I was a Solider but I don't know.

Can some shed light with their opinions please? I'm very interested in the Vangaurd but I don't know.

The more biotics, the better. Go for the vanguard.

like many said, soldier is the most formal of the combat classes and plays the most like a shooter would. vanguard is the risk taker of the classes this time around, unless you're mindful of what you're doing and where you are it'll be real easy to find yourself in over your head

Imma play both. The only reason imma play the soldier first is because of the collector assault rifle.

I'd say soldier if you want to play more like a slow moving bull dozer. You're not gonna kill enemies quickly but they don't have a snow ball's chance in heck of stopping you.



Vanguard I'd say is like a glass cannon with a teleporter. When you get close to enemies, they're as good as dead but you break easily.

I'd choose vanguard almost completely for the awesomeness of his biotic rush thingy. It reminds me of those twins from the Matrix.



But a soldier gets a slow-time effect, and man, I had TONS of fun on that mission in MW2 where you're breaching the hostage-filled room on the oil rig, and time slows. I did that once, and was immediately like, "I HAVE to do that AGAIN!" But then again, they are just basically shooter characters, and there are other games that have better shooting.

man I'm stuck between these two as well... I really want to use the sniper rifle and the lmg... but i really wanna give the revamped biotics and charge a go too... I think.... i think.... I think I will just have to load up the game and play through the tutorial section with both to decide... What a long 3 & 1/2 days this is indeed.

See I'm on the fance i might do soldier because yeah I'm gun crazy. But vanguard looks fun and with them adding SMGs very tempting.

Play twice. Once as a soldier and then as a vanguard.

I'll definitely do both, I have a 57 level soldier I'll be importing and level 60 VG. In fact the only class I won't be importing is a sentinel so I'll probably just have that be my ME2 made character. Anyway, from I've seen soldier looks a lot less like a tank in ME2 than it was in ME1. Sentinel seems to be the new tank so if you're looking to soak up damage you might want to reconsider the soldier class.

What's the point in having a weapon if you can't use it...

You can learn to use the AR with advanced weapon training later in the game.

Ok, that's good to know, my original ME1 soldier is in the digital abyss somewhere, so I'm not locked into anything.

Maybe I'll go with the rapier instead of the bludgeon the first time out and go VG.

As long as I get to use my Collector bangstick later on...
