My computer crashed and stayed that way for a while so I am curious. if they said how it will work.
It's been a while since I was on here but did they ever confirm imports?

Will that include if you're playing on a 360, or will it just import games like it did in the past?

There are no imports, just the keep.

Thanks guy and gals. I was pretty sure it was just the keep but I wanted to be sure so I would know if I should make more imports

The Dragon Age Keep will allow you to create your canon world (the decisions you made, didn't made...actions that determined your playthrough) and it will also be able to be uploaded to your Inquisition through a cloud database. So, its not pointless to be creating your playthroughs.

I had strategies planned and everything for different histories! I guess I'll just input those decisions into the Keep now...

I know we won't be able to import the saves directly, but I've still played through (and am still playing through) multible playthroughs regardless because if I just use the keep to change decisions it'd feel like 'cheating' to me, hahah. Plus, I think actually playing through the game with the different decisions and everything is not only fun but will also make it easier to then go through the keep and pick the decisions you made with your characters.

When did Bioware announce there will be no imported saves from one's own play-through of DA:O/DA2 and that The Keep will only be used in DA:I? If true, please provide a link, because I will stop playing DA:O and DA2 now as I wanted to start another complete run with all of the DLC so I can make my own import.

I don't want to say yes but yes.

I'm not sure if there's a link, but at least with new-gen consoles, since there's no backwards compatibility, it would be literally impossible to import anything. I can say that for sure.

What would be the point of the Dragon Age Keep if they do decide to do imports?

A choice, my choice? Either way, I've seen no announcement otherwise and in Mark Darrah's blog post late Aug. last year, he made it clear that DA player will be able to import their saves into DA:I. If this changed, I have not heard it. Although this interview with Cameron Lee la few weeks back with Ausgamers.com makes it seem unlikely to happen, it's not confirmed that transfer won't be part of DA:I. I personally would be saddened by this if it is only The Keep. I did sign up for the beta of The Keep to get a gist of if it will transfer choices I made or if some are left out.

I think you import your save games into Dragon Age Keep, the Keep tallies the choices, then you use the Keep on Inquisition.

This^ would be more plausible.

How would that work for Next-Gen consoles?
I'm pretty sure I heard it would be like the ME generator.

You'll need Internet access. The game will probably have a connection to the Keep built in it.

I wonder how it works on PC. Do we put the save file in our documents folder or something...

but if I'm playing on an x1 with my saves on a 360???? what does internet have to do with accessing something from my other hard drive that is literally inaccessible for me?
unless you're saying you sign on Keep on the 360, add it there and then repeat on the X1??
idk unless you've done that in the beta, I doubt it'll be like that

Backwards compatibility has nothing to do with the data transfer as games are coded specifically to play on certain platforms. e.g. An OG Xbox game could be played on the XB360 through backwards compatibility. It really is up to the developer whether they want to make the saves transferable, hardware platform be darned. I think the sticking point is the amount of data, along with the variances it would have to calculate through so many of the choices so many gamers made through DA:O and DA2; I can definitely see that being a difficult task to accomplish in all honesty.
Having said this, I am not against The Keep, it may be the right way to go to thwart a backlash of criticism from data transfer issues when the game is released. I will be against it if it has limitations to the choices I made in the previous games where I was allowed to make them as they worked with the ME series. Unfortunately for the ME series, the ending of ME3 made all of my ME experience a moot point. I hope DA:I doesn't do this.
