Yep, their natural strength, aggression, and magic resistance would make them perfect Templar Paladins and Vanguards.
Even a surface dwarf still believes in the stone and paragons, even if in that belief system they're not worth much. So I doubt you'd find one that was willing to swear anything by the maker to completely fall into disgrace with their ancestors.

I certainly hope so. There's no room at the top for the lesser beings of Thedas. Someone has to scrub the chamber pots.

True it's a product of the culture it exists in and it would be very unlikely for a non racist religion to pop up in an ara when elves weren't long ago slaves to the largest empire in the land that spread it's influence everywhere (even if Tevinter was rebelled against, it spread it's culture when it covered much of the continent) and then the home of the religion went to war with heathen elves and got rid of the biggest elven influences in the religion, but that doesn't mean it's not still racist just because whatever religion would fill the void if it wasn't around would likely also be racist.
