Just got an e-mail reply from Gamestop UK saying that the collectors edition will not be available for the PC in UK. I don't know how reliable their customer service is but that is directly from Gamestop.

Gamestop Germany gave the same answer to that question. I still think that they just don't know it better. And Bioware has stated that they are about to fix it.

I fear that EA somehow decided that Europe won't get a PC collector's edition as well as no physical Deluxe Edition for PC... I doubt that Bioware is able to do something here as EA is responsible for distribution and marketing...
But I would love to hear the reasons for this decision.

That makes me a little anxious.....

Well Dev's said they are working on the issue and there should be a solution soon. But to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if Europe gets the short end yet again. Bioware Bazaar, ME DLC for Eastern Europe, ME3 CE in UK and now this. *sigh*

It'll become available at some point more than likely, it always does unfortunately

Wow...so still no answer from Bioware?
I mean really, what are they thinking? There are many, MANY PC gamers who want to buy the CE version (me included) why would Bioware & EA not want to earn that money? It is so disrespectful to their fans, really.

I hope we at least get an answer soon...

I aways buy the CE of games I love and I really want one from my favorite game series, it's so damn unfair.

Add me to the list, I'm a PC gamer, DA is one of the few games I would buy a collector's edition for without hesitation... Since I live in the UK I'm screwed.

I really don't understand why you are blaming BioWare for Gamestop's policies. Its not like BioWare made a list indicating what countries were to get access to the Inquisitor's Edition or not.

It is still Bioware's responsibility to clear up the confusion. They have said themselves when they announced it that it is available on ALL platforms. Unfortunately most of Europe somehow got shafted for some reason. After that was brought up on devs twitter's last week they said it's important to them and they will look into it and provide a solution which was to come soon. That was all said last week and there is no information since then. I think the biggest issue is the lack of any sort of information. I would appreciate if they gave us an update, even if it's just ''We're still working out the issues'' or ''Sorry most of Europe won't be getting CE'' so that people don't have to keep checking the gamestop website and this thread everyday just to make sure they can pre order their game before it gets sold out and put on eBay for ridiculous money.

So I just received an email from game stop UK also,

"Hi

This version of the game will not be available unfortunately & we will only be retailing the console version of this game.

Apologies for any inconvenience"

....DAMN IT!

I've been off the forums for most of this week while trying to get my Origin and DA2 saves ready for Inquisition, pop back in find that absolutely nothing's been done in the meantime? That's... a little disappointing, if I have to be honest!

I'm willing to give Bioware the benefit of the doubt and say that this failure of communication on Gamestop's end and that they're already working hard to fix it, but still, it would be nice to give us PC players in the UK and Europe some heads up of how it's going?

We're only complaining because we desperately want to buy it!

If it were me, I'd be half tempted to spam customer services with a link to where Bioware said they wanted all versions available in Europe, and politely inform them that at the moment, their inability to check their damned email is losing them out on quite a bit of money... :pinched:

I was wondering about this. Let's say I am only interested in the soundtrack and a mount, e.g. the unicorn. Would it be possible to buy the standard edition for PC and the digital bonus content later separately?

Right in the UK the DE is exclusive to GAME, while in most other countries (as far as I know) it's exclusive to Amazon. And I have never heard of any major shipping problems with them.

GAME is horribly unreliable.

I preordered two Xbox One launch titles from them and they hadn't even shipped them as of launch day! I ended up cancelling and going to their actual store, where to add insult upon injury I paid £10 more per game, because of that strange UK phenomenon of the same store charging more in-store that HMV also suffers from.

I don't know who made the decision, Bioware, EA, GameStop, two of them or all of them - but it is Bioware who has spoken out about it and it is Bioware who is ultimately responsible for the game and their fans. If a decision has been made than there is nothing to do - I would still complain and express my huge disappointment but ultimately what's done is done.
I find it insulting that they (whoever made this decision) rules us PC gamers out, just like that. It makes me feel less worth in some way. I could have accepted the limited edition thing - only 100 of the CE in each country or something. But not a single one? I figure it has something to do with the next gen thing...but why not make 2 or 3 different versions? One consol version (or one PS4 and one Xbox One) and one PC version or something.

And currently, why no information? Like someone said in a comment above - even if they only wrote "we are still working on it" than at least it would seem like they care.

Why completely ignore a third of the gamers (if not more, I am under the impression that DA:O, Awakening and DA2 sold best on PC? Correct me if I am wrong) , first during the development of CE and now when we have questions and opions about it.

I'm not sure about the numbers, but even if the PC editions sold either the same or slightly below those of other consoles, the sheer size of the modding community out there for the PC editions of both DAO and DA2 should shows how popular the games still are, despite the first game being out for nearly five years.

It always irks me to see PC users get utterly shafted as companies try to push consoles on us, with the media insisting that the PC era is "over". And yet talking to any gamer can tell that you that the demand for PC editions is as strong as it ever has been, if not more so, and the sales figures probably reflect that?!

As a console and pc gamer I agree that pc is still very strong for games I personally love to play games on pc. I like to mod my games, its fun. That's why I am going to buy DA:I on both PS4 and PC.

Am I the only one who misses the days of "Collector's Editions" just having some minor "bonuses" instead of all of this over the top stuff? I don't really need *insert items here* with my game...

I'm not a collector, so this stuff doesn't typically appeal to me.  But I know some people that are.  I share an office with two people who got googly eyes when they saw our own collector's edition.  One guy bought the Titanfall one with the huge Titan statue.

So for me it's more of a product built for those people.

I hate to point it out but you know there's no save import to Inquisition, currently? World states are re-created using the Keep.

(Not sure if I'm misinterpreting that, so sorry if that comes across as patronising.)

And yeah, it's... not ideal that people are getting emails from retailers when it seems the developer/publisher hasn't made an official statement yet. It'd be nice to get the final word from Bioware on what is happening, and what they plan to do about it.

I'm really disappointed that there's been no word from  BW about whether this is ever going to be resolved.

I went ahead and pre-ordered CE for the 360, hoping to cancel when PC edition came available.  I will just play on the 360 if no PC edition appears.  There's no way I'll bother to make my own by buying the PC edition separately, and I'll not be moving to the next gen any time soon so I'll just make do with lesser graphics and I'm sure it will be fine.

Don't worry, it didn't come across that way. The last I heard it was only for consoles that were unable to import and we didn't know the status of the PC version? Has it been confirmed that we can't import PC saves or have to use the Keep?

And part of why I like CE or DE is because I'm a sucker for extra DLC. Even if I don't use it, I like having the option.

The last thing I heard was that its going to be everyone can import (including across different platforms) or there won't be an import.

For the love of Andraste, please never do an "online only" pre-order Collector's Edition again.  I just spent a week trying to resolve an ordering issue on Game Stop's website.  And from what I'm reading, other people are having an even worse time trying to pre-order.  As a huge fan of the series, I want to give you my money, but I don't enjoy jumping through 87 flaming hoops in order to do so.

Has anyone had luck pre-ordering this in-store?

I stopped by the GameStop I usually frequent and my friend who is a manager there was only able to pull up the Deluxe edition.  (Live in the US btw)

Nevermind.  If it's online only I'm not bothering with it.  Paying $169 is too high.  Only way I'd do it is in-store with the pre-order reserve so I could pay it off gradually before the release date.

Still nothing? I am worried... It seems that the problem is bigger than we (and maybe even Bioware) thought... :(
