Obviously this falls under the assumption that Petrice survived Act 2 of DA2, but I was wondering about whether or not she may make a return in DA:I?
However unlikely, I think she just might. If she did then there might be some pretty interesting consequences to her not having an arrow in her skull.
When we saw her last in Act 3, she reveals she is no longer a Mother of the Chantry, but she plans to gather support for a schism within said Chantry.
"We all have our strengths to exploit, mine is finding like-minded people. There are many disappointed with the Chantry. One day, we will be called to act. Schism, Serah Hawke, it is inevitable."
Despite being a poor conspirator as Fenris(?) once pointed out, if the events of Act 2 were any proof, then Petrice was certainly capable of rallying a mob of hardline fanatics to her banner. IIRC these "like-minded people" Petrice was so good at finding had a major hand (if not the hand) at forcing the Arishok and his Qunari to wage war against Kirkwall. Who knows what she could accomplish in the three years between DA2 and DA:I?
The schism she promised in Act 3 would most likely be a quiet little squeak compared to a war between mages and templars, a civil war in Orlais, and - oh yeah - an invasion of demons, but I'd like to think that a mob of crazy chant-freaks led by a madwoman would be something the Inquisition would want to deal with.
What do you think?
