A way Shapeshifting can work in the future.

I know they already announced the specializations for mage in DA:I, but this morning I was thinking about Shapeshifting and it hit me. What if instead of just turning into different creatures and fighting the whole fight as those aniumals, what if you used Shapeshifting to be a better mage. For example, turning into a crow and flying to the back or if a melee enemy is targeting you you can turn into a spider (for example) and maul him with one really strong attack and then turn back to normal and this causes the enemy to go target somebody else. Maybe even just turning into a creature, but you will only be that creature for like 30 seconds but your damage will be doubled so you will do alot of damage in that 30 seconds. This might be pushing it, but maybe as a final shapeshifting ability you could turn into a dragon for 30 seconds and rain fire on the enemies from above. This will probably not help much for this game, but perhaps it will for a DLC or future games. What do you guys think? Could this work? Is there any other abilities you'd like to add?

The only problem I really felt there was with the shapeshifting is the stat scaling was a bit slow.If they could have patched that, it would have been a lot better.

I think it's an interesting concept but it would work better for a Final Fantasy style game.  As far as Dragon Age goes, I'd like to keep the traditional BioWare style of shapeshifting.

well, I always felt the problem with shapshifting was that its completely worthless...  the mage does so much more damage in human form, and being weaker(health-wise) is never really a problem for me. So making them activated abilities rather then sustained sounds like a good idea. But ya the dragon thing is really pushing it....
