Neither EA nor Bioware are mind-readers - how can they possibly be blamed for a company collapsing? If GAME offered a better deal to get the exclusivity rights to the ME3 Collector's Edition, why would any business turn them down? If they were keeping their financial situation secret, it's ludicrous to expect a publisher to somehow anticipate their bankruptcy.

 

Exclusivity deals are obviously profitable for EA, if they keep doing them, and since they're a business with an interest in making money it'd be stupid not to do so.

 

You don't have your facts right. GAME didn't go bankrupt. It still exists now. 

 

There was a falling out between EA and GAME and EA refused to distribute future titles to GAME.

 

EA made an exclusivity deal with them and then completely ended all business relationships with them several months later. While it was brought about by GAMES growing financial woes they had been publicly known about for awhile (several GAME stores in my area were shut down and the financial issues were well-known).

 

It is entirely EA's fault for agreeing to the deal with a company that was struggling and then backing out of it last-minute.

Search the Bioware posts in this thread. The lack of a PC CE in Europe was a mistake, and they're looking into it at the moment.

 

The problem with waiting for Bioware here is that iff I go by GS's wording in their reply to me, I can only conclude that there won't a version for the PC in the UK at all. They didn't say that they were waiting for confirmation, or that there was a delay etc, but that they won't be stocking it. Which means that iff I want it, i'll have to buy a console version of it as well as keeping my Origin order and the longer I wait for someone from Bioware to come back with a definitive answer, (which is looking rather like it will be a 'no') the greater the likelyhood that they will sell out and i'm stuffed. Either way, i'm not particularly happy.

You're absolutely right, I would prefer to wait for Bioware to come back with an answer before making my move. I'm just not exactly overflowing with confidence atm lol

...is the collector's edition really sold out everywhere in Canada?! apparently, the pc version isn't available to order online =(   that's....that's awful! would have gladly put down 200 plus tax for something i'd get a lot of use out of...namely, the journal, ink and quill set, tarot cards....

It seems, from this answer that there is a separate CE specifically for the UK that is not GameStop exclusive. Curious, anyway until it goes up on their site for order I've got no idea whether there's anything true about it.

Well that f-ing SUCKS. I don't trust Gamestop, so I'm not going to get this. Now I will go pre-order the Deluxe from Amazon because I had been waiting for the CE to appear before pre-ordering.

 

I assume that using this tactic is a ploy to get people like myself, who aren't normally Gamestop customers, to buy from the store. But I really wonder how much extra money they will make by having an item like this be exclusive to them. How many people like me will forgo it because they don't like Gamestop, or they have ongoing relationships with other retailers?

I would've happily bought a copy of the Collector's Edition, but I do not support Gamestop, its policies, or how they treat their customers. I guess I can now pre-order a Deluxe Edition copy from Amazon.

They are probably just referring to the Deluxe Edition which is exclusive to Game

I'm still really pissed off about the Australian PC edition of the Inquisitor's Edition not getting Digital Deluxe bonus goodies.

 

Though for now, I'm cancelling my digital deluxe edition preorder over Origin and I'm going to preorder the Inquisitor's Edition from my local EB games.

 

I'm hopeful they will still include the option to upgrade a Standard eidition to the Digital Deluxe Edition (as they did with ME3) and if not, well, Digital Deluxe isn't going anywhere for a while and October is a ways away still.

So at this state, over all the contries where Gamestop is present on in one form or another, all US versions are complete and available, all Canadian versions are complete but unavalible, the Australian PC and Italian PC versions only have the standard edition, UK doesn't have any collector for PC, and Germany and France have jack.

 

What a communication mess.

And still nothing.... knowing my luck unless I keep checking every hour the PC CE will turn up in the UK and it will get swarmed and sold out before I even know they finally sorted it out. Meh.

I wouldn't worry too much about the CE being "sold out". It is very unlikely the CEs have been produced yet.

This is either plain misunderstanding or a marketing trick.
