So adding a PVP will destroy everything both on the forums and in the new ME? A bit hyperbolish IMO

Maybe not flat out denying but you're definitely attempting to defend a community that overall is one of the worst in gaming.

Well duh ofcourse I'll defend it as some here already have. I've experienced the good and the ugly side of the cod community. I've experienced more good than bad and for other might be the opposite. People's defend vs bash rate on cod should be measured by personal experience and not by fabricated statistics

I've played a lot of PvP and while it's true that not everyone is a douchebag enough are to make me vehemently opposed to PvP in Mass Effect.

I'd say I've experienced 50% good competitive fun with congrats given to the winners at the end and 50% hackers, cheaters, griefers, gankers, spawn campers, tea baggers and 14 year old's calling me a f*ggot and my mother a wh*re. As opposed to ME3 where, after 3200 games I can count the times I've been insulted on one hand.

Ohh man.. I loled IRL XD

Should I feel bad that I'm 34 and still teabag people.. even in Mass Effect? I also gank in Dark Souls bc if you're invading mine or my friends world.. you are asking for it. There are no rules in Dark Souls. Hell, sometimes I'll spam the Dried Fingers with a friend while we're both black magic users and farm invaders with Dark Bead spam. F other people lol...

Pretty much all your replies in this thread to the CoD community has been calling people ignorant for saying it's bad or calling the hate stupid.

Apparently it's based on personal experience unless that experience was bad, then you're just repeating the stereotype.

and yes, I've played CoD. The community deserves the bad reputation that it has.

That was only argent who defined the PvP section as a whole by the video. Yes she was ignorant for that...

Competition should be a good thing but it usually brings out the worst in people. I've seen fathers and mother turn into different people when competeting against their own children. Add in adolescent kids and the anonimity that comes with video games and it's just a toxic environment at times.

That's not to say I don't like toxic at times or to play against someone but ME is for me a coop game.

I'd say that video is along the lines of what I think of the CoD community as an overall(note that this does not mean everybody).

but I'm probably just another one of those people who only hates CoD because I apparently "can't handle losing" in a PvP game even though I've been playing PvP FPS games since long before CoD or Halo was around.

I like the fact that some MP action RPGs like ME and Diablo are pvp-free, and hope it won't change. PVP attracts a lot of douchebags. However, a small PVP arena like in Diablo would be fun for testing purpose.

Lol..

So what is the definition of "over-ALL"?
I might be reading or understanding the definition wrong so please correct me but it states "with everyone or everything included. As a whole, all over"...

It does mean as a whole, but again that doesn't mean everybody either.

It's mainly just another way of saying most people or the majority. Looking at all parts of the community in CoD, I see mostly douchebags so overall the community is bad.

It's not really any different from you saying that most people who hate CoD just can't handle the butthurt of losing(assuming you're speaking from personal experience and aren't just making things up, of course =P).

How do you think so many clans are formed? From hate and douchbaggery? I've made good friends playing cod. I've been in many full cod parties that weren't filled with foul mouth kids. Despite the rep, cod and bf brings people together like any other coop game would. Not just those 2 but Street fighter 4, marvel vs capcom etc.....

I think the cod hate is naive and stupid.

You find friends because you fight with them. I said "on the other side of the map", and that means ppl you're fighting against.

I'm not saying its impossible to befriend an imaginative enemy though, just that its not very likely.

Mostly and overall have two different extremes and one cannot be used to in the same context and make sense. It's either none, some, most/mostly, all/overall/as a whole. It's not proper to use "overall" and make it mean "mostly"..

Really? How many hacked lobbies are there on PC?

I pug for a few hours every night, and in the months I've been playing, I've never run into a hacked lobby.

I have played a few games where I suspected the host removed the FPS cap, but I don't think I'd count that.

That video of the kid playing CoD scares me .. where are the parents? Get that kid into a team sport so he can figure out the basics of cooperation and teamwork.

You, of all people, shouldn't be criticising someone's diction. Plus, used as an adverb overall can mean 'on the whole' or 'in general'.

It's way off topic, but there really isn't a single CoD community. The people playing MW3 have a very different level of manners and teamwork from those playing BlOps2, f'rexample.

I happen to like loads of PvP games. I doubt ME4 will bring a better PvP experience than those I already mentioned and numerous others, whereas engaging coop multiplayer is rarer and more special.

There's an old saying about sticking to what one is good at.

The point of my post was that people who call it bad and NEVER played the game should give it a try before they start talking bad about it. Does the CoD community suck? Duh. But that doesn't mean everyone is like that.

I like that Cod rewards you for your kill streaks. Imagine getting 18-21 kills without dying and being able to call in a vtol warship, lode star, or even better a swarm? Such a rewarding feeling watching the enemies run around panicking so they wont get hit. Or going 24 kills without dying and calling in the Mother of All Bombs (M.O.A.B.) or Kem Strike on the enemy team? Such a rewarding feeling.

Its even better when you play with friends and theyre all good at the game. Im talking 3.0+ KD ratios. You and your friends are playing Kill Confirmed and theres about 2 (or even 3) moabs being called in one after another all whilst attack choppers, emp systems, reapers, pave lows, osprey gunners in the air against the enemy team. Fun times man :D. When its all over seeing the enemy teams scores at the end shows a Massive anal r*pe they received

The call of duty killstreaks system is also laughably unbalanced.

Although if you're playing CoD you probably aren't really too concerned about balance.

The Cod community is probably the largest gaming community right now. So its only inevitable that they will be swarming with all different types of personalities . And PvP does bring out the worst in people sometimes so its not unusual or crazy that Cod would stand out more. it stands out more because they are the biggest community

How is it unbalaced? You get a certain amount of kills without dying and you get reward for it according to the amount of kills. Mass Effect Multiplayer is the epitome of unbalance

Because joining mid game while some prestige 4 year old is on a kill-streak and not being able to do anything about it (other than die constantly) is fun killing and game breaking. The over the top kill streaks were the straw that broke the camel's back for me when it comes to playing CoD.
