Very nice work rjshae, that one looks like it came with the game as-is!

Well it pretty much did; all I added was a copy of the back side, mirrored it, and lined it up.
Anyway, here are four extracted models in case anybody wants to use them.
I figured that was what you did. Still looks really nice. ![]()
Has anyone come across a nice fat tree model that could be a central town square object?
I am think of a really thick, not too twisty trunk. Possibly one that is cut out with a door kind of like a Koebler elf deal.
There are some trees at TF3DM that could work I guess.
Some are for "personal use", but others (like oak v9 and oak v10) have a "commercial use" license, so you can do what you want with them.
Well, I think one of them is still useable:

The characters are Guyven (from the OC, halfling I think) and the Valsharess (drow), to give an idea of the scale.
Below are views from farther:

I downloaded two others that have the right authorizations for use in NWN2, and which have a big enough trunk for a hole/door.
WOW
Why don't you throw in a new building at the same time, just to tease us a little more ![]()

That tree has got to be using a ton of mesh faces for all those branches. Hopefully the model came with LoD.
Not this one! I was able to reduce the number of faces to slightly more than 4,000.
Unfortunately that was the case of the other two I tried (more than 2 million faces for the leaves!).
I also found two more with less than 150 faces, but that's because they're two-dimensional (nice for viewing from far, but not as a placeable).
Anyway, I added some leaves to the texture and a walkmesh:

So a door can be added (but it probably has to be created first: stock doors don't really fit!):

Perhaps it might work better with a separate door frame placeable that blends organically with the tree base? But that could also work with a scaled up speedtree.

The smaller branches are 2 dimensional from what I can tell, and conventions.
Is there anyway this tree could become twice as fat in the trunk but not change the overall?
But don't speedtrees fade when you get closer?
There's a Fade option with the blueprint.
Yes for the smaller branches. The smaller branches are 2 dimensional from what I can tell, and conventions.

If that tree was exactly the same but maybe the trunk thickness tripled (even if tapering starts near the top) then it would be good for me.
Actually scratch that, the whole thing could triple in the X and Y axis, maybe even the Z, as long as the leaves and little things stayed the same. I really need a fat building sized trunk radius. However if the branches are huge and arching over midtown, that would be just fine.
I am looking for a true landmark for the central gathering area.
And here we go:

To give an idea of the scale, I put Bevil between the smaller trees at the foreground (left of the central farm) and in front of the big tree at the right.
The big tree at the left is 3 times bigger than the tree before it, except for the leaves and twigs which have the same size.
The big tree at the right is also 3 times bigger, but it's the same tree as the front one scaled (3;3;3).
Below a closer view of the leaves:

Bevil is not easy to see, here's a closer screenshot:

And while I was at it, I also added tint maps:

You'll also need an ox-drawn rake to collect all the leaves every autumn...
we set them on fire
