Is this the ultimate edition?

No, it's the "Inquisitor's Edition" :)

Actually, I think your comment was more helpful than that tweet. :D

Can I buy the CE from Amazon?

Apparently, you can't, as it seems to be GameStop exclusive for some bollocks reason.

Why would EA do something stupid as that, one can only guess...

I don't care about any of the contents of the case (excepting the game), but I would like one of those cases. Any chance it's coming to the store separately, Bioware?

There is a thread about this topic: http://forum.bioware...e-restrictions/

Hi Caja,

Thanks for the info, but as far as I can see, they're only talking about PC / downloadable versions, not about Xbox One/PS4 discs. :/

I went to gamestop today and the guy there said that no PC version of the collector's edition. I don't now if that means just my country or Europe. :/ He said that there was gonna be one but then EA cancelled it.

Hmm, GameStop only, huh? Bummer, since I absolutely hate shopping there. Still, the only thing I want from that set is the steel book case, so hopefully that makes its way to either the Deluxe Edition or another SKU entirely.

It's a problem across Europe - there seems to be no European PC version of the Collector's Edition.

BW are aware of the problem and are working on it at the moment.

We are aware that there is currently no PC uber edition available in Europe. We are working on it now. Sorry this happened

(they should really agree on one name to call it, too, just because calling it "Inquisitor's Edition", "uber edition", "collector's edition" could be confusing.)

@BioMarkDarrah Why were so few Inquisitor Editions made? Sold out already at all the near by stores :'(

[user] mainly concerns over getting enough made in time.

I got an e-mail back from GS UK saying that they won't be stocking the Inquisitor/collector edition for the PC. Peeved would be an understatement right now, really don't understand the thinking behind it whatsoever.

Edit

Sorry, I said e-mail, it wasn't, it was a reply to me on Twitter

we wont be stocking the Deluxe Collectors edition on PC

I'd love to know why this edition doesn't feature the ce of the game on PC in Australia? (Unsure about elsewhere)

It's been said that the IE -does- include the deluxe stuffs. I think Laidlaw said it? I was worried about that as well yesterday.

For those interested in some clarification, I managed to snag a pre-order yesterday once the PC edition became available again, and my Gamestop order is itemized as follows:

Dragon Age: Inquisition Deluxe - PC - $69.99

Dragon Age Age: Inquisition CE Case - $100.00

So it looks like the box itself is it's own separate thing, and the deluxe version of the game for whichever platform you specify is just sent alongside with it. It does make sense, considering the odd wording of the description of the steelbook case.

I've seen people claim that PC gamers are favoured too...isn't that hilarious?  I'll never own a console, so if this is how it's going to be, I guess the one thing PC gamers will have over others is more money...

Brings to mind the mess Bioware made of ME3 over here in the UK, doesn't it?

Ugh, don't remind me, I remember the mad scramble to secure a copy elsewhere all too well. It really is frustrating, I was already PO that I was being forced to buy from Origin for the Deluxe edition, now this.

Surely that was because a major UK retailer collapsed a week before launch?

How is that remotely the studio's fault?

I would have gladly bought the collectors edition, if not for the fact that I don't own a console and they don't sell it for PC here in the UK.

I can't get a physical copy of the deluxe edition here either.

So I guess I'll just be getting the standard edition. Saves me £80 pounds I guess, but I'm not exactly happy. Does the studio want to lose out on potential sales?

Because said retailer had been given exclusive rights to the collectors edition, which was entirely the choice of the studio/EA who sold it to them.

And now we don't even get Inquisitions collectors edition for the PC. That's the last two Bioware games now I've wanted the collectors edition of but been unable to get.

Compared to other studios where I've always been able to get the collectors edition if I wanted to It's a pretty **** display, in all honesty.

Well I was trying to decide what edition to get (do want that uder edition, but £130 is a tad steep for just one game, but probably worth it lol)

But Ubisoft has just announced Far Cry 4 due to be released on November 20th, set in the Himalayas, complete with ridable elephants! I can just see myself riding into a camp, on top of a elephant...preferably with a flame thrower in hand. So I'm probably going to end up pre-ordering both games as standard edition.

Can't wait for E3

Search the Bioware posts in this thread. The lack of a PC CE in Europe was a mistake, and they're looking into it at the moment.

As for GAME's collapse in 2012 - seriously? Deals with retailers happen all the time, for pretty much every AAA game you can think of.

Neither EA nor Bioware are mind-readers - how can they possibly be blamed for a company collapsing? If GAME offered a better deal to get the exclusivity rights to the ME3 Collector's Edition, why would any business turn them down? If they were keeping their financial situation secret, it's ludicrous to expect a publisher to somehow anticipate their bankruptcy.

Exclusivity deals are obviously profitable for EA, if they keep doing them, and since they're a business with an interest in making money it'd be stupid not to do so.
