edit: changed title to reflect direction of the thread

If you want to request a specific piece of custom content, you can do it here. There's no guarantees that anyone will make what you are requesting, but your request might catch someone's fancy  :D  .

Hellfire mentioned this today:

If you can take screenshots, you can do this!

There are no guarantees you'll get any particular creature, or anything at all. You'll get what HF feels like making, if anything.

At worst he can't and we get a visual index of all the critters out of it.

Does this include stock critters or custom only.

The quote says he may be willing to reskin stock, but if you wanted to include custom in an "index" I'm sure people would find the reference useful.

Hmm, if you want to pass this on, there's a possibly simple creature edit that could be done.  In using the RWS Sahuagin creatures, I found that there are resources included for them to have a leather helm, but they don't actually have one.

Also, I wonder if you'd ask him about the floating female that we'd been negotiating about.  He hasn't answered my PM since the forum changeover, and I'd like to know if I should give up on it permanently.

I haven't forgotten about the female skel. I have been busy lately and just got back from vacation in Mexico.

as far as the leather helm goes, I thought i had them all working, I might have left something out, they should have a couple helms to choose from

I'm surprised there's anything left to reskin, given my efforts over the years. :)

Bonebat
Brown Dragon
Gorilla
Red Dracolich
Shadow Dragon
Dogs/wolves/coyotes/foxes
Sheep
Gem Scarab
Alchemical Golem
Tintable Water Elemental

I've also got a mountain troll (reskinned troll), green dragons (tintable white dragon with a new head, see below), and troll hounds (reskinned worg) in a module I'm currently working. I've also been tinkering with a flameskull and an orcwort with wortlings (reskinned orcs). I created a few darfellans years ago (three male, three female), but got distracted and never managed to finish them.

Flame skull was easy I made one for the community project that never happened courtesy of chaos wielder

I started out trying to use the demi-lich creature model, but its lack of hand nodes meant that any magic missiles it cast originated from the lower-left corner of the area (coordinates 0,0). So I cloned the invisible human body to match the skeleton creature naming conventions, leaving a disembodied skull floating in the air but providing hand nodes for the spell effects to originate from. Then all it needed was a green flame effect applied only to the head.

It can be an annoyingly persistent opponent if you don't have any holy water or dispelling spells handy, as it keeps getting up again after one hour of game time (ie. two minutes).

I saw grotbag1 wishing he had a camel for his Tales of the Whispering Sands desert campaign, although they would probably be useful for any desert-based module. But that would require a new model, alas. :)

Wait a minute! What are those frog creatures? They would make great slaadi!

Hellfire: I double-checked just now to be sure, in a new module with the rws_creature_conversion attached, and pulled up the sahuagin, kobold, and lizardfolk appearances.  None of them had the grass headdress as pictured, and the sahuagin did not have the gold-coloured helm. The hak includes textures for the gold-coloured helm, but no mesh.

The kuo-toas, however, have both of the helms pictured.

Loki: If you're referring to the bottom two pictures, those are kuo-toas.

If you know someone who can do skeletons, I have proper slaadi models.

Kamal,

I can't see the screenshot with HF on either of my machines for some reason (shows broken link): can you summarize?

Folks, Kamal's slaadi models look *good.*  I tried to figure out how to put it onto the troll skeleton, but... I'm not DannJ.  Total fail on my end. If somebody with more competence than me could pick that up, it'd be a great addition.

Basically Hellfire is asking for a catalog of all the stock NWN2 creatures, a picture of every NWN2 stock creatures (Front view) so he can see what might be easily reskinned.

And I also have a large number of creatures and alternate NPC body types that look good, are fully textured, and can work with NWN2 if someone could rig them to a skeleton, or if I knew how to do it myself with the tools at my disposal.

Here you go, its in word but I could pdf it I think.

I have not put in any humans (npc's etc) nor have included multiple blueprints of the same critter (summoned blue dragon and blue dragon for instance).

It took me a few critters to get my stroll on with snip and many have been scaled.

If you need more then shout.

I think perhaps we need to beg DannJ for another one of his tutorials, maybe "okay, you have a slaadi, and a troll skeleton. Nothing seems to fit.  How to make work?"

I'd happily do this for folks if I could get over the learning curve, but so far I've been pure fail.

I'm not aware that I've ever actually created a tutorial.

Neither do I have any 3D modelling software, so assigning skeletons to models is beyond me at the moment. I'm deliberately avoiding learning any new modelling software, since I used to create player models for Heretic II years ago, and I ended up wasting *a lot* of time doing it. :)

Most of my customisation efforts are either simple reskins, or based around model VFX.

If someone knows how to assign skeletons to models or is willing to learn, I have 5-10 creature models ready to go, minus their skeletons. Such as the Green Slaad shown below.

Rygel XVI has really let himself go. :D

It appears to have a similar body shape to the Paeliryon in MoW.

Here's a brief list of some of the blueprints I've created by tinting existing models. New skins (or the occasional new head) would probably have made them look even better.

  • Troll: spectral troll, forest troll, marine scrag, astral stalker
  • Goblin: redcap, tasloi
  • Grey Orc: hobgoblin
  • Wild Elf: sea elf
  • Deep Gnome: xvart
  • Fire Newt: troglodyte
  • Yuan-ti Abomination: sarrukh, fire salamander
  • Githyanki Female: banshee
  • Githyanki Male: harssaf
  • Dire Boar: razor boar

I'm surprised that a bestiary was never created as part of the game's release. I can see how valuable it would be for quickly comparing existing models to other Monster Manual entries, either for tinting/reskinning or for finding existing skeletons to animate new models with.

Looks nice! I could add the skeleton and some animations.
