Practice and skill?   Mount and Blade rewards practice and skill, twitch games reward a serious speed or cocaine habit and button mashing.

 

the answer to your question, any game that has ninja rolling and button mashing and claims to be an RPG (The Witcher series has a great enough setting and storyline for me to forgive it the spinning rubbish of it's combat.)  Dark Souls is the biggest franchise that does this, and to my mind the most annoying about it, decent RPGs are being destroyed by 'action RPGs' a genre I have very little respect for.

 

 

Anyone who's actually played Dark Souls knows "Button Mashing" is a one-way ticket to death in that game. It requires very precise control and timing, knowledge of builds and situational awareness.

 

Between Stamina and parrying, you really cannot button mash in that game, keep pretending like you've actually played it though.

If you're button mashing in Dark Souls you are doing it very, very wrong. DS is also about loot, exploration and creating efficient builds with which to destroy everything. I'm not a fan of DS either (lack the patience to run aaaalll the way way back to a boss that killed me), but I can respect and understand why others like it.
