I wonder if EA did that with Dragon Age: Inquisition on Origin how upset people would be since I believe CD Projekt Red owns GOG?

Then that would be the version DA:I I'd pick up. Saving money rarely upsets me.

Despite GOG's loyalty discount, I did preorder the TW3 CE. It looks great, has a lower price than DA:I IE and best of all, it's actually frigging available.

DA:I I will most likely buy on Origin.

pre-ordered TW3 CE (for PC)... easy and painless, with 24 hrs after it was announced.

And DAI CE is still not available in my country, and no word at all from EA/Bioware on whether this will change.

Looks like I will not be buying DAI at all. Great way to lose customers!

Again, I'm another who purchased the Witcher CE from Amazon on my platform of choice the day it was announced. For shame Bioware.

It really is a complete shamble. Recent Bioware Titles are the only games I've ever had issues getting a collectors edition on my platform of choice, and it really shouldn't be that difficult.

Were it a game I wasn't following so closely or a series I wasn't so attached to I would have just given up buying the game at all out of frustration by now.

Like Mass Effect 3 I'll almost certainly just end up buying the standard edition a few weeks before release now, and I'm not sure it'll be worth buying whatever day 1 DLC they have either.

What a fantastic job they have doing of souring what was an otherwise exciting build up to a fun looking game.

I am just wondering how any company can really find the "good spot" for a collector's edition for no matter what it seems BioWare does with the ones they make there is always a problem.  Dragon Age 2 was purely digital, Mass Effect 3 had "poor" physical items (I remember the complaints about the size of the lithograph), and now Dragon Age: Inquisition with a limited supply.  Which then to me leads to the question of what is causing the limited supply, is it just because they decided to limit the number like Blizzard has or because they can only produce so much of some of the content?

Oddly I just found out that GTAV might have had similar issues for its collector's edition was a Gamestop exclusive.

Being honest and upfront with your customers from the start would be the starting point. The sale of the CE in Europe has been an utter mess. Britain has 4 CE's for all the consoles but no PC edition. Same for Germany I believe. Italy has CE's going up on the site only to be withdrawn a day later. Scandanavia has everything whilst the Benelux countries have nothing.

As a Brit I can see no reason why they are selling 4 CE's for the 2 current gen consoles, the 2 obsolete consoles, but can't supply the same stuff for PC? Is the PC game coming on 5 1/4" floppies?

The question I have with that issue is that BioWare/EA making that decision or Gamestop? For BioWare/EA could be supplying an equal number of the game versions to Gamestop they just decided to keep the PC version away from the UK/Europe market.

So there is still no CE for PC in the UK? How long has it been now? This is rather disappointing. Anyone with twitter up for asking the devs on when there will be more info?

Just preordered TW3 CE, it was ready and available to preorder in the UK in less than 24 hours after it's announcement ... *sigh*

We probably won't get it at all, it seems like a much bigger issue.

I also feel like they told us way too late. For a run this limited they should have told us way in advance, when it was coming so we could call  or line up at stores and stuff. By the time we knew about it the staff of the stores had already sewn up the preorders leaving one or two per store if you were lucky.

It's EA. Gamestop may be the one deciding that they're not interested in selling PC CE versions in the EU (maybe they think there's not enough demand for them), but EA is the one who gave Gamestop the worldwide exclusive, INCLUDING in countries where they are not active, and for versions that they're not selling (and Gamestop only ships inside the countries where they have retailers).

Which means people in all those other countries are unable to get ANY CE at all, and people who want a version that isn't sold by Gamestop in their country, are out of luck as well. Unless Gamestop compensated EA very handsomely for all the sales they don't get that way, this sounds like a very bad business decision to me.

Not to mention a lot of dissatisfied (potential) customers...

I don't know if Gamestop is to blame as there is also no physical Deluxe Edition for PC available in Germany and the Deluxe Edition is exclusive to Amazon...
I think the problem lies with EA who for some reason don't seem to want to sell a physical Deluxe and Collector's Edition of the game in Germany and obviously most of Europe...

Actually, considering it is "only the normal" edition of the game, the standard edition of The Witcher 3 looks far more impressive than the Inquisitors Edition. But as it seems, EA isn't interested in my money.

Too sad I've got two Collectors Editions of The Witcher 3 now, no moneyz from me EA...

I'm starting to think that BioWare and EA simply aren't bothered or interested in resolving the distribution screw-up for the PC CE and Deluxe retail versions in UK and Europe! Seeing as there are different retailers distributing in the UK (Gamestop for the CE and GAME for the Deluxe Edition) and Europe (Gamestop for the CE and Amazon for the Deluxe Edition) I find it difficult to believe that those retailers are currently unable to list only the PC versions for whatever reason, which leads me to believe that this mess is purely down to EA and BioWare!

But, no matter who is responsible for this mess, someone at BioWare and EA needs to step up and start getting this resolved ASAP to get the PC CE and Deluxe retail versions listed with their respective distributors in UK and across Europe. It would also be nice to start getting some actual feedback and updates from BioWare regarding this mess!

I do feel pretty much the same, but lost the hope they are going to solve this problem. It's been weeks since they announced the CE edition and I would think if there was only a communication problem (like they said it was) that would have been resolved in a few day's at most. I'm getting to the point where I'm starting to accept that I won't be able to get the CE at all.

Aye, it's kind of looking like I'm going to end up buying Inquisition used on principle.

Just to show what true support is for companies like CDProjekt RED when they practically nail it, I have preordered:
- The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Collector's Edition for PC
- The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt gog.com edition, so I can gift it to my brothers

And with the same money of ONE Dragon Age Inquisitor Edition I have tons of extra content and two copies of a game.

BioWare, you should just learn back from them.

DA:I? Maybe, just maybe, will end up in the Digital Deluxe or an underpriced physical version, as I have already decided who truly deserves my hard earned money.

You'd be better off with some of those key-stores on the internet, that way you can actually save money, especially if your wait a few days until after the launch...

It's weird that they exclude certain countries by giving the exclusive to Gamestop...

The content of the DAI CE and the Witcher 3 CE are about equal (the W3 is a little worse in my opinion because I have zero interest in the statue, I do want the artbook and medallion though). Ironically, I have problems ordering the Witcher 3 CE. When I go the their website and click pre-order for PC it gives me 3 options for stores in my country but when I click on any of them none have the game (the CE version at least) and only show a blank page. Is the Witcher CE already sold out?

For now, yes. I actually think TW2 had a better CE at only $120. The statue must have been expensive to produce. DA's CE is pretty good. It comes with lot of stuff. People need to realize the production and shipping of a CE is enormously expensive.

^ Especially since, I would imagine, they're producing such tiny quantities of the items. Everything would be so much more expensive to manufacture because they're so limited.

This is how you make a real collector's edition.
