THIS IS EXCITING.
In an unusual turn of events (not really), I will be mostly spending this evening glued to my PC making noises of glee. I hope.

Ten hours until EA's press conference. I'll be at work for a lot of that, but I should be able to make it back in time for the Microsoft and EA events.
Here's a reminder of the rundown and timezones, if people need it:

****This is the important one*** -->>>>> EA Press Event - Monday June 9 US Pacific - Click here for your local timezone

GameTrailers All Access - Monday June 9 US Pacific (*immediately* after EA's conference, the session is 1 hour and DA:I is a part of that) - Click here for your local timezone

Sony Press Event - Monday June 9 US Pacific (slim chance of DA:I appearing?) - Click here for your local timezone

A friend of mine is currently at E3 for work and got hands on on Dragon Age apparently.
He's not a Dragon Age fan but went because I BEGGED him to.
He said it felt still clunky (But contributed this to Alpha/Beta stages and the fact he's more used to shooters then RPGs).
He also said he got an 'rougish' female elf companion who dual wielded daggers, and an axe wielding dwarf, which made me go

He could just be screwing with me but...

i'd say screwing with you, unless varric now uses axes...which are a warrior's weapon.
unless there's axes for rogues.
ask him this for proof:
"how big was the dwarf's beard?"
if he says anything else other than clean shaven or stubble, you'll know ![]()

Did he specifically state the dwarf was a companion? Could he not have played the axe wielding dwarf, and had Sera as a dagger wielding companion?

The first Inquisition demo was about 20ish minutes, just so everyone can get an idea of how the ones to come will size up.
It was like 40 minutes counting their talking...and their technical difficulties. ![]()

ZOMG, the day is here!!!!! ![]()
I am so sad that I have to work during E3, so you guys have to make sure to have all of the good stuff in here. lol
I'm in your same boat, although I'll be "working" in name only, I fear. LOL Fortunately, nothing really starts today until 3pm my time, so I'll get the bulk of work done and then spend the last two hours of my day F5ing this thread until I can get home and hopefully watch archived videos of today's press conference.
i don't seem to have any hype about DA:I, it feels hollow to me, I see too many characters returning from DA2 (any from DA2 is too many in my opinion), the characters seem to have personalities made out of wood and the game does look good graphically but that isn't the most important thing. Well hopefully I can be Ultra Uber Mega Evil and that will make it a little fun.
How can one tell the characters have wooden personalities when we know almost nothing about any of the new ones? ![]()

He said he played most of the demo by himself, human male warrior and was only joined by the two 'companions' at the end.
I'll ask again before he takes off but I'm taking whatever he says with a grain of salt.
But I'll definitely ask the beard thing beofre he leaves for today. ;3

they did say that we could give our companions other types of weapons. remember the weapon restriction in DA2? it's gone now in inquisition. so I don't think he was screwing with you cuz..you specifically asked him this favor x] the only dwarf companion we'll have is varric to my understanding..*strokes beard* yush

Alternatively, maybe he mistook Ser Bara for a dwarf due to the beard? ![]()

Sounds plausible. Clunky is probably how it's going to be otherwise I imagine he'd have said frame drops?

I think maybe Bianca on Varric's back just might look like a strange axe to someone not paying attention and not familiar with Varric.

Varric is a rogue and rogues can't equip axes can they? (Unless it's changed for Inquisition and we can give any weapon to any class like it was in Origins)

Like I said, he's not used to playing games like these, so clunkiness could be attributed to him unused to RPGs.
