Gears of war for having a beast of a horde mode.

I really can't see ME 3 as the best coop in my list. Best in coop for me would be an extremely difficult horde mode that only teamwork can overcome. Like gears. Now that chit is hard and therefore the best imo

Honorable mention:
Super Contra

I forgot Contra. That was a fun game back in the day.

Golden Eye was a good one from the college days. Drinking shooting each other, dog cussing the scrub that picked OP Oddjob as a character.

Networked Warcraft III. A friend was an IT guy at a university ao we did some late night gaming there. Good times, bad language and sheer horror when I pulled out the Tauren Cheiftan for a player's first time (no one ever wanted to play The Hoard)

Red Dead and L4D are at the top of my list. I have high hopes for Destiny co-op mode.

Glad to see Gears getting some love. I played the campaigns in I and II and loved them but haven't gotten around to III or MP yet. A couple of questions:

- Does Gears III have the best Horde Mode? I read somewhere that Judgement MP was weak so assume Gears III is the best, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

- To play Horde in Gears are you restricted to your friends list to build a team or can you play with randoms in a public lobby like ME3 (assuming enough peeps still play it). i.e. Is Gears PUGable?

IMO, Gears III has the best horde mode. Gears II was probably harder, but it had a lot of exploits. I just like the appearance of the lambent and bosses in Gears III more too. You CAN play with randoms and unlike Mass Effect, there's actually a chance of playing with decent pugs who actually know what they're doing! What a concept right!?

It's still pretty busy and finding a game on Xbox is actually quicker than filling up a lobby if you're hosting in ME3. But if you want to consistently complete waves 1 to 50 in a row (it takes an hour or two), you'd better find some friends you can play with and communicate on mics, because it helps in the later waves. The good thing is, if you wipe, you get the option to just restart the wave and quitting at any time doesn't count as a wipe if you quit between waves.

Basically:

Gears III horde mode>>>>>>>>>Gears II horde mode>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>ME3 horde mode

Left 4 Dead 1/2 for sure.

Those games were all I played for a long time, really enjoyed it but it got repetitive after like 4 years of the same thing, still play it occasionally though.

I also really like the Assassin's Creed Multiplayer, it's interesting and nothing really compares to it.

First mention of Assassin's Creed. The upcoming Unity has four player co-op and the co-op trailer shown at E3 looks good, so that might be worth checking out for people that like both ME3 MP & the Ass Creed series.

Holy shiz. I went to sign up and it kept telling me I wasn't qualified. I then reapplied but told it I was 29 instead of 40 and it accepted my application. Ageism is real.

My vote for undisputed heavy weight champion of any MP game:

- But is was still fun and very frustrating even when you were getting your a** kicked

- Great interactive environments where you bounce off, grab, destroy, run up, get in or use just about anything. They had a shift of location change or mini game event in the middle of the stage

- Great cast of unique characters that din't have any balancing issues

- The items, of my God the items. I think something like 120 different items to aid(or hamper) your characters

I still play this game to this day and it's a crime it hasn't been ported in all its glory. If it was even on XLB I'd pay $100...Im not kidding

Honorable mentions:

Gear 2/3 Horde mode: Gears 3 Horde is MP perfection but just punishes you if you're not playing with friends. This is pure co-op, there's no way to do it without teamwork

Borderlands 2: The arenas were pure MP chaos as much as the game was but I don't differentiate between the 2. BL2 is a husk if you're not playing with friends.

Diablo 3(I only played 3): Was spectacular and I can't air to get back in there with my Witch Doctor. Again I played this game solo at first and it's a different beast with other players.

CoD Nazi Zombies is an awesome co-op game. Kino Der Toten is my personal favorite map

ME3MP is the best coop... more for the potential range of builds than anything else.

That said, ALL should try SYNDICATE!  It's a shame it didn't have more maps, characters.
