Hello, is there any documentation of how the visual effects in NWN2 are structured? A friend of my is working on a new engine for NWN and wants to recreate visual effects based on NWN2 so it will be compatible. Can you point me to some informations about this? Couldnt googled anything.

I'm not sure what you are asking. Are you wanting to be able to use nwn2 vfx directly?

There's a couple of tutorials floating around. That's about it, I think. Most of the time I just look at one of the existing effects in the Visual Effects editor and see how they did it. The editor could definitely use a more comprehensive guide.

Im looking for a deep explanation of the file structure, not how to create a visual effect in that plugin that comes with NWN2.
Something like this. But this is missing the NWN2 formats....

The various VFX files are just XML ASCII text, which you can view for yourself if you've got NWN2. It's how the game engine interprets the code that determines the visual effects - which is of course hidden in the unseen realm known as 'Hardcoding'.
