PC preorders in UK

Very confusing.

Perhaps my old eyes were deceiving me but pretty sure that about a week ago amazon in the UK were offering the full inquisitors pack on PC pre-orders... That seems to have disappeared now.

Game UK are offering only the horse for preorders.

Gamestop UK are offering nothing special for PC preorders... WTF?

I see a lot of plastic crap. More soundtracks/"behind the scenes" and actual art books, instead of a lot of garbage.

I think OST's and soundtracks are going to be left out of CE's in the future (of lots of games) because they all tend to end up residing on YouTube anyway. Kinda removes the specialness of 'collectors' when that occurs.

All of Scandinavia has pretty decent incomes, and Sweden at least has very big video game market.

i know right? but there is a difference not only in salary in month but also a price for goods. for example pack of pasta in Finland will cost you 0.17 cents when in let say in nearest Russia it will cost you a 1 euro (for a product of the same quality). So in general it's not only amount of money per month for average person what matters, but how much stuff this particular person can afford for that amount of money in the country he is living.

So i guess all calculations were made by the feedback of previous products of EA and by feedback of the market of video games in general.

I really like the style of the lockpick set and the tarot cards sound really really neat.

I will give it some thought closer to pay day. Right now £130 seems a bit pricey.

I agree with this. It's fine if they decide to put something like a good quality statue in it (like Ubisoft does for Assassin's Creed; very nice for that price), but give us something that's actually useful.

I understand that we have the nice World of Thedas book(s), so those of us interested in these things have an option, but an actual in-depth artbook of the game is always welcome. The complete soundtrack is another must-have item in my opinion. I'd prefer physical, but even good quality digital files are ok; CD Project, for example, recently gave us the option to download from GOG the FLAC version; before that, we could download the MP3 version at 320 kbit/s.

The cloth map could actually be nice, but I fear that it will be similar to DAO's one. Ultima IX is still my favourite cloth map from a game. Hopefully Divinity Original Sin, Torment Tides of Numenera and Project Eternity will finally give me new cloth maps that I would actually display.

I'm really disappointed that there is still no word on the CE for PC in Europe. It's been almost a week and no update. Is it really so hard to give Gamestop a license to sell the CE?

Also i don't understand why they even made this arrangement with them. The DE is exclusive for Amazon. So why two different retailers and why the CE to the one that doesn't ship in other countries?

I concur with this. I too don't really understand, from a consumer's perspective and living in the UK why all of a sudden Bioware are distributing a CE of an anticipated game exclusively through a North American retailer, to the rest of the world. As such, I've registered on GameStop's UK site, I've ordered the CE for Inquisition but it will probably be the first and only item I ever order from them.

The only thing I can think of, is that GAME getting into trouble around the release of ME3's CE last year has made Bioware now look at other options.

The soundtrack comes as part of the digital deluxe edition, so it'll likely be a card with a download code. Also, If you'd like an art book for DAI they're publishing one separately, details here http://www.amazon.co...n/dp/1616551860

Right in the UK the DE is exclusive to GAME, while in most other countries (as far as I know) it's exclusive to Amazon. And I have never heard of any major shipping problems with them.

Sweden is still always pretty high up on the lists of spending, low poverty, etc. I've a difficult time buying the "people in other countries can't afford it" argument, so I really, really, really can't imagine that's the reason. Because it would be stupid.

For that matter, I actually just read that they're working on getting a PC collector's edition out to the rest of Europe, so I'll hope for the best.

 Because it would be stupid.

perhaps.

but i guess EA have a statistics about how much money people are wasting on games in general in one country or another.

also i think CE will be a limited offer. I don't really think that any of those CE sets were manufactured to this date. This is why i don't really understand why i can't pre order it in my country.

I mean i have no desire to do that, because it's a waste in my opinion. But having only one option avaliable for pc is kinda lame.

I don't get the idea behind "BioWare isn't fixing this fast enough" there isn't much BIoWare can do besides send a corporate email/phone call to their contact in Gamestop and then wait for them to figure the problem out and then after report back to us.  The only thing I can think of to fix these issues is to do the same thing Ubisoft is doing and make five different "Collector's Editions" to sort of the logistic problems of a limited run and that would go over worse then these issues they are having now.

Hmm... somehow I missed that there would be a digital download of the soundtrack. Thanks!

And I already preordered the Art of Dragon Age :P

I really like the quality in these Dark Horse "The Art of ..." books. And I'll probably buy the Library Edition for the Dragon Age Comics, even if I already have the normal hardcover volumes. I really love my Buffy Season 8 Library Editions.

Aye, it really shouldn't be this difficult for us Brits to find and pre-order our preferred version(s) of the game. What's the good word Bioware?

Yeah, Game were definately offering the full set last week, now just the mount. It now looks like Game have the mount, Amazon have the weapon pack, and Shopto have the armour, with Gamestop having no preorder bonuses. So now in the UK it appears to be impossible to get the CE and a preorder bonus. I guess that can go on the list with no physical copies of the Deluxe or Inquisitor's edition on PC in the UK.

Ah, I didn't realise the soundtrack came with the Deluxe Edition. The Inquisitior's Edition includes all the digital content from the Deluxe Edition.

Cool.

If they sold it on Amazon, I would buy it in a heartbeat! (Probably two copies, actually.) I imagine it would fix some of the international sale issues as well, since Amazon ships to many countries.

Apparently Amazon only sends it to "select countries", I tried to contact them to find out what "select countries" means, their answer was "try to buy it, and if you get an error, then your country is not one of the 'select countries'".

That was seriously all the reply they would give me.

Oh, except "Thanks for understanding".

I fear that EA somehow decided that Europe won't get a PC collector's edition as well as no physical Deluxe Edition for PC... I doubt that Bioware is able to do something here as EA is responsible for distribution and marketing...

But I would love to hear the reasons for this decision.

Just got an e-mail reply from Gamestop UK saying that the collectors edition will not be available for the PC in UK. I don't know how reliable their customer service is but that is directly from Gamestop.

I don't see the difference between selling a collector's edition with a console game in it or selling the exact same box of stuff with a PC game in it instead. The steel case is the same size, the disks are the same size. If they can sell 4 different console versions, surely they can sell a PC edition.

The mind boggles as to why it isn't possible for them to sell a PC edition in the UK. I blame UKIP.
