I think as a male and female you should have several options for body types so you can be as masculine or feminine as you want

A few battle skirts in the armor customization section is hardly a strain on the budget.
I think I see what you mean, but over budget is over budget.
It brings me to a query I think I should throw at the twitter thread though: Would data budget related cuts on the old platforms (X360/PS3) be carried on through the higher-end hardware (PC-PS4-XB1)..? Not specifically related to graphics, but perhaps more along the lines of asset counts. I know in some of the Elder Scrolls games, the PC version actually shipped with more content, Oblivion has an entire Music Track not on the Xb360, and Morrowind had a few armor meshes (Specifically Female armors which kind of ties into this subject) PC exclusive on-disc... Along with some other cool official plugin stuff. (Bitter coast sounds for example)

I think Bioware said the game was being designed more for the next gen consoles. So chances are the cuts will only effect the 360 and PS3.

Yes, agreed!
Lots of people may want a bit more glam, not just the ladies. ![]()
Personally if I had all the options in the world, I'd make my female Inquisitor look less feminine and my male one look more feminine.

Sorry that was just joking around for those that might not of got it.
I know Bioware will do good with their armor in general, they have more respect to women gamers than other companies do.
Heels, I wouldnt like it for either gender. Kilts, skirts wouldnt bother me, as the kilt, my guy then could turn around lift and shake his booty at the Red Knights, taunting them. Till the guy standing next to me gets hit in the backside with an arrow. (Braveheart)
Honestly, I wouldnt wear it, but only for that humor.

(/\ - Best video ever!) I think SWTOR is a great example of armour. It doesn't change design based on gender, as in the armour doesn't suddenly develop massive chest melons.
...yes it does. Not on every piece and thankfully not on the newer cash shop stuff but example:
Anyway, I think mage robes should have a variety of looks with some being revealing and maybe with high heels while others are practical or mysterious. I don't want high heels or boob windows or anything like that on armor though. Heavy armor should be heavy armor and should be extremely protective and practical above all else. (not to say cool filigree or overlays would be unwelcome!) I do like tabards and capes for both genders and I think rogue armor should also have a variety where some are practical leather/scale armors and some are just dashing clothes like Varric and Isabella(but with leggings) in DA2 or better yet like Hook from Once Upon a Time.

Well if those feminine armors are additional to the normal unisex armor fine.
But if my heavy plate ends up looking like something a female FF character would wear I'm gonna be pissed.

Edit: ugh DP let me put something productive hear.
SWTOR annoyed me in how the jedi top looked normal on dudes then became a sports bra on females. Either have it be skimpy on both genders or no. Not this half assed females get skimpy version males are fully dressed BS.

Almost all boots and proper footwear have low heels. Knights need heels for combat on horseback, it's very hard to ride without a heel on your boot. They also give you extra grip and can be good for your balance.NO HEELS AT ALL
Why would you even want to upset your balance in battle ? Bad enough that Vivienne has heels...well you can make a point that mages can get a pass...but for warriors and rogues, NO.

So yeah, heels but not high heels

Wow, a BW game comes out in 2011/12 and still does the bare midriff thing for females? Then again those BW Austin folks are a bit off.

no, just no.
Armor is meant to be serious, and fit for one to die in on the battle field, not for princesses to play in. DA0, and DA2 did a gud job. It would be an insult to war by doing this.... Fashion and high heels... my god, what next, yoga pants instead of leather pants?...Did I speak to soon?

I think battle-gear should be gender neutral, but of course needs to be less bulky for the females.... Formal military attire (for functions) doesn't have to be gender neutral, but those shouldn't be overt. Casual attire I think there should be lots of variety. As feminine or masculine as you want, for both genders.
Mages.... well, it depends what will be their standard look in game. If they're all robe-crazy (i.e., putting protection to the wind), then I can easily see feminine and masculine variants. But if mages actually wear armor, then it should be for function, and thus gender-neutral.

To be fair that fear comes from when that's the ONLY type of armor you got. (Like in BG2 my female sorcs are wearing a robe with a slit up to their waist while my male mages are in normal robes).
BW is far better than most. Jade Empire was skimpy for both genders and it was explained in the lore, DAO had massive plate with no difference between genders (only issue was that damn leather armor) DA2 looks pretty gender neutral as well and ME for Shep at least is pretty much on cue genderwise.
That and there would often never be a male equivalent. Fix those two issues (it's optional and there's male equivalents) and I'm sure a lot of the complaints would vanish.

Agreed. That whole thing is just getting awkward now.

I agree with you but this just made me laugh. It is a video game, after all. If someone wants to run around being a princess on the battlefield then why not. I'd only have a problem with it if that was the ONLY option.
