This has been touched on a little in some recent posts, but I wanted to get some more specific answers from the pros out there:

I think most people on this forum (including me) would consider ME MP the best co-op MP game ever made. But what's the competition? Or put another way--if someone loves this game and wants a similar experience, what other co-op's should they check out?

For example I'd like to hear some opinions/comparisons on things like Gears of War (which one has the best Horde Mode?), Borderlands 2 (4 player co-op any good vs. ME?), Uncharted (co-op or only PvP?), any of the Halos have a good co-op?, World of Tanks, Warframe, Red Dead Redemption (Friendly Mode...although there's always a douche that thinks its hilarious to shoot your horse). What else is out there?

...and no, ME4 is not a valid answer...yet.

That scrub boogi3 couldn't do that, he was too busy getting wrecked since it was PvP.

 

I was unstoppable with Oddjob, but tried to let other people use him more to give them a fighting chance.

 

 

Edit: Also, on topic. ME3 is my #1, more so due to the friends made than anything. Borderlands is probably my #2, Gears of War #3 since their horde mode was awesome + co-op campaign. Of course, I am pretty limited on the co-op games I have really enjoyed anyways.

don't have enough experience with multi-player to make a list or anything

and even though I played with more people in ME3 MP, Borderlands 1&2 were both better MP co-op games than ME3

better matchmaking, more diverse gameplay, more diverse weaponry, less buggy, fewer connection problems

Demon's Souls and Dark Souls are both better co-op games that are recent. I haven't played Dark Souls II yet, but I'm sure its up there, too.

Similar games? Well that's why Mass Effect is so popular, now isn't it?

I play ME3MP only because I love the ME series, and I can't get enough from the singleplayer.

But is it "Best co-op game"?

Nope. Borderlands, L4D and at least 10 other co-op games can easily kick ME3MP's *ss.

I have to admit that I've never played another co-op game, nor owned one with a co-op campaign. I wasn't even going to touch the ME3 multiplayer until I decided to give it a go and got hooked. Maybe if Dragon Age Inquisition has a multiplayer I might be keen on that.

Clearly you must try Warframe, i think it beat ME3 coop in my eyes, its very close in term of gameplay except you can jump and its more story driven.

 

P.s. Its made by the mind behind Unreal (all except UT3) aka Digital Extreme.
