Will Companions Have Casual Clothes?

I've been asking for casual clothes options for the Quizzy in the Feedback section, but it just occurred to me that companions might walk around the Keep in their armor. Do you guys think they'll get casual outfits like in ME, when we were on the Normandy, or will it be like previous DA games where they wore their armor all the time? Because it bugs me from a role-playing perspective that none of these people feel safe or comfortable enough to be in my presence or home without a full suit of metal on. I'm hoping they wear something different just while we're at home base.

Thoughts?

I would love to see them appear in more casual wear in the Keep, Camps, and main hubs

It was kind of funny in DA2 that I would always be in my house PJs after Act 1 and Anders was still just as feathered as ever standing around upstairs. Like, you've lived here for years, dude, take off your coat and sit down a while.

I loved how Kaidan and James were in no armor at all and Ashley and Liara were in armor that can also function as casual clothes, so I'd love the followers wearing casual stuff.

I'm not sure Solas can get more casual. ;)

That said, I kinda hope so, at least for the heavy armor wearing companions. That stuff has to get uncomfortable after a while!

Grey Warden: I loose my balance when I'm not in my armour, it's unnatural to me.

Inquisitor: You can loose your balance over me any day ~<3

He'd be walking around in his skivvies if he did

I haven't played through ME but I would enjoy more casual clothes in the DA games.  It'd be fun to see what the companions wear when they're off duty and it could help "humanize" them (or whatever word used in regards to an elf/dwarf/qunari).  They need to take that armor off to clean it from time to time anyway, especially since my keep will be off limits to smelly companions.  I'm looking at you, Mr. Chili Dog.

I'd be really interested in finding out what Vivienne's "casual" clothes would look like. I feel like there would be feathers.

Casual clothing sounds like fun in non-combat situations. And what sounds like even more fun is having access to different options of casual clothing and customizing it. Hey - I can kill dragons, demons, and darkspawn easily. But I like fashion too. ;)

Definitely feathers. Probably a velvet robe trimmed in iridescent plumage.

Best prank: switch her wardrobe with Solas', and see if she comes to confront you while naked, or if she actually deigns to wear his comfy comfy long johns, with the seat flap and built in footies.

I'd like it if its like DAO where stuff like chantry robes and noble outfits could be found and put on anyone you want.

I don't know if you're much of a Buffy fan, but there is an episode where a guy REALLY pisses off a very powerful witch, so she hunted him down, tied him to a tree, skinned him alive, and then destroyed what was left. That's what would happen to you if you if you switched out Vivienne's clothes.

Well, I can see characters like Solas and Vivienne wearing the same things on and off the battlefield, but I was talking more about Cassandra and the Gray Warden and whatnot. They are definitely wearing full armor into battle, and I'd like to see them able to relax every once and a while.

Cassandra I would like to see wearing her armor around the keep for, say, the first third or so of the game. Girl's tense and upright, she's less likely to join the pajama party. Grey Warden I can see being more chill.

My Inquisitor needs to have an animation of walking in and closing the door via throwing her shed armor at it before she gets comfy.

HA! That is...yes. I can see it all quite clearly, thank you.

Best prank is actually worst prank, survival wise.

On a more serious note, I really do want the companions to dress down around the keeps (less so at camp). I tend to headcanon Hawke's crew in civvies quite a bit, especially when she's just running around Kirkwall, turning in quests and selling off piles of junk. It just feels normal

Yeah. There was one cutscene in the chantry where Aveline was in her prologue clothes hanging out and talking politics with Sebastian. I would have loved to have seen more of that. I would have killed for a game of Wicked Grace with all the companions and Donnic.

Depending on their characterization.  I would imagine someone like Cassandra would choose to be in armor with her weapons all the time whereas someone like Varric would have "rest" clothes.

She doesnt wear her armor hundred percent of the time but Cassandra would most likely be found wearing it. Id like to see them in casual clothing myself.

I agree with both of these statements, and in the case of Solas for example perhaps his regular garments could double as casual clothing? I think it would make sense for some of the more less armor cladded characters to have cloths that double as casual wear but I'd love to see Grey Warden and Cass wearing something more comfortable at times.

The only companions that seems to be wearing real armor are Cassandra and the Grey Warden. Everyone else is like in cloth or leathery cloth. Varric has some alternate appearance with shoulderpads and breastplate but he is still wearing his coat there, they just have to disable the extra pieces when in the keep.

So beside our two heavy plate warriors, Cassandra sleep in her armor in DotS (in the Seeker keep room), I get the feeling she doesn't care about the "comfort at home" concept. This leave the Grey Warden dude really.

Nope. They'd go about the keep naked and maintain the place clean. Wouldn't want to give them more work by washing their dirty rags.

Cassandra in a dress.

Bullshit! (Sorry I had to)
