And why?

i'm currently on my 3rd play through, and 1st mage, 1st being a warrior/beserker that i had no idead about,
2nd was a rogue/assasin

rogue/assasin was alot of fun, as was warrior, i'm warming to mage now

i'm asking the DOA community what was thier strangest or funniest race/class combo..

including party members,

Human Warrior.

A elf warrior sounds stupid, and I don't like dwarfs.

I've played just about every combination--though not completely through--and I'm still partial to Human [Archer] Rogues, for reasons lost on even me.

Noble Dwarf Warrior

Dwarves are a proud race. I am most emotionally attached to my dwarf because he has a lot of depth, evil perhaps, but he has a lot of common with myself.

Nineth playthrough..Dalish elf is my fave have to say.  She's a warrior, dual wield. :)  I like how her origins story is different than the rest.   There's things that pop up later on in play, that you don't see in the other Origins, not going to say what as that would be a spoiler, just that it has to do with the friend she/he has right at the start.

sword and board human noble warrior/champion/templar

I like shields and big armors, but I have to say I'm having extreme fun playing a dual wielding assasin rogue, it's a DPS orgasm

duncan's dagger with Aodth, six slots for runes and mobs go down. Fast

I'm really enjoying my freshly minted libertarian human mage.

The other is my City Elf bard...great reason to have a chip on her shoulder.

I shall try arcane warrior/blood mage, but it would have to look like a Warhammer warrior of chaos I guess or somebody straight from Tevinter golden age.

Combinations and their surnames:
Human Noble Rogue (Cousland)
Human Noble Warrior
Dwarf Noble Rogue (Aeducan)
Dwarf Noble Warrior
Dwarf Commoner Rogue (Brosca)
Dwarf Commoner Warrior
Dalish Elf Rogue (Mahariel)
Dalish Elf Warrior
City Elf Rogue (Tabris)
City Elf Warrior
Elf Mage (Surana)
Human Mage (Arnell unless I got it switched up with Elf Mage)

And then of course, there's the female/male options, so 24 possible combinations.

I must say my favourite so far is my first (and I'm currently replaying in prep for Awakening) character, my Shapeshifting Arcane Warrior Elf Mage who belongs to the Libertarian Fraternity. He's pretty good at any task I need him to do (including off-heals and main tanking when/if my main tank happens to fall in battle along with my main healer, but not as a full healer), and I feel most comfortable playing as him. It's easy and most enjoyable for me to role-play as him, and I couldn't be happier with any voice option but his (Elf "Mystical" voice). It's easy for me to feel drawn into the Circle of Magi, and it didn't take any time at all for me to establish (negative) opinions regarding the Templars breathing down our necks; waiting eagerly for a chance to strike so they can satiate their addiction/hunger for lyrium/magic.

Also, I <3 flying circles around my enemies in rather...unique battles as a stinging insect swarm!

I like going as dwarven warriors, both origins are interesting, noble in particular, with a grandmaster dweomer rune, knight commanders plate and spellward, you have 100% spell resistance. Awesome.

City Elf does; the rest (as far as I can tell) don't make distinction in gender.

Dwarf Commoner Rouge, HANDS DOWN.I just said it in another thread, Dwarfs really got the royal treatment in this game. Very very oddly, dwarfs always seem to get allot of posotive attention in all games. From Battle for Middle Earth 2 to Warhammer Online... they always seem to be uber and have the most care put into them.

Human anything. For some reason I get incredibly bored playing a dwarf or elf.

Ah, I love these threads. As much as I try, I can't stop the elven thief (yo 2ed!) in me from creating all my Bioware fantasy characters. I have not tried Ranger yet, but Bard, Assassin and straight thief are my mainstay, and DAO is no different.

I always take high charisma and any bluff/persuade like thing I can. For some reason, I am so smug and happy when I pull of persuade checks. I think that is me wanting to RP elven.

Great thread!
