Now that we've got a good selection of creature images to browse (over 130 so far), I've been inspired to try reskinning some of them.

It includes an old one I did years ago (the bonebat), as well as two 'new' ones; a flesh golem and a hyena.

 

 

Inspired by the above, the Winter Treant. I can't seem to set it up as a simple armor alternative like the above, this example is an overriding texture. DannJ what needs to be done to make it an alternative?

Most creature models are named something like xxxx_cl_body01.mdb. If you clone it as xxxx_cl_body02.mdb, then it'll show up as option 1 in the cloth armour variants (the default is cloth option zero).

 

I've currently got the hyena using the gnoll sound set, but I'm hoping to find a WAV file of a creepy hyena 'laughing' sound on one of the free sound sites. I'll try adding it to the gnoll sound set as a battle cry, since it'd be good to hear it coming from gnolls as well.

 

 

EDIT: I added hyena sounds as battle cries 2 and 3 to the gnoll sound set. Awesomeness ensued. :)

Arid Slum Houses: built from packed dirt, not even adobe, and whatever sunworn wood can be scrounged up.

Placeables with appearance CityBDock,Good2 and CityBDock,Good3. These appearances have models but there don't seem to be stock blueprints for them. I couldn't find the hidden resources thread...

Raising them to check for bottoms, I discovered most of them were hidden below ground

Variants of the sunken ruins placeables are easy to produce. The texture file for them is simple and they mostly have a single model part, so changing the texturing is quick and easy.

Bookcases (the scattered books are a "bookcase" in the toolset: (the one in the back row with the vase had a model but no 2da entry, so it is hidden content. Middle row right was so dark in the stock game it was pretty useless.)

The bookcases with the swirl design on top all use the same texture, so making some alternate versions would be simple enough. Plus I'm tired of the same ol' bookcases everywhere, variety would be nice. What would people like to see in terms of alternate texture bookcases? Different designs on top? Different materials?

The NWN Drow tileset had a different style of bookcase that might be worth porting. There's also this. Perhaps a bronze/copper/steel bookcase for scholarly dwarves dwelling deep underground?

Any particular colors or color combinations people want to see from the glowing potions placeables? If not, I'm thinking ROY G BIV plus white, we already have green...

Any particular colors or color combinations people want to see from the glowing potions placeables? If not, I'm thinking ROY G BIV plus white, we already have green...

 

Yellow, cyan, magenta, and some fleshy goo/psychoreactive slime.

Not all the bookcase models are set for the alternate textures yet, but here are the test models. This should probably cover a good variety of settings. If someone wants different textures, I'd replace the "light wood with stock detail" version, as that could always be set up as an override of the stock game texture.

 

Bookcase retextures, original at bottom, then light wood with original detailing, plain wood, rusted metal, smooth stone, light wood with alternate texture (flowery, good for elves/nature):

That geometry looks like it was made to take an open book-like texture on top, for the large bookshelf, and perhaps a sideways scroll-like texture for the smaller one.
