How you look like? I always thought asian genome dominate white people genome and their children will have much more asian appearance.

I don't know. I get all kinds of weird comments. Some people think I'm Turkish. Or some dark Slavic. Some spot the Asian easily.

Like any other child children born from interracial relationships can inherit features from either parent.

When I was in Japan a friend of mine was dating a girl who had previously been married to an American and had a young daughter, and her daughter did not look Japanese at all.

just to add, I've just never noticed the dark skin tones in origins. What I wanted was something near Viviennes color. Now, hopefully with the new engine, that is possible.

You have that in cc in origins, but it looked awful, like a bad case of a week old sunburn that's starting to peel.

Sorry, your skin tone choices will be snow white, vampire, and Minnesotan.

Couldn't they come up with at least one that won't start melting in sunlight?

You could always skin a dark-skinned human/Qunari, then stitch pieces to cover your pale, elvish skin. I believe skin...degenerates once dead, so you'll likely have to do this on a regular basis, there's likely to be some pain, and you might get a little hot, but everything worthwhile takes some work and perseverance, my grandpapa always said.

Be proactive, I always say.

I'm multiracial with Japanese in me.  Some white folks don't even notice, others seem to notice right away and think it's heavy in my appearance.  All asians I've been around have always noticed, though some see the multiracial blend while others view me as full Japanese.

As for the topic, I would love a Vivienne-type of deeper, darker-skinned tone.  With this new engine, I am hoping for good things.

how are varied cultures and histories relevant to a fantasy setting, on a different planet, with different religions, sapient species, and political orders?

Because Dragon Ages borrows from real world religions, nationalities, and species.

For a different planet, it looks a lot like earth. For a different religion, the Chantry looks a lot like Catholicism. For different species, the intelligent races we have look a lot like human, small and slender human, even smaller human, and big human with horns.

If BioWare's goal was to make a fantasy world that didn't look like a pseudo-historic variation on pre-modern Europe, I have bad news for them.

Maybe Elsa from Frozen will make an appearance and give elven PCs a permanent snowy cloud over their head.

Yeah it's not much better in DA2. I tried to make a beautiful dark lady. It wasn't working out for me. Major props to those who managed though. But I couldn't. :(

I don't care if it possibly contradicts lore. I just want it, and I hopewe're given the option.

I mean, how do we know if somewhere in thedas, dark skinned elves don't exist anyway?

You mean like these folks from Merrill's clan?  I just took the screenshot of this from the end of A New Path.

Edit: Going into spoiler tags due to the size of the image.
