it was a date they felt confident they could stick too.

This is not a worry for me. Not interested, wont' get it. Now FA4 if it ever comes out, that I will check into.
I can't say I'm worried about when it comes out, but I can't take off till the 10th so I'll be playing before and after work for a few days.

I don't think it will be pushed back again, not with coming out officially with a trailer and all. It isn't as ambiguous as saying a 'fall 2014' release date, which can easily be twisted and pushed back. But having an actual number to it and how they've already had push backs before with ambiguous dates (2013, 2014ish) there is a lower chance for another.
It would have to be closer to the due date to see if a push back happens, and even then I doubt it would be a very long push back. Games that push back after having a numbered release tends to only do it for a few weeks to a month at best, and it loses hype and interest.
Not that pushing a game back is bad or anything, I'm fine with push backs as long as the product is quality by the end of it, and even though I have zero interest in the Witcher 3 (I played both of them and became very bored because the main character didn't make me care and the side characters as well bored me) it would be trouble for Bioware to attempt going up against them with close release dates.

Lol, Witcher 3 isn't even on my radar.
If I buy it, it'll only be out of morbid curiosity.
Yeah, but you're not everyone. Outside of this forum, plenty of people are looking forward to The Witcher 3... ![]()

Did I say I was everyone?

Regardless releasing the DAI in the same time would be bad for both games.
With the voice over competition, new site, pre orders and all the marketing I don't think a delay is any more an option.

A delay until Christmas would mean they won't be competing with the glut of AAA action games coming out in the fall. And it would make a lot of sense given this is supposed to be Bioware's comeback attempt for the franchise. They really don't need the competition at this point. Releasing next year against TW3 or The Division would be suicide.

So far from what we've seen, bioware has been extremely tight-lipped with everything related to this game. They are doing so because it's the smart choice, because they have a huge base of ravenous fans who will jump at any tidbit of information given. So It's pretty safe to say that if they were in a comfortable enough place to release an actual date, then it more then likely wont be pushed back at all. If it happens, I expect at most it'd be a week, and probably have more to do with problems on the shipping/receiving end then the actual game having issues.
If there is any issues that might cause a push back on release date, I'd more then bet instead of pushing back the date that they'll just have a day one patch to fix the last minute problem.

I only can recommend the whole series. Made me even read the books. Just glorious.

Your loss - and a pretty big one too. And Fallout... geez. Don't get me wrong i love the franchise, but what Bethesda made felt more like a Fallivion than Fallout.
Even new vegas was better.

OP, they wouldn't have announced it with a firm release date if they weren't sure of hitting it.
(Development needs to finish a couple of months earlier to get discs produced and certification from Sony/Microsoft - so they'll actually stop development some time in July or August. Basically, it's only a few months from being completely finished.)
It'll be out October 7.

Watch_Dogs did this. They had the big reveal at E3 and then had to delay the release until this year.

Yeah, but considering what i read in previews before and recently there were/are(?) some issues with the game-mechanics. Feature-overkill so to say and they had to rebalance it in the game.
Well that... and maybe they didn't want to hurt the selling-rate of Black flag by pushing out two AAA-Games shortly after another.
In regards of DAI, i think october 2014 is a realistic date.

The only acceptable date change is 2 weeks prior so as to hit my birthday. ![]()
But yeah, considering how long it took to get the date-date and that it IS an actual date-date, it seems pr solid
