heh, hip hip hooray for Alberta's low PST and lack of sales tax. Best province EVAR!!I know you weren't quoting me, but I'll respond. I'm currently in Canada where tax is nearly 15% (in Québec). I've pre-ordered the PS4 and PC Collector's Editions and the total with FREE shipping is 459.88 CAD, with each edition being 199.99 CAD. So yeah, tax is high... I've pre-ordered both because I'm not sure on which console I'm going to be playing this on, but I definitely will cancel one of the pre-orders before the game comes out.
Speaking of pre-orders in Canada, apparently, the Collector's Edition for the PC is sold out on EBGames Canada. Depending on how high the demand is, I might either cancel or resell (for a profit) one of the Collector's Edition (the one I don't use).

The whole tarot cards thing is very, very, very weird.
I really wonder whose idea that was.

I don't see how most of the things in this "Collector's edition" even add up. The only things I can see people wanting are the Map, Steelbook, Tarrot Cards and maybe that lockpick set.
Why in the world would anyone want fugly war pieces that are so out of place, coins, Dairy??? (essentially a sketchbook) and ink bottles.... These could have easily been replaced with an Exclusive Artbook, Copy of the game's soundtrack and a statuette of the dragon! This kinda screams "Lame EA package" all over it. ![]()

Does anybody care about the war pieces? I've been reading a lot of people express liking the tarot cards, the map, even the ink and quill, but I have yet to see a positive comment about the war pieces or about the coins. I don't know why I have a thing for coins. I don't really collect them but they are always cool to have. For example, the only thing I regretted the european Ninokuni collector's edition didn't have that the US collector's edition had was the coin.
I personally am looking forward to having the coins. As for the sketchbook, who really is going to use it? It's such a collector's item that it'll just stay in the box forever.

really cool kit and would love to get it but the fact that I want to go all digital this generation is killing me. If I could get the pack and a ddl code for the game that would be awesome.

You could always just buy one of the collector's edition and sell the game while keeping the items. Then get the game digitally. You might lose a few dollars but it's a solution.

Considering that It is online only, you have to pay in full up front, has the added cost of shipping with no guarntee that it will be delivered to you before ten am(when their stores open if there wasn't a midnight release),nothing that I really feel a need for and the fact that I can get the Collector edition guidebook(whenever they reveal the guidebook, collector edition or not) along with another game for the same price just makes me lean towards the Deluxe. I wouldn't have mind getting it if I was able to pick it up in store at the midnight release and could pay it off in payments like other pre-orders. Oh well, I'm happy they have the deluxe edition for those of us who are more interested in the Digital in game content.

I think the war pieces are a better choice then a big old statue of a dragon or yet another white human male protagonist. With the former I don't really have the room for a piece that would be big enough to be impressive and the latter...been there, actually haven't done it because DO NOT WANT. I'm not saying that I am going to love them but if they are well made and pretty to look at they'll go on my knick knack self. Or maybe I'll just roll that map of Thedas out and pretend I'm the inquisitor in the war room! ![]()

I love those war pieces and I will totally use them and the map while I'm playing. I'll also use the notebook for taking notes about the game and drawing sketches. This is the most perfect set of goodies I can think of for this game! I'm really happy with it and I will be devastated if something goes wrong with my preorder.

I am just upset that you CAN'T pick it up IN STORE. The fact that you have to order online and pay shipping sucks.

Meanwhile, the Mage Inquisitor is getting impatient waiting for Gamestop to put up the PC version of the CE in the UK...

I WANT THE RINGS!!! PLEASE INCLUDE THE RINGS THAT ARE SHOWN IN THE WALLPAPERS THAT THE HAND IS WEARING!!!
They don't have to be made of sterling... Plzzzz!!!
Or at least just one ring with a huge round face that has the Inquisitor symbol.
Joking aside... OMG I WANT them RINGS so much!!!!!
If there are rings I swear to god I won't hesitate another second to preorder this.

I second that, or hope they'll possibly sell replicas of those rings in the Bioware store.

I like the war pieces, I think they look awesome. I actually like everything that comes in the CE, although I would have rather had a regular deck of cards than the tarot or even better, an art book. No big deal though, I'm happy with it overall. ![]()

I put my preorder down. Dunno if it'll stay there, honestly not really any must haves. I love me a good art book, but apparently an empty diary is what Bioware thinks gamers really want? I feel like they tried too hard to subvert CE cliches and ended up with a box of LARP'ing supplies instead.
