sniper rifle or shotgun for your infiltrator?

I switch my classes on the go in one playthrough a lot, but I usually go with Claymore or Javelin.

Last time I played an infiltrator, I went sniperless, and used a Mattock for mid- to long-range targets and a scimatar for short range. I actually liked the scimitar because it kept the weight down and I could get lots of shots away before reloading. With cryo ammo I was shattering everything in sight, heh. It was fun.

I ended up trying out all the different shotguns on that run, but I got this thing about keeping the weight down if I'm going to be using any powers at all. I know the 200% isn't necessary but i still want it, lol. When I played a sniper infiltrator I only used Cloak, so I wasn't as concerned about the weight.

You can use the Tact. Cloak cooldown to override cooldowns of powers with longer cooldowns.

Do you mean spec'ing the cloak for firing one power while cloaked? I was always went for the SR damage bonus instead.

I used it when I went sniperless. It was great for sabotaging things.

Infiltrator has disappointing powers to a degree. That's why I prefer like Sentinel and biotic classes...

Sentinel is like my class every time for ME2.

Hmm... shep is an infiltrator in my current ME1 game, but maybe when she gets resurrected I'll change it out.

Sentinel is like invincible mode! I only play on Casual since it's a pain in ME2!

Tech armor just bugs me, lol. I wish you could change its appearance, maybe more like fortification or defense matrix.

Despite the appearance, it gets blown off easily anyways since you'll be taking less cover with that class...

Oh yes, It raises your maximum shields, and with Power Armor, when it gets destroyed and the tech armor detonation staggers enemies around you, it gives you back 50% shields back. Take cover for a bit and then start shooting! Once your shields go down, turn on tech armor, and BAM! Shields are fully restored! This does not apply to ME3 since ME3 doesn't return shields to you, but it gives you damage reduction.

Tech upgrades based on cooldown and damage on tech powers will benefit this strategy since it will allow Tech Armor to be abused like Crazy!

Cool, okay, thanks for the tips. I guess I better finish that ME1 run soon.

When you get to ME3, pick lash for your bonus power. I had that power during my infiltrator playthrough and couldn't stop laughing, particularly when fighting the wannabe Ninja.

For aesthetic reasons I never take a biotic power for a tech/soldier shep; no reason for it, just a preference. But any time I play an adept, Lash is too much fun not to take, especially against Kai Leng.

You can learn Reave from Kaidan in ME3. Of course it means you have to talk to him. Just kidding.

I'm a huge fan of the Flaredept. Its fun enough to blow stuff up constantly, but there is really something special about Flarebombs that makes them so worth using. Especially in a NG+ where you can have the cooldown low enough to spam.
