And yet, physical sales of PC titles is way down, but digital sales are up. The reason mostly is due to distribution services offering, frankly, cheaper deals overall for digital copies of the games themselves.

The music industry has shown a bit of durability that the gaming industry does not really have, namely because of convenience and the fact that the clientele are very tech savy to recognize the relative easy of downloading vs physical representation. Why lug a disk for a car radio when you can plug n a USB? You get more songs that way and its automatic shuffle.

Digital distribution is going to be the norm for both PC and console in the future, while physical disks, if any exist, will be a collectors item at best. In regards to super collector editions like this one, it might become a novelty that's going to be in very limited quantities, which is probably why were seeing the lack of physical copies of this edition overseas

That might be true for PC gaming, but with the reaction to Microsoft's XB1 announcement I can't see the console market moving quickly to digital media, its taken a decade to get to this point and anyone I know personally that is moving to a digital purchases for their games are moving to PC gaming over consoles while the people I know that own consoles are buying physical copies.

Well, I did say it would take another decade...

I figure one, maybe two generations from now consoles will be digital download heavy. But this is really a discussion for another day. We shall see in the end.

You think people that use computers are less tech savvy?

A song maxes out at around 10MB, some games top out at 10GB, not everyone has a fast connection. You can stream a song, you can't stream games yet. You can make multiple copies of songs, you can't do that with games. You can fit 1000s of songs on a USB stick you might fit 2 or 3 games (and their save games). You don't need an online server connection to play your songs, game servers shut down all the time.

I don't doubt the games industry would love to move to a digital model - they get all the benefits, consumers get none. The technology may even make it a palatable prospect in the future for gamers, but right now - it's a pipe dream.

Haven't you heard of Playsttion Now? It's a streaming service for Playstation games that will be out later this summer.

EDIT: The following link from GameStop Italy (I also checked Gamestop DE out of interest, but nothing there yet) gives a link to "upgrade" from the standard to the Inquisitor's Edition when you click on the page for the PC version -  http://www.gamestop....age+inquisition

Anyone still wondering about the DAI Inquisitor's Edition for PC -

@Lion_Martinez
If you've been wondering about DAI Inquisitior's Edition (collector's) for PC; it should now be in stock for pre-order. Hit up GameStop!
27/05/2014 12:52

FYI Lion Martinez is the Social Marketing Exec for Nordic regiions at Bioware/EA; so I'm assuming he means the edition should now show up on EU GameStop sites.

Following the twitter conversation it seems like the PC version should now be available globally including the UK/EU. However it doesn't appear on the UK gamestop site yet. He suggested calling gamestop directly to ask them, but it should be up this week. If anyone has any updates on this that would be great.

The italian CE has been up for some time now. But that's the only one in EU.

Still nothing in Germany, either :(

I fear us German speaking folk will have two wait some time longer, with the holiday tomorrow a lot of office folk will only be back on Monday.

Not that it matters much to me. Gamestop.at does not allow online orders and gamestop.de does not ship to Austria, so I guess all I can do is racing to a nearby store on Friday and hope that there are still orders possible.

Actually it will stream PS1, PS2, PS3 and some not all PS4 games. so Yes 2 gens ago thru this newest gen.

The majority of the library will be PS3, or last gen.

Information flow seems to be a little slow, called the local Gamestop office today still the answer as before.
There will be no Inquisitors edition to PC in Europe.

It probably would be faster if there wasn't two multi-national companies that operate in different time zones at the center of the resolution.

I really hope it gets fixed quickly. I really, really want the CE... normally I just buy the cheapest version of a PC game because the contents of the CE usually doesn't interest me enough to buy it when they're so expensive. However, this time I'm really want it...

Gamestop doesn't have a webshop in Sweden so if I want to pre-order I have to physically go to a store and pre-order it - or t leat that's the impression I got from Gamestop when I e-mailed them (though they said they wouldn't be selling a PC version of the CE). This wouldn't be an issue normally since there is a gamestop shop in the city I live in. However, I usually go home over the summer in order to save money. I ordered my ticket weeks ago (long before I knew it would be so difficult to pre-order) and I'm leaving Friday next week after my last test... and there is no gamestop shop in my hometown. I won't go back until school starts again in the autumn, at which point it'll probably be too late. The trip takes three hours or more (depending on the train and bus schedules) one way and I can't justify the cost of travelling back and forth just to order the collector's edition even though I really want it.

Does anyone living in Sweden know if it's possible to pre-order the collector's edition by phone?

The thing about the music industry is, that there is a difference about your equipment. There are still lots of bands that sell their albums on vinyl because there are enough people who buy it (Franz Ferdinand for example).

With games, in the end it doesn't matter. The game you play doesn't change whether it comes from a disc or from a download. With music, there is a difference, especially when considering most stores still use the same old MP3 format which has always been shitty...

It's the plain PC edition, as it was available since the Inquisitor Edition was out.. Following the posts I was expecting the Deluxe Edition for PC while there is still none.. That's utter crap..

It's Friday already and there is nothing yet? Well this likely means the twitter stuff from Lion_Martinez is not relevant anymore since the CE for PC in EU won't be appearing this week at all. Unless gamestop updates their systems during the weekend (very unlikely).

I got an answer from Gamestop.de this morning per email and they still say that 'presumably there will be no CE for PC' So they obviously still don't know anything.

Gamestop.at writes:

Anybody else feeling that exclusive deals are called that, because a lot of buyers get excluded ?

If we don´t hear anything else till Monday I´ll give up and get my Version from Origin.

Presumebly because it will be leftovers from the american continent and it seems there is a fat chance at that occuring!!!  Europe is nothing more than a bonus sell, the dominant market is the american continent and so **** the rest of the world.  It is not EA only all the tripple A publishers do that.  In europe we pay way more for degraded stuff even if we can get a collectors item.  Allways the same story and yes frustrating.

The various webshops seem to be lagging behind. I just came from my local Gamestop in Denmark and the clerk has it in his system now, and he was able to take the order. So it is happening, you may just have to actually go to the shops.

They just updated the Swedish website and they're supposed to have the PC CE now, too. I'm not sure if I really believe it until I go to Gamestop and pre-order it tomorrow.

Got a call from Gamestop (Norway) informing me that they have the collector's edition for PC now, so had them switch my pre-order from the xbox360 version (which I was going to give to my girlfriend, sans the collector's stuff, if no PC version came) to the PC version. According to the norwegian website, which has been updated to include the PC version, this edition also includes the deluxe stuff.
