This makes sense in a single character RPG, but in a party-based game I'm hard pressed to explain why I can do the Mage-specific quest as the Inquisitor, but not with Vivienne.

The answer, in the abstract, would be that these are background quests tied to your personal class background, rather than the mere fact that you are a mage.

Only if there's a pretty even amount of quests for your class. It bugged me in Origins that there was that whole quest line for rogues and not really anything for other classes.

The Denerim market?  Yeah I agree there.

And if there is a quest line for just specific classes I'd like them to be more fleshed out than the Denerim market one was.  Like, for a rogue make it something like an Ocean's movie or assassination thing.

I would like race specific side quests, along with unique dialogue for each race (not a lot just some lines here and there).

I'd enjoy it. Maybe with some good class specific weaponry/armor as the reward at the end.

I think an assassination mission for the Rogue would be really something else.  Especially if its a top lieutenant or major support for the Big Bad.  Could you just imagine sneaking into an Orlesian party or something, your gang goes in and distracts the attendees and draws the attention of the target, you get into the support struts of the building, then arrow him good.

Depends on the execution. Replay-ability should always be taken into account when crafting a CRPG. However if the implementation is shallow or could be worked around as per Sylvius' suggestion then better not to expend time and resources. I will say that I'm a believer of player specializations being better integrated with the over-arching narrative of the game.

will we see the grey wolf?

interesting idea. Why not.

And why not going even a bit further like Specialisation restricted quests. So in order to gain certain skills of some specs your char wouldhave to go on a quest.

I.e: The Necromancer would have to clear a tomb to get a deeper insight about life and death.

The Berserk would have to face some kind of challenge... like assaulting an eneym campand killall the bad guys in berserk-mode.

The Artificer wouldhave to go an  heist stealing plans for new traps..

Even though those are rather unlikely

I would love to see class-specific quests or at least something to make playing as each class feel a little different.

Maybe one or two small ones.

Literally one or two.

Anything significantly beyond that is not a good idea.

Hell, I'd like to the class the player chooses (along with the background) have some sort of tangible effect on the plot.

I'm a fan of anything that promotes multiple playthroughs. I enjoy keeping my characters as varied as possible in RPG's, so I would love to have extra side quests depending upon class and race. That would add so much more!

I would love for there to be race or class specific quests.

I would like less separation between classes and more options in building your character, his skills and his combat style. And his equipment. Basically the opposite of what they are aiming at - class distinction, specific equipment for each class...etc..

Yes, I would love class-specific side quests. One of the reasons I support it is because it helps make it feel like the story is generating around my character, that it is personalized. That was one of the things I liked about DA2 (how it changed things if you were a mage opposed to being a fighter/rogue). It's also one of the things I was extremely disappointed with in with ME. Though they had those early side quests in ME1 for background differences, they never really followed up on the rest of the series... unless email messages count.

Yes. I don't believe a player should necessarily be able to experience all of the content in a single playthrough. Several quests exclusive to each class (or race) would be a very good thing indeed.

BOTH. both would be good yesssss. (not like, quests specifically for dalish mages and dalish rogues and dalish warriors and the like, that's too much. but a questline for each race, and a separate questline for each class)

I still think something like the Quest for Glory system would be better. Giving players class (and maybe race) specific ways to solve a quest. People already react differently to you based on your class and race. I just don't like the idea of a mission being blocked off because of something you have no control over.

If you do one mission and that prevents you from being able to do a different mission, fine (sad, but fine.) Blocking content based on a person preference of class sounds like a bad move (quest for glory did that and it was super annoying, especially in QFG4 where the Paladin got all the best and important quests, essentially punishing you for not being the Paladin class).

Absolutely.
