Pretty much what the title says. The way I see it, we have a Dalish Elf at the head of a (I presume) mostly human organisation, charged by some human or other to close the veil tears, and generally work to solve mostly human problems, such as the two wars currently happening in Thedas.

Do you think other Dalish would high five the elf currently lording it over the shems, or do you think they'll consider you as some kind of race traitor for working with and helping humans?

Veil Tears are a threat to everyone. They would likely be relieved that one of their own is going to be head of a powerful organization that can possibly stop it.

But so are Blights, and IIRC the Dalish lent their aid pretty reluctantly in spite of the treaty they had with the Wardens demanding their help, even if the Warden was a fellow Dalish.

They were reluctant because their clan was savaged by werewolves. Zathrian said he was in no position to uphold their obligation. When Duncan tried to recruit Maharial, Marethari agreed and said that the Dalish could not outrun the storm.

Dalish: (Sigh)... "Listen creepo, just because we are both elves, doesn't mean we have to be friends....now please, leave me in peace."

Elf-Quisitor: "But brother elf-"

Adoring-Fan-Oblivion.jpg

Dalish:"No! Just, no."

Elf-Quisitor: Wow, you Dalish really are Jerks."

Dalish: ...

Elf-Quisitor: ......."So-..."

Dalish: "-Wait, you... You were the one breaking our crates! Gtfo our camp!!"

Elf-Quisitor: "Its just random boxes no one cares abou-"

Dalish: "Those were our supplies and resources you bastard!! And the clansmen have be reporting that you were stealing our money, and looting out stuff as well! Those things are the little that we have to trade with the shem that scourge us! You stupid, ugly, son of a barabis!!"

Elf-Quisitor: "Crap!!"

Dalish: "You know nothing of our struggle!! You're no brother of ours either... You're a thieve, and a marauder!!!"

Elf-Quisitor: (Elven racial, special Coercion) "Listen guys, let's just try talking about how having the same ears makes us feel like we have much in common, and feel special about ourselves."

Dalish/s: "No! Get him!!!"

Elf-Quisitor: "Great, brothers!! Now I have to kill you!!!"

Blood bath later...  Back in Skyhold...

Solas: "So how was it.... brother...."

Elf-Quisitor: ....

Sera: "Did you connect to the ancient roots of our people?"

Elf-Quisitor: "Everything is stoopid..."

Depends on the individual Dalish but I'm sure at least a few of them would be crossed with the Inquisitor for associating with a group even distantly related to the Chantry. Not enough hipster cred.

One of the articles said you'd lose approval with the Dalish if you help Orlais...but I think that probably applies to any Inquisitor.

I'm actually a little more concerned about how the City Elves will react to a Dalish Inquisitor.  TME made it sound like they either try to kill you or act like you're a unicorn.  I never got the impression Dalish were that unheard of, they do go into human places to trade.

a lot of interesting question =D .

. I am also curious how the city elves.. in Orlais will react to you.. and  how Dalish will react too.if they see you working with the cit elves .

hmm..^^

Someone said they don't recall the dalish acting up about about the city elves.. in DA2, they talk about it and even in DA:O i feel they were acting different about my city elf ..

but in Masked Empire they really did give a better insight of how some of clans,  in the old ways..really think about the city elves..

It will probably depend on whether your goals align or not. If they do, you are an example of Dalish pride. If not, you are a race-traitor and bastard.

I'm sure the Dalish Inquisitor will have an easier time of it than the others, like being let into the camp to being with for example, I wonder if will be your clan this time.

I hope a human Inquistor has a particularly hard time of it tbh.

i liked the dalish in origins, with the exception of zathrian...  i really started to dislike them in da 2, even though i loved merrill, i hated the selfish obsessive part of her, as well as her clan for seeing her as a monster....  TME only furthered that gap for me, only one i liked was fellesan....  in fact my love for elves has dropped period thanks to briala

Depends on the clan in question. Some may view you as family, others may revile you.

My Elfquisitors aren't the sort to look down on City Elves, aside from my planned obligatory Lawful Evil! NecroElf . Hell, at least one of them will probably incite rebellions if possible.

We only have Origins and mits expansions to compare with. The general attitude changes, bust mostly changes are positive.
Other Wardens tend to be greeted neutrally or coldly, while every Dalish Warden gets at least a friendly greeting. It happens when reaching the Dalish camp, with Velanna and with Ariane. That's even before they know you're a Warden.

Of course, what you say or do afterwards may change things (Velanna: "Your work with the shems? Have you no shame?").

I'm actually a little more concerned about how the City Elves will react to a Dalish Inquisitor.  TME made it sound like they either try to kill you or act like you're a unicorn.  I never got the impression Dalish were that unheard of, they do go into human places to trade.

Almost no City Elf, with the glaring exception of Berwick (and he wasn't your usual elf), recognizes you as a Dalish unless you tell them. So even in DA:O they were a bit legendary. In the City Elf Origin, Alarith tries to convince the PC and Soris that the Dalish are real. And Soris didn't sound convinced at all. The "go into human places to trade" is not common for every clan and it would only matter in said places. Definitely, Dalish elves don't seem to go to Denerim or Val Royeaux to trade.

The same way they react to everything, I imagine. Violently and with a great degree of self-rigtheousness and a smug sense of superiority.

That ,not to mention that they will probably see inquisition as human organization so most of them will see dalish inq as traitor that deals with humans.

The other Dalish are going to absolutely love me. They'll write songs in my honor and christen a holiday in my name. On said holiday, clans will gather for a full-out celebration culminating in a theatric retelling of my many adventures. Elves will play all the roles, of course, because the Dalish will in time forget that Cassandra, Varric, etc were not Dalish, themselves. They'll construct a new form of bow and name it after me, and after a century all elves will forget that I, myself, never used said bow but it will continue to sell as a keepsake of pride to our shared heritage. In Thedas, it will be a glorious time to be an elf in the aftermath of my deeds.

At least, that's how I picture things going...

But Briala is a city elf  =D she just didnt want to be part of The game anymore with celene..    I mean..celene kill her parents for the game, and lie to her for 20 years, while making love to her. also briala saw the Celene would only  really use the city elves as a weapon..never really free the city elves because she would have to always please the nobles.^^  Don't hate the city elves at least^^  or hate Briala..she was was city elf who really want the best.. for her people., and saw all elf as one..but was heart broken when she saw how the dalish see the city elf.

not just the dalish, my love for all elves dropped thanks to briala, she got impatient and has thrown her people into the fire so to speak.  As for the dalish TME didnt do them any favors in my book.

hell the story teller from zathrian's group did that to my dalish warden...  he sits there and b****es at you and how you are being used by the shem

Don't forget the part where the other Dalish tell him to apologize, especially if the Warden is Dalish. People always remember the jerks, but not the nice ones who are there too.

My inquisitor only plans on 'helping' the shems as a matter of plot progression. The Dalish will stand with me and so will the city elves. Even if I must get rid of some of their trouble makers. I do not mind making a few adjustments.

They'd be throwing their shoes at you. That's why they don't wear any. Got them all locked up in a big chest for special occasions when one of their own "betrays" them.

Can't throw vegetables else they'd be starving.

Torches and pitchfork? A shem thing.
