I just discovered this video I wonder how many of you have seen it and what's your opinion on this?

The video is a bit long but I guarantee that it's worth it. Now the editing is not godlike but still, it's the thought that counts.

I personally enjoyed the video myself. It actually made me feel better about the Mass Effect 3 ending the only thing i disliked though was the salarian going rogue and the crew going their separate ways, but still waaaay better than what we really got...

All credits goes to Arch-21 (9 Dragons)

I wanted the ending where my Shepard is thought dead by the galaxy at large, while he is found, resuscitated, and brought back to health by Miranda and a team of ex-Cerberus agents who would lay the groundwork for the new Cerberus-like group in the galaxy that Shepard and Miranda would be forming, with the purpose of getting a monopoly on Reaper tech and giving humanity a special advantage while becoming the hidden puppet controller behind the alliance and new galactic government to forward his own agenda. Eventually, we'll hit a point where the singularity is once again possible and it will be enacted with separate means than that of the Catalyst. People like Petrovsky, ex-Cerberus agents and scientists, and the Shadow Broker network (brought under Shepard's control after removing Liara) would be the framework for this organization. They do have external, alien agents as well.

Ashley is dead

Kaidan is dead

Garrus is dead

Tali is dead

Wrex is on Tuchanka with a renewed Genophage having been released that works progressively slower.

Liara is back to her life as an Archaeologist. She is unaware that Shepard is alive.

Miranda is Shepard's partner and significant other.

Jacob and his wife are both members of their organization.

Mordin is dead.

Grunt is on Tuchanka as well.

Jack is dead.

Samara is back to her life as a Justicar.

Morinth is dead.

Thane is dead.

Legion is dead.

Kasumi is occasionally involved with Shepard's organization, but otherwise doing her thing.

Zaeed is in semi-retirement, though still contracting for Shepard's organization.

James is advancing in his career, while being mentored by Shepard. His knowledge of Shepard's activities is kept limited. James is told that Shepard is working deep undercover in a Spectre mission over 'illegally used Reaper tech'.

EDI is dead.

Javik is presumed dead.

I wanted to have a ending with Kaiden alive at my bed side awaiting for me to reawaken after a huge resurrection by Miranda. But I was presumed dead by the people at large but only the Council knew I was live and reinstated me as a specter under a new name. Alexandra Alnkeo. Or Sarai Valkerin was born ahah.

I enjoyed it admittedly. Sometimes the talking got a little long and one could ask how they had all that time to talk crap.

I also didn't romance Tali in my cannon playthrough.

Still it was fun and entertaining to watch and I'm sure the creator put a lot of effort into it. They also did an excessive amount of patting themselves and eachother on the back, and flattering, ass-kissing.

Still, being a ME fan I tend to enjoy ME fan-fiction a lot.

No, that is a really crusty ending, almost as bad as the one we got

I freely admit I wanted a full-blown KotOR 1/A New Hope Ending, with Shepard in his (what, I play manshep) dress blues and a big celebration. Alternatively, a Book Ends ending with Shepard stepping on the Normandy CIC with Joker saying "all systems are green, we are running silent" and a cut to Normandy jumping to FTL. Or a combination of the above. There is nothing wrong with happy endings.

There is also nothing wrong with bittersweet or ambiguous endings, but they generally have to be Cowboy Bebop good in order to be satisfying.

As for downer endings, well, in my opinion they either should be optional, a result of a really bad playthrough. Downer endings as default only work in certain types of stories. Two examples of downer endings that work that spring to mind are Bonnie and Clyde and Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid.

I don't quite follow why he bothered working the IT stuff in, or why the Normandy boards the Citadel only to have nothing change. And what's Legion doing there?

I think that the reason why the crew came looking for Shepard was that they can't left him behind because friends don't do that. Shepard had always helped them so now they thought that they could help him in return. I also think that Legion is there because it's not nice that he would have died. Because he is a geth then it could be possible that there is a backup somewhere. Maybe the person who made the video liked Legion too much and that's why she/he wanted him to be alive in a video.

My point was that he's making up a big delay in having the Crucible fire just to have the crew accomplish nothing. And he should have made up his mind about whether Legion was alive or dead.

I wasn't clear about the IT stuff; he wants to have Destroy without the bad consequences, so the Catalyst has to be lying. But why not just cut the whole sequence?

Ahahahahahah! :D

I'm sorry, I just started watching the video in the OP, and while it's a great effort (as an effort), it really is, it also happens to be unintentionally hilarious because of the way it's cut and then put together from various dialogue lines from the games. At times it sounds just like this video:

EDIT: Blaaaarghahahahah, the guys in Blood Dragon Armor dropping that... sphere, I guess? What are they supposed to be, anyway? :D

It has its moments, but how it's put together makes it a parody, and some ideas in it are the corniest pieces of crap since the invention of corn. I lost it at Primarch Vakarian.

It puts me in mind of Malkavian mod for the original Deus Ex - "you vill be vorking vith Agent Ohange!"

Despite that, yeah, still a better ending.

My preference leans more toward the DA:O type of ending, where the basic outcome of the main conflict is the same, and the differences lie in the influence you've had on the other groups and individuals you've encountered along the way. It certainly keeps things simple if the devs ever planned to move forward in the franchise, and a singular ending would get rid of what I felt to be the most troublesome piece of design in the entire game to me: the decision chamber. On that same note I would have gotten rid of the Collector Base decision as well. There's no point to having such a decision since its existence or lack thereof cannot get significant treatment in the overarching narrative.

I had to watch the beginning of the video again. The crew reprograms the crucible so that it only destroys reapers. I was also wrong. The Legion is not really a Legion. It's some other geth who just uses Legion's platform. Yes the IT sequence didn't make much sense. I could only think that there had to be something like that so that Shepard gets in the crucible without reapers intervening him. Because I don't see why would they just bring crucible near earth and let Shepard in knowing that there is a weapon which can destroy them.

Well, I'm one of those 10% of ME fans who actually liked the original ending so I don't really need this.

Very choppy.  But has the right idea.

Shepard's friends and allies, working together to stop the Reapers?  Characters choosing their fate?  Sacrifices having a point besides "for teh DRAMAZ!"?  Perish the thought!

It was funny fanfiction. It's not a solution for an ending however.

Still it was fun to watch. It's also nice that he got the war assets work a little extra.

Apparently, the real Legion was Dead.
