So I posted a similar thread a while ago and got a few good responses. The question was "what would you like to see in Multiplayer for ME4?" and it got me thinking....

Here are some things that I came up with.

1. Similar game mode that ME3 uses (Horde w/ random objectives), but with the added option of a limited number of players that can spawn in specific enemy types and control them. Not something as powerful as an Atlas or Banshee, but maybe a centurion or marauder? No boost to HP/shields, give them the basic abilities that those enemies have and do your best to attack the players.

2. Different game modes. Without actually including PVP, I dont know what this would entail, but it was a big sticking point with alot of people regarding ME3 MP. Maybe something along the lines of a co-op mini-campaign?

3. The ability to build your own character with different race/class options instead of the pre-built sets we already have (with certain limitations of course, no Krogan Infiltrator). This might lead to a deeper level of customization available to players.

3. Actually include PVP. Terrible idea, I know...but there are alot of people that say they want this. Regardless I believe this would destroy alot of the class abilities once people started losing PVP games and whining to the forums that "so-and-so class is OP!".

What do you think? Ideas? Suggestions? Rants?

I still say no to PvP, I dont see it working for this game, and I personally hope they dont do it. Im big on customization so I like that idea. 2 would be like Halo4s spartan ops(a whole different story for 4 players to do), I guess that would be nice but I dont want bioware putting most of their time into something like that because the me3 multiplayer has a few issues that I'd like them to focus on more for a better multiplayer in the next game.
For example, 343 made a beautiful campaign and spartan ops, but when it came to multiplayer it lacked, does it mean they put more time into them I dont know, just my opinion.

yes, I agree with the fixing of the bugs. I still believe that the Bioware team could have done this if they were not pulled away to make ME4

I will actually be okay with PvP IF it is just one of many game modes. I personally think that PvP would be a disaster to balance and doesn't fit the spirit of the franchise but some people out there would consider buying the game just for the PvP part. Don't like the PvP mode? Play the co-op or the horde mode then. The more people are exposed to the Mass Effect franchise, the merrier.

An analogy with the Battlefield franchise: BF3 has 11 game modes (15 if you count the 4 different conquest modes separately) and 7 out of those 11 have very few or no servers running them. For example, there's a game mode called air superiority (DLC only mode) which is more or less team-deathmatch with jets and IIRC there's only one Swedish server that's running this game mode at the moment. So the mode isn't very popular and many have called it "useless" which I agree with partially. It did, however, make a lot of people who like jet combat buy the game and the DLC just to get this game mode, many of those kept playing the game with other modes when the majority of the playerbase moved on from AS. Even though the mode became old and boring quickly, it brought BF3 to the attention of people who otherwise wouldn't have heard of it.

I guess my point is, if a PvP mode helps Bioware sell more games and bring Mass Effect to the attention of more people, why the hell not?

Option to set powers to whatever button I want. Very secondary powers like Blade Armour that to I only press once during a whole match should be set to the right trigger. So that when I have a charge weapon and holding the shot trigger, also on the right side, I can very easily still use my other powers like the net on the Batarian Sentinel. Instead it's on the same side as the button I use to charge the weapon, forcing to either let go of the gamepad with my left hand and quickly slapping the right trigger to net someone. Or hold the shot weapon trigger to charge my weapon with my right hand middle finger and trigger my net power with my right hand index finger totally making holding the gamepad very awkward + way harder to aim weapon with the right analog stick now. It really boggles my mind that such a massive screw up as this slipped by when the BatSent and Kishock were released in the same DLC and basically designed for one another.

That, and option to turn off auto-aim forever and ability to click on a feedback reply that says "thanks for almost completely screwing up the Infiltrator class with the bonehead feature that's not really a feature but a serious bug." I mean, sigh, at times the dam auto aim aims me right at the sky or ground by my feet. What the crap?! These guys have a version without auto aim or exclusively play the PC version to not see what a massive screw up this thing is. And why haven't fans been bringing this topic up to the front page always until it got a fix via a patch. Really wish I were on this forum since the start. As I would of started that topic.

Vehicles would be quite cool.
A whole host of game modes is a must.
I see a premium membership option coming, which is fine...if the game works...Please look at BF4...and learn how NOT to do it!

Add PvP and everything else you said. People will complain about classes, weapons, etc regardless. If people dont like PvP they can simply just choose not to play it

If they want to add a completely separate PVP mode that I don't have to play, that's fine with me.  But I don't want them balancing my PVE characters for PVP.  At least not if ME4 is anything similar to ME3.  PVP balance would completely destroy many of the kits for PVE.

More maps, more weapons, more mods, more abilities, more kits, more enemy types, more challenges.

and no PvP if it's tied in to the PvE portion since it'll end up having PvE guaranteed.

Separate PvP, sure. Coupled with PvE? No. Will kill kits. Wanna shoot stuff as a soldier but that vanguard won't stop charging you? Sorry you can't deal with him right now since there's a krogan in your face and an infiltrator doing cloaked sniper shots at you. GG.

Ahh, vanguards and Krogans.  It sure would be interesting if rag-dolling worked in PVP.  Lash would be especially good.  The view from 50 feet above Jade, never before seen outside of the vanguard glitch.

OP needs a proper avatar

1.  ME4 MP should be awesome

2.  Less blue background.  Interferes with sleep

3.  Less laggy store and user interface.  Very annoying and time wasting

4.  Should have some strong soldiers at beginning.  Wish ARs were also but I'm satisfied with present situation

One of the great things is the background music.  Appropriate and pretty good and also never gets stuck in your head

Keep focus on co-op and lots of different kits.

Optimise net code.

Separate sprint/take cover/activate key.

Add more game modes, enemies and maps. Adding a story flashpoint like mode and shipping an editor would be amazing.

Better interface in game selection, lobby, and within the game.

- Should be able to exclude games-in-progress as options for joining, or better yet, a wave limit.  Dropping me in an early wave might be OK, dropping me in Wave 11 is absurd.  If GIP, player should be presented with the original lobby settings (thus map/enemy might be unknown, but at least you know what classes/difficulty) and given a last chance to set up appropriately so you don't drop in as an overload kit in a party full of biotics etc.

- Even better:  pick several lobbies, display a brief summary (faction/map/difficulty settings, # of players already in ea, their classes/weapons, whether in progress or not) and let one pick which to join.

- When joining a game in progress, the game should drop new players near a player already in the game, preferably one not downed.

- When a player joins a game in progress, it really shouldn't cause a sudden lag burst that can get somebody killed...

- Should display ping  to host in lobby.

- Should be able to filter by maximum ping.

- Should be able to filter by -not- something, like "I'm sick of Giant/Reapers, give me anything else"

- Should have a way outside a match of testing how one's microphone is working, and adjusting gain accordingly and the like.

- Should have a way outside a match to test weapons and kits, e.g. the Spectre office firing range.

- Should be able to communicate using text, since microphones may not be working or not everybody wants to chat.

- Should be able to see another person's build in the lobby, not just what character they're using.

- Should be able to kick when in match, if unanimous by others.

- Consumables should be refunded if a game stops because the host leaves; not like you get the credits, anyway.

- When a player uses voice chat, there should be an on-screen indication of which player is talking.

- Lobby should have a friend-request button.

- Should be able to see teammates' shield/barriers/health.

I want a Krogan expansion pack.

1.  The Rachnii wars.  Fight the many different types of Rachnii soldiers, hordemodes, toxic planets.  'nuff said.

2.  The Krogan Rebellions.  Fight Turians, Salarians, Asari - be part of the height of the Krogan Empire.  B

3.  The Battle of Canrum.  The inevitable fall of the Krogan Rebellion.  Do you have the Blood of Shiagur in your veins?

I'd rather have an ME4 with better SP and no MP at all.

Why? And what does the MP have to do with the SP? Other than sharing some assets and lowering costs.

Personally I would say no to including a PvP mode,  the team coop nature of this game is what made it stand out.
More character customisation - not just with the way they look,  but powers as well.  e.g. if you can use grenades - maybe being able to choose which grenade type to use.
Larger maps with dynamic environments...

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy ME3MP, but I think I would "prefer" a better singleplayer experience without MP rather than subpar SP bundled with MP, and I don't like the idea to tie SP ending with MP activity (they kinda fix it with EC tho).

I can't see why you think removing MP would improve SP. MP more than pays for itself via microtransactions. But having shared assets will allow cheaper production of enemies, animations, models, guns, powers etc The only case I could accept is if you were worried about some powers becoming deprecated, like time dilation effects (personally I hope they get removed) because the gameplay designers decided it wasn't worth it to keep separate copies.

Well, I think the developer team have limited time and budget, if they decide to include MP mode in the game, however small portion the MP may actually be, they still gonna put some efforts into it, like playtesting and bug fix, etc, yet they could have used the time and energy to polish and finetune the SP for a better experience.

Maybe I'm wrong, but there are too few games standing out with both brilliant SP and MP, I would say Halo Combat Evolved, CoD4 and less than 10 games in the whole video game history have achieved this, other games are either focused on SP or MP.
