I'd rather have an ME4 with better SP and no MP at all.

I don't agree with your post, but thanks bringing the shutdown link to my attention.
Too bad they're shutting down BF2142, I liked that game. Hopefully they'll find an alternative to GameSpy.

And BF2 too, EA said in April that they would find a solution for BF2 and 2142, but now they say no "due to technical difficulty", what a letdown.
Last thing you know, the whole EA Online service is not any better than Gamespy, I'd say even worse.
So when the day they shut down the ME3 server finally come...
Hmm, maybe I asked too much for a video game.
Stay out of this forum you madman
Just sayin', we all know the last thing Bioware will do is to release a new ME game with SP only, because EA demands MP.
More modes would be nice like..
-Regular mode (ME3MP)
-Adventure mode (maybe not so silly sounding) in which there's still objectives, but after each objective is done (after x waves) and the enemies are cleared, you advance to another area/map. Maybe if you satisfy certain conditions, you can get a bonus end wave where you can go against a special boss like... a reaper or thresher maw. Or a giant volus.
-Custom mode in which you can pick and choose enemies, like lucky PC players now.
-Armax Arena mode in which you can choose to fight against clones with powers and maybe hangout in an arcade lobby like Castle Arcade with minigames because why not. You can talk to your friends about your N7 adventures like the NPCs do in the game lol.
Hopefully netcode will improve and hopefully they'll add server selections, button customizations, and more kits, weapons, and races.
Looking forward to whatever it is though!
Fix the bugs and give me more maps. Also new faction.
This is pretty much all I need. Also, I really don't want a PVP mode in ME4. Me3's focus on coop struck all the right notes with me, I hope ME4 does the same.
Say they make PLAT difficulty a little harder by disabling the use of medigels, would that work?
would it make you play a more conservative (less aggresive) style knowing that you can't pick yourself up again if you're alone?
just a thought...
Pardon my ranting, but I have a few ideas to throw in.. I cant help but constantly think about how immersive they could make the multiplayer experience of Mass Effect. I've been a die-hard fan since the first game and when I was finally able to play with friends, I fell in love all over again. As the multiplayer progressed, I spent more money than I'm proud to admit on crates for the new amazing characters and whatnot. Just imagine if there were more. Competitive PvP, maybe a little story integration with co op missions or something of the sort.
My idea is that in the multiplayer (and even single player, if at all possible) You could choose a race and build upon their story based on their origin(Like in Dragon Age Origins.) I've been playing Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare recently, and to me it feels like a testing ground for Mass Effect multiplayer concepts. It honestly feels a lot like ME to me (Without the amazing array of character selection and mass effect powers & weapons, of course).. But I digress. The Garden Ops mode is basically the same as the ME3 multiplayer, with a few twists like special rounds and the slot machine boss waves.. And of course, PvP game modes.
I cant get over how much Mass effect would have to offer if the multiplayer were to be expanded. In the ME4 trailer they were talking about how they wanted the help, or rather suggestions, from the community. I hope they meant that, because I could talk all day about what I want in the new Mass Effect.
Oh man, imagine an invasion game mode like in Halo (or Gardens&Graveyards in PvZ) They could even make historical battles from the ME lore into real scenarios in PvP. The one thing that I think PvP gaming needs is more weaving into the story (Kinda like the Infinity and War Games in Halo, or the intrusion and hacking in Watch Dogs.) If you were to ask me, I'd say that EA/Bioware are the best people to make the next big revolution in multiplayer. EA already blew call of duty out of the water with bf3&4(Which reminds me that Battlefront 3 will be phenomenal.) So many doors have been opened with the conclusion of the first trilogy. People in Bioware have to be at least as excited about this as I am. I don't see how they couldn't be.
And another thing. With a game with such magnitude.. Shouldn't they try to jump the gun on games like starbound and all of these space exploration games that are coming out and with crafting and building and stuff? Call it ambitious, but I wouldn't mind it one bit if I could build a stronghold and craft basic survival necessities while using space age technology to mine and build, and even call in a pre made capsule house from your ship to survive on a desolate and dangerous or beautiful and rewarding planet in the middle of nowhere. Perhaps playing as a turian on Starbound has influenced this paragraph, but there are a lot of good things that could come out of this. Stockpiling food and supplies for your crew throughout the galaxy and incorporate survival like in Fallout: New Vegas hardcore mode. Oh, and by the way.. WHAT HAPPENED TO EXPLORATION? I liked driving the Mako in the first one.
It kinda sounds like I'm suggesting this be a survival horror mmo sandbox rpg, but isnt that a good thing? I mean, to the core it would be the mass effect that Bioware is already making.. but the scale of the game calls for things like this. I mean, there's a whole universe. And theres a new generation of consoles with ridiculous capabilities that have yet to be tapped. I'm no game design genius, but I know these things cost money. But as far as I know, the new generation is supposed to be a lot more efficient to the point where these things aren't quite as ridiculously ambitious as they sound, and I'm quite positive this would attract a remarkable amount of people.
I wouldn't mind a pvp option but keep it a separate category.
I've harped on my wished addition, space ship category. Team missions with ships which you customize like you do with gear and consumables and such. This would be in addition to our ground force version of mp.
Also very important to have 'anything but' choices. As in I'm sick of geth and will play any of the other factions but geth this match or any map but condor, or any lobby except one that has a juggy in it.
Fix the bugs and give me more maps. Also new faction.
Yep. That would work for me as well.
And no to PvP. Not a fan and there are plenty of options already on the market for those who prefer PvP.
I just want Warp & Wraith X.
And no lag.
No pvp please, it would be stagger city. Literally almost all the powers in the game stagger and people would break their controllers and stop playing it a few minutes in.
And if you remove the powers then there would be nothing unique about me4 pvp.
1. Add a huge load of weapons, balance them properly.
2. Stick to the coop, keeping core mechanics the same, allow people to purchase individual weapons with credits or actual money.
3. ????
4. Profit
No PvP!
MP is good as it is, just give us more of it (more, maps, enemies, objectives, more interactive and bigger maps) and do some fine tuning like Heavy Weapons, default/random/mixed wave compostions, armor modding, charge up powers, uber kit with default powers for finishing all challenges ...
We need transgender xenosexual synthetic characters
Add in drivable helicopters and armoured vehicles (by both players and enemies), player air drops, enlarge maps, improve AI add in more enemies on the map, more enemy types and its good. Also fix the prime drone incinerate (or whatever stagger attack there will be) to be less tracking
Just make it like ME3MP and slap character/class customization from single-player.
I absolutely agree with people who do not desire pvp in ME universe. My two cents on the topic is completely from experience;
1. The all too common dilemma of "Balancing the game." meaning, more often than not, what happens in PvP affects the PvE to a large extent. It happened in WoW, SWtoR, and many more PvE mmo's that integrate PvP. I understand that ME MP does not share the same paradigm, but no matter how you would like to absorb the concept, ME MP is an MMO.
2. Human Nature. If the thread "Things I've heard PUG's say" is any indication, PvP in every game has always had it's share of clever gamers who will and have exploited mechanics regardless of it's consequences. Missile Glitchers being a prime example.
While you may argue two things, first of which being "the few should not ruin things for the whole," unfortunately, it only takes one person to create a ripple. secondly, EA could milk the cash cow of having a game with fully accessible options. But, I would prefer that the game stay strongly in it's PvE format. The scales would constantly ebb and flow drastically affecting how the ME universe came to be in the first place.
Well, I think the developer team have limited time and budget, if they decide to include MP mode in the game, however small portion the MP may actually be, they still gonna put some efforts into it, like playtesting and bug fix, etc, yet they could have used the time and energy to polish and finetune the SP for a better experience.
Maybe I'm wrong, but there are too few games standing out with both brilliant SP and MP, I would say Halo Combat Evolved, CoD4 and less than 10 games in the whole video game history have achieved this, other games are either focused on SP or MP.
Can't attest to energy but as far as time and money go, that's not how it generally works.
As for my wishes for the next one:
Provided they keep the RNG store, some kind of player-to-player trade system, preferably a dedicated marketplace rather than "Hey, wanna trade?" -conversations in the lobby.
A more customizable difficulty.
Just like ME3, each difficulty consists of its own enemy stats and wave composition, but you would be allowed to mix & match the two as you please.
Hate boss rush but Gold is too easy? Plat. stats + Gold waves.
Love boss rush but you just started out? Bronze stats + Plat. waves.
I would like to see a wide variety of maps, some larger maps (vs what we have now), add 2 or 3 more new "objectives" to the ones we have, maybe up to 5 players on a team. Build on what works for ME3MP: a lot of playable, customizable characters with diverse abilities to spec as you see fit, customizable weapons and lots (lots!) of them, and the team-play dynamics. NO to PVP. And improve the store. Maybe like the SP game. If I want to buy a UR, sell it to me for a gazillion credits vs making me buy a gazillion packs to get it?
I'd love it if they had both MP and PvP. When people are civil, which I'm confident that most of the ME community is, PvP would be soo much fun and very challenging. I know pvp would introduce balancing issues, but I like to believe there can be ways to deal with that without making things too chaotic...
I remember in Guild Wars 1, they made certain skills have slightly different effects/statistics between PvE and PvP, which helped minimize the amount of times they'd have to nerf something or whatnot. But yeah if I had to choose between MP and PvP, MP the way it is now is the better deal.
Evolve has an interesting way of doing PvP. Its four hunters vs one mosnter. They try and hunt it down while the monster eats food to Evolve (level up) to stage 3 when the tables are turned and it starts hunting down the hunters. In fact my avatar is the Kraken which is one of the monsters. However the entire game is built around the concept and I feel doing so is the only way to balance. ME should remain PvE which it does so well.
I would like to see something like flashpoints from SWTOR (4 player missions with a little story and lots of set piece battles). And ship with an editor so players can create their own, eventually the best of these could be added to the official ones.
Don't like PvP personally
