Mages should probably wear armor similar to a rogue. Light enough to move around, but still protective.
Agreed! None of those stupid robes/dresses anyway! ![]()

I don't know. I don't even think mages wearing that kind of crap makes sense? I mean what if they're shot at from a distance with arrows before they've gotten a protective barrier up. What if they're suddenly attacked by a wolf from behind. Etc.
I hate this enormous clothing difference between mages and rogues/warriors. Like... mages are still in combat.
I thought those were wedges not heels...then again my feet are so large I'm stuck wearing men's footwear anyway D:
Oh I sympathise, I have this problem too and in some shoes that's okay but trying to find a nice pair of boots like the ones above to fit me... so difficult ![]()
And I agree, either skimpy for all or skimpy for none... or options for everyone to wear either, even better ![]()
Okay I'll catch up on the rest of the thread now, I just had to comment on this.
Some people did not understand what I mean to suggest in this topic, In any of my suggestions I never say bikinis or something, please do not criticize or confused before giving your opinion, I put the images are just examples, using your imagination in a logical manner.
some people are looking this topic in vulgar side and was not what I wanted.
1- I never say HIGH heels, I say more heels, nothing fancy and nothing vulgar, is obvious that we do not fight on a catwalk.
2- We must have a notion of reality of course, but people here (mostly men) are really just looking this concept only in female equipment, and if we think only in reality ''how could a man, even a Qunari carrying kg of iron in your body ? if we think only in reality, as we load so heavy items in our inventory without a backpack, or how can a human being carries a two-handed sword so big ? and the mages ... the first shard of any fragment hitting one of your ''clothes'' would have already killed
If any kind of suggestion or any sort of expression of womans, was taken to an ordinary side, then we are really in a world controlled by men!

I wouldn't mind a few options being thrown in, as long as I had the choice to avoid them when they didn't fit with the personality of my character. To each their own, as long as it remains consistent with the DA art style. It would make sense, however, for armor sets with heels greater than those on a combat boot to have a negative stat hit, like -25 dexterity (...so they shouldn't really exist in game >.>).
The armor in Alice in Wonderland, Snow White and the Huntsman, and Elizabeth: The Golden Age were nice and would look great on both male and female characters. The Alice armor is probably the only one of these that really goes the with idea of the OP though, now that I look again.

Im actually already thinking we wont have an issue with outfits. Honestly I think they have this subject well in hand. Sorry to disrupt.
Though I can see a two handed weapon used by different people. Its how long can they handle it. A day, would be too much for anyone in full plate and a giant two handed sword. Question is the weight, normally 30lbs at best for that weapon. Plate armor is for battles only, normally a person is armored up before battle if its heavy weight. The reason light to medium armor or breastplates are used more than full. If I knew an army was preparing, I'd have rogues move behind the lines to sneak attack the heavy infantry just for this fact. Which brings up the light and medium infantry to protect those heavies not ready. When that plate is on, they mean to kill or be killed before lunch, dinner or what not. Then its removed. A different thread I hinted at Cassandra not going to be in plate hundred percent of the time.
Yes, female clothing being rudimentary isnt good nor is a heavy trooper. They would be too tired out.
I know from personal experience few hours in battlegear, weighed down isnt good. Those swords that are not proportionate to size will hinder faster than benefit. Reason I hate those weapons actually, unrealistically, not doable.
Not to be a smartass but greatswords only weighed around 6-8lbs maybe 9-10lbs if you were very large. Are you referring to them when you say the size is unrealistic, because length wise, it actually is pretty accurate. The biggest two handers were around 7ft, the designs of the swords of course are fantasized but regardless from what we've seen in DA:I the two greatswords so far one is pretty realistic to an extent and the other is actually very accurate to the real thing.
Actually, you showed a few circled in red as your suggestion:
The second one is fairly egregious. They are utterly impractical for battle. They severely curtail mobility, are necessarily flimsy, and generally just look stupid (sorry, I'm too busy killing things to care about how long and slender they make your legs look).
Anyway, re: wearing armor... plate armor existed, as did swords that were nearly 2m long. And if you're telling me mages should wear heavy armor, you're preaching to the choir. My mages always gear up in the heaviest stuff they can find.
I circled the pictures just to get an idea, I do not mean that mages wear heavy armor, clear, I think some very beautiful clothes and decorations that make the equipment sometimes mages are nicer than some other classes.
That's why I said in the previous post, we also can not just think in reality ... if we thinking only so in reality, many things would have to change in video games ![]()
As long as there are different options, I don't mind the suggestion put forward by the OP, but heels on fantasy depictions of women are problematic for several reasons, one of them being the long and stupid tradition in fantasy art to depicture warrior women in bikini armour and high heels (or walking on their toes). A little bit of heel is great, especially when riding a horse, but too much heels and it actually becomes dangerous (there's a high risk of getting stuck with your foot in the stirrup if you fall off, which may cause you to get dragged behind the horse with fatal consequences). For reference, this article talks about proper boots for horseback riding. 1 inch heels are quite enough.
Edit: Also, the 1-inch heel must be broad, absolute not sharp and pointed as in the reference pictures posted in the thread.

I understand, just did not want to be taken as a bad side.

I don't have any problem with the illustrations posted, in fact I like armour that fits a female body better, if you think that armour should really be made to measure...it would fit properly, I also don't have a problem with it looking pretty or feminine, but I would like to add a rather large and emphatic NO to heels...followed by NO NO NO, NOT EVER...

After watching RWBY again, I thought this would fit here:

Well, now this feels... weird. My male PCs made a habit of wearing chainmail miniskirts. What does that mean?
As for breast-molds on plate armor, I've always hated those. It seems like it could be potentially lethal to its wearer.

I just noticed whats-her-face from the latest episode of Game of Thrones wearing boobie plate armor!! Wtf. I thought this crap was mostly just found in video games. ![]()

Yeah.
I was so happy with Brienne's armor for so long that I had forgotten she wasn't the norm. She's wearing "proper" armor to, what, show that she isn't exactly female? Whereas I think ALL humans engaging in combat should be wearing her type of armor.
