Alan, please tell me you haven't gone and joined the Accounting department...
Heh. Nah, but he ain't always wrong.

Further proof you'll never please everyone.
No, but if the ending went like that, I probably would gnaw my own arm off in an attempt to escape.

.....I think I like the EC Destroy ending far better.
My only wish is for "Here's a Health to the Company" to be played during the credits with a montage corresponding to the Lyrics.
I only stated what I see as an ideal ending.
That said, no, I think that ending sucks. I don't want to see a 'happy ending' in the conventional sense.

Heh - well if you truly enjoy bleak then there's always the ending to Blakes 7 :-) Infamous for that peroiod in UK Sci-Fi for "ruining the Christmas of '81".
I will stick with the destroy ending.
I kinda wanted/want a glorious battle with all the united races coming together, with actual tactics and traps and special actions based on all those war assets you recovered.
Anti-matter mine fields, Leviathan indoctrination turning Reapers against other Reapers, Salarian stealth dreadnoughts, Krogan commandos, thanix cannons, etc.
The Biotic God above me has a pretty solid idea. And frankly, like a lot of people, I was vaguely expecting THE SUICIDE MISSION FROM HELL.
But what we got was a little more abstract and a heckuva lot less detailed. That being said, it works for me. I respect it may not work for everyone,
Not sure exactly where else to put this, but I figured this was as good a place as any.
OK. . so. . I have a question about the ending.
I'm assuming I don't need to add spoiler warnings here. .anyway. Right at the end, the AI gives me three choices as for what to do to solve the reaper issue. The problem is. . there appear to be two different control points with which to access and make your final choice, but they DON'T FREAKING SAY which choice it is! So I choose one and then I'm watching the ending with absolutely no idea if I amalgamated with the reapers or synthesized organic and synthetic life or what. Does anyone know? Which is which?
That actually gave me cancer.

Grabbing an electrical conduit is control, jumping into the beam in synthesis, and shooting the tube is destroy.
Though I must say, all of these seem like ways the Star Brat could use to convince Shepard to kill herself on accident.
Replayed the ending and figured it out. It just went over my head the first time. Thanks, though.
P.S. Sorry about that, Eterna. I'm sure you'll survive.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Ashley sucks. definitely not watching that.
and never use the word "everybody" when you don't have the data to back it up. my ideal ending wouldn't much different to the Destroy one, except that I'd include either the recovery of Shepard's body or a rescue of Shepard & reunite him with his partner.
I would simply add to the ending, not change it.

Don't worry. The ending is broken.
BioWare's Vogon poetry.
Nah, we already got Bioware's Vogon poetry. Twice ![]()
This, while still rough around the edges and definitely needing some work (No, Shepard's survival shouldn't be dependant on owning a 10 DLC) feels like a vast improvement. I csee it as a first draft to something that has real potential
I'll take this corn over the red blue and green road apples we were given any day ![]()
I sort-of-watched about the first half of this while doing other things at the computer. I'm not sure I quite followed what was going on in between the Catalyst disappearing and the Crucible firing.
To be fair, it's attempting something incredibly difficult -- using existing visuals and dialogue from the games and "repurposing" them to show things that are fairly far afield from anything that happens in the games, e.g. Garrus becoming Primarch. I did something similar back in the pre-EC days, but I just used visuals and music and added subtitles with MovieMaker for dialogue. Trying to patch together existing dialogue to match what was happening on-screen probably would have driven me nuts.
My assumption is that the epilogue is variable, and this one only reflects the tastes of the video maker
.
Regardless of whether or not this is a variable ending, it's still a load of crap. It's nothing but cheeeese
I wasn't bothered about Tali being LI. I was bothered how Ashley behaves in the end. She tries to hit on Shepard after years have passed since the war and Shepard is married with Tali. I think Ashley should know that because Shepard is a legend so why not move on?
About the video. I do believe Archengeia on youtube has an ending made and it is just damned good, for so many reasons. But truth be told i do not mind the original ending so much, atleast not with extended cut. I feel all the characters get their due and you can make choices that will save your friends, which i always wanted. It is often why i do not romance Garrus, because i know he will find Tali and i can make that future for them. A future for Wrex and Eve, Edi and Joker. All i have to do is give myself and it will happen. I like the hero endings, the self sacrifice for the many.
What i cannot tolerate about the ending is the damn starchild, catalyst, AI created by the leviathans, god etc. You don't introduce a new character in the last 5 minutes, in any sort of fiction really and atleast not at the end of a trilogy. Plus it made the Reapers seem unimportant, and both Sovereign and Harbinger didn't seem like tools/slaves. When you meet the Starchild it kind of seems all you did was for naught, and that is a bad feeling to have. What i wanted the most was just to be able to beat the Reapers with the force i'd gathered, it would be long and brutal, but we would pull it off as a united galaxy.
I guess most people wanted that, but the ending still makes me feel, makes me tear up from time to time. And with the Citadel dlc Mass Effect 3 just becomes something else, you get resolution before you meet certain doom. Beautiful.
