The elven religion is based on racial supremacism, and the desire to create a racially pure utopia. Tevinter is the capital letters Evil Empire . They're not presented as potential protagonists. They're not presented as a justifiable moral alternative. The game isn't about the Tevinters being right.
If the Dalish are right, then the game is simply about the KKK's view of isolation and race being completely justified, only we have the world elf and human instead of black and white. That's obscene.
How is the religion based on supremacism o.O It has nothing to do with other races. You might say the Dalish are supremacists, but the Creators are nowhere near close. Remember, elves had Thedas all to themselves, the very notion of racial superiority is irrelevant when there is pretty much one race on the surface. They might have been prejudiced or hostile against primitive humans, thats true. But I don't agree with your comparison with KKK. Like, seriously, the elves are an adaptive race. They lost their homeland twice, and their "genes" accommodate to whoever they mate with. It is implied they are a race of a different kind, so isolationism might actually be healthy for them (although I dont agree with isolationism). Elves have already lost their immortality, if they had it in the first place, so there is no more point in isolation in present-day Thedas. We will have to see if Inquisition gives us a bit more insight into the ancients to understand where the writers are going with all of that. If the ancients were even worse than Tevinter then fair enough - I will be very disappointed, but some people might find it interesting and refreshing (non-elven players, of course, all these elf-hating roleplayers).
