The Risen Hero Demo Material contains a tintable ice mephit. With suitable effects and templates, it could perhaps be used to make a number of other Mephit forms. See here for example.

More 2DA trickery. Now my skeletons have all the human armour accessories, and access to tiefling hairstyles (primarily for the horns).

It's been interesting playing Storm of Zehir with this version of appearance.2DA. All the skeletons are showing the accessories for the armour they're wearing. The skeletal legionaires look like they're wearing similar armour to that worn by the Luskan soldiers.

Those look great Tchos, it will be good to have some non-urchin children.

I was also adding new heads, hair and clothes to the kids. Here are two sisters:

The neck is obviously missing, and the arms would clearly be better with more faces.

And get rid of the ah, early adult chest as they seem a bit too young for that. *cough*
Nice work, however. ![]()

Lumi children without the glow. ![]()
The one on the left with pale porcelain-like skin and white eyes would make a nice creepy doll golem if scaled down. And yes - the heads need to be bigger (gnome-like proportions for very young children). Those could pass for young teenagers though.

Here's my attempt at creating a Spectre using visual effects:

As usual it looks better in action than in a screenshot. I tried to give it a pale glow using the Lighting effect, but it doesn't seem to work in game even though it works great in the toolset. Does anybody know how to make that function work?

I had good results on a previous PW using the ethereal effect. They're not fully translucent like above, but they tend to look pretty good. I use those for wraiths.

Pale glow as in it actually emits light?
Yes. In the toolset the Lighting visual effect can be pinned to a body part, and it then highlights parts of the body to nice effect. But this doesn't work in the game.

The fx_ethereal isn't all that different from what I'm doing; it's a combination of texture skins, alpha transparency, and a particle emitter.

There is a 'ghost glow' effect that turns creatures green and translucent, with glowing green eyes and green vapour writhing about them. I altered it to remove the texture swap though, as it was ruining any transparent sections of the creature texture (like the fin down the back of dragons). Some of the 'pers' SEFs don't look to bad either.
If I want a creature to give off light, I find it easier to equip an appropriate ring on them (ring of cyan, ring of crimson, etc).

I tried that, but ring lights don't self-illuminate, apparently. Or at least there are no shadows cast.
Applying a glow map didn't work either.

Its a very simple matter to edit said effect rather than settle for it. Not hard at all.

Okay, I think I've achieved something close to the effect I was going for by pumping up the emission rate to 80 and tweaking the look a bit. It produces a fuzzy, shifting glow effect.

@4760 - One of our devs (Xndar) took a look, it looks good. Only a couple of small points. Feet are a bit big, and the run animation is a bit awkward.
Also Xndar reported the green slaad looks awesome
Loki, any other comments (I guess it's been used in game?)
I can resize the feet, but the animation is the one from the troll, so I can't change it (except redoing it all from scratch, as I still haven't found a way to import animation files in max...)

Yup, in game now. No other comments at this time.
