where would a dalish learn ballroom?

Really? Come on, it's obvious that in their young adultdhood the dalquisitor had a runaway city elf join their clan. They became friends and the city elf, a former royal servant, took the dalquisitor off into the woods to teach them how to dance in a verdant field far away from the rest of the clan. They danced and their relationship grew into romance until one day the keeper decided to investigate the two dissapearing elves. The keeper found the two in the woods and was appaled. The keeper told the two to remember the ancient elven culture never dance those shemlen dances again.

The city elf soon disappeared in the woods, the clan clearly making them and their dance feel unwelcome. The dalquisitor vowed they would never love another that couldn't dance like the manic pixie dream city elf.

I mean really how is that romance movie plot not obvious.

I'd like my companions and I to reenact select scenes from Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo while at the Orlesian Ball. Or maybe just form a hip hop dance group and compete in increasingly difficult dance-offs against other teams (i.e. Team Dalish, Team Darkspawn, etc...)

Iron Bull can hold the boom box. But we'll call him "Iron B."

This is something I've thought about, actually. I want REAL dancing, not this absurd wiggling that has replaced dancing for modern society.

I want this ball to be a seriously memorable event.

I wouldn't mind some actual ball room dancing... actually i think it should necessary for our Inquisitor to take part in it in order to help win over the Orlesians, damn Orlesians.

Couldn't help but ending up with "Dancing queen" in my head before any more serious ideas could happen.

As long as the dancing is better than Shepard's then i suppose i'm quite alright with it. Just make it appropriate to whatever scene it's happening in

I expect the option to do a "Shepard" dance for the lols at least but I expect the Inquisitor should at least know how to do some ballroom dances or at least learned how to do them before the ball.

Non combat skill tree dancing. Only way to get Orlesian alliance in dance battle.

I must admit I'm slightly disappointed with this thread. All these dancing gifs and no one threw the inquisitor helmet over some one's face? Hm.

I'm also surprised no one has thrown in Kevin Bacon in footloose for dancing. Unless I missed it in a posted YouTube video, skipped over those.

P.S. The Carlton dance has my vote :)

I really like how these videos were shot. It would make for a cool concept with the Inquisitor and the party.

I want them to stand at the top of the ballroom's stairs and everyone to go really quiet and watch them because the Inquisitor is all famous. And then I want them to proudly start walking down the stairs only to trip and fall on their face.

Sadly, this would be me in real life.  I always hold on to the handrail when going downstairs.   I'd like my inquisitor to be a little less klutzy than me, but this is funny.

I kind of hope for the 'classical ball' style event, with masks suitable for the Orlesian nobility. Hopefully it will cause a little stir as a non-human, and hopefully we can take at least one companion/advisor, similar to ME3's Citadel dlc. Then we'll go socialise with the rich and powerful, and maybe get a better idea of the political machinations. Maybe how you deal with them could make nobles (or even servants/guards) more sympathetic and helpful with your cause.

A choice of a couple of different outfits would be lovely too, since femShep's Citadel party dress looked like a tight bin-liner, and femHawke's MotA outfit was some kind of lumpy mess on her torso.

If a couple of other companions are assigned to some other duty (infiltration, observation, etc), that could also be interesting.

Despite the 'classical' dancing though, it'd be funny if suddenly everyone breaks out into a popular new dance at some point... which just happens to be Shepard's dance. Or if there was one random Emile-de-Launcet-style noble dancing alway like a fool in the corner.

And we can have singing to.

DAO did that. They had Leliana sing some elven ballad.

I wouldn't mind her singing again in DA:I. She is a bard after all. Though if she sings this time around, I hope they give her a medieval French ballad. Some of those could serve as Orlesian.

Yes please. Though I imagine my inquisitor would end up like this.
