For now, yes. I actually think TW2 had a better CE at only $120. The statue must have been expensive to produce. DA's CE is pretty good. It comes with lot of stuff. People need to realize the production and shipping of a CE is enormously expensive.

I actually prefer what they revealed for The Witcher 3. A proper statue that is finally worth displaying is better than a deck of cards (useless here in Italy, as you need two decks to play any of our games), a bust and those paper figures (nice at first, but pretty useless). I did use the dices, though. I much prefer to buy less items of a better quality.

I really like that CD Projekt RED always puts the physical soundtrack and a fine artbook in their CEs. They don't seem to forget the essentials.

This is how you make a real collector's edition.

What does that even mean? 'Real' like DAI's CE isn't in your opinion? Or am I misinterpreting you?

Can't agree more with what @milena87 said.

Compared to The Withcer 3 Wild Hunt Collector's Edition, it's not.

It has little goodies, at a far higher price, but nothing truly remarkable.

Besides, for PC it doesn't even include the Deluxe Edition of the game.

On the other hand, you have a STANDARD Edition (I wanted to underline that) which already gives you the following, besides the game, at the basic price:

- The Game DVDs/Bluray (platform dependant)
- An exclusive CD with the official soundtrack
- The official, developer-created "Witcher Universe - The Compendium"
- A beautiful, detailed map of the in-game world
- A set of unique Witcher 3 stickers
- A stylish, protective sleeve

As for the Collector's Edition we add other goodies on top of the Standard Edition:
- The standard edition of the game, containing: the official soundtrack, a beautiful and detailed map of the in-game world, unique stickers, and the developer-created "Witcher Universe - The Compendium"
- A giant, 33x24x26 cm, 100% hand painted, Polystone figure of Geralt of Rivia battling a Griffin
- An exclusive, collector grade Witcher medallion
- A one of a kind SteelBook ™
- A two-hundred page artbook, containing breathtaking art from the game
- Huge outer and inner Collector’s Boxes you can store your Witcher merchandise in!

Now, that's a REAL Collector's Edition! You get something truly remarkable, such as that big figure, an awesome medallion that you can wear, the artbook, the soundtrack, and all the rest!
Further to this, it costs far less than Dragon Age Inquisition one.

While I would have liked to get it, just for collection purposes, the price and the offering of DA:I Inquisitor Edition don't satisfy me (along with others) at all, considering also the spit on the face of PC users.

I hope that clears a little bit our point of view (as I guess I'm not the only one thinking that way)

You're probably right in thinking you aren't alone in considering the Witcher 3 CE better than DAI CE. I'm not one of them though. The artbook and medallion are the only reasons I was even considering buying the Witcher CE. The rest (of the CE, I'm not including standard edition things) isn't that nice. Well, to me anyway. In the end what makes a CE great depends on the person buying it so we'll have to disagree on that. Thank you for answering why you considered it better. =)

The lack of a statue or something I could have on my desk was disappointing.  Other than that I'm pretty satisfied with the DA:I CE.  I think the case for it beats just about everything in the Witcher CE.  I love the Witcher series but I'm still not walking around with that medallion hanging from my neck.

In the end it's all up what's best for you and what you look into :) and thanks for the nice answer!

After all.. if only there would have been available the Deluxe Edition of the game PC, instead of the standard one, for the Inquisitor edition, I would have even got it, but as it is now, it's a no.

Where are you getting the impression that the DA collector's edition comes with the standard version? MY CE comes with the deluxe, and everything I'VE read says that they all do. *shrug* (GameStop)

I've also preordered TW3 CE and, frankly, I'm more impressed with the DA:I CE. I ordered TW3 CE simply because the statue will go with my TW2 bust. The Tarot cards are far more interesting to me, along with the rest. I was rather disappointed when I saw the TW3 CE reveal live. Was hoping for more considering CDPR's past offerings.

I wish I had the room to display these goodies you all are buying. I like collecting things, but I just have nowhere to put them. They just go into storage.

Yes, YOUR CE comes with the Deluxe Edition, because in your country is a physical Deluxe Edition for PC available. It's not in Italy and Australia, so the CE there only comes with the Standard Version. And even if we eventually get a CE for PC in the rest of Europe, it will probably only include the Standard Version.

For me, the one thing in the DA:I CE that makes it worth purchasing this, is the chest with its lockpicks (and the map) - the tarot cards, inquisitor's badge and coins are nice, but those definitely don't make this edition worth that much to me, and I could very well do without the ink&quill, the sketchbook and the war table pieces... I'd much rather have had a physical artbook and soundtrack CD there.

Anyway, if they can only produce this chest in such tiny quantities that they can only sell 3 CE's per store in countries where you have a Gamestop, and none at all in all the other countries, then I consider that a MAJOR mistake, and they should instead have created another CE that they actually *can* mass produce in large quantities. The term "Collector's Edition" refers to the physical items that you can collect and display, even long after you've stopped playing the game itself, NOT to the scarcity of the edition.

Where did you get that impression? You don't need a physical deluxe edition for the CE. It has its own steelbook case, and almost everything in the Deluxe Edition is digital anyway, and as Mike Laidlaw confirmed, all that digital content will be included in the CE.

I pre-ordered the Collector's Edition for PC and it comes (in my Country) with the standard version of the game  :( . Considering that the deluxe contains only extra digital stuff, i hope at least to be able to upgrade it later.

What really concerns me is the content of the pre-order bonuses: on the EA page i read that every pre-ordered copy comes with weapons, armor and armored mount, but in the Dragon Age official web site it shows only weapons...any news about this?

Thanks.

It is. At least in Norway it is. I got it confirmed by the shop where I ordered my copy of DA:I CE for PC that it includes the Deluxe edition  :)

I asked about it specifically because otherwise I wouldn't buy it either and would go with Digital Deluxe instead.

Edit: Either way it's a mess! It's ridiculous that there are so many different variations all depending on, in which country you live.

I can understand limited supply but at least this limited supply should be divided and distributed equally in all countries.

Take a look at the FAQ on the official website regarding the CE.

Why is the PC version of the Inquisitor Edition less expensive in Australia?- Due to us not having the Deluxe PC Edition available in Australia at Retail, you will receive the Standard PC version in your Inquisitor Edition at a slightly lower price point. You will have the opportunity to upgrade to the additional digital content separately, when it’s available.

Well I've given up on any PC CE in the UK, so I've preordered the 360 CE. And now I have to shell out another 60 quid for the digital deluxe edition.....part of me is wondering if I shouldn't just not buy the game on principle seeing how much they're screwing us over.

I'm still baffled by the "We can't sell the Deluxe PC version in your country because.... reasons" answer they gave in the FAQ. How hard is it to make the same 3 editions of the game for all 5 formats available everywhere? And as a result, those people unfortunate enough to live somewhere that Bioware/EA don't feel deserve a physical deluxe edition consequently get a lesser Inquisitor Edition, as far as I can see anyway.

It's been 3 weeks since a couple of Bioware guys said that this was being looked into and they would get the information sorted with their retail partners, it would be nice to think that just 1 person would care about the, admittedly small minority, of PC gamers enough to find out what's going on and get back to us with an answer, even if that answer is that the PC CE won't be sold in some places much like the Deluxe won't be.

People would be pissed off for sure, but it would allow those who really want the extra stuff in the CE to decide if they want to get a console version for the box and whatnot before they're all sold out, and get a standard PC one to play later, or if they would just give up on the extra stuff and just get the game to play on release. Seriously, how hard would that be to do?

I, like others here, have gone for The Witcher 3 CE, and now won't even be getting DA:I on launch. It's irrelevant in the bigger scheme of things as I'm just 1 person, but it's all I can do to show my displeasure at how the whole thing has been handled.

Agreed the Witcher 3 CE looked so much more incredible. Sadly, it was sold out in matter of minutes everywhere (and I missed it :( ), so I guess I will be getting my Witcher 3 from GOG.com.

As for DA:I, I seriously hope EA manages to get its head out of its arse and release physical Deluxe Edition worldwide. I really want to have the box, just like all other Dragon Ages, not just Origin Code.

Damn, that s*cks even more. You cannot get additional DIGITAL content in your CE because there's no physical box being offered separately in stores for that digital content? It's just a slip of paper with some codes, for Pete's sake!

This whole release is one big marketing disaster. If I even dreamt up something like this in my company, I'd be out on the street looking for a new job before the end of the day.

Well, what about most of Europe, where the PC-CE isn't available at all?! And keep in mind, that even if they made the PC-CE cheaper over here, we do still pay 60$ more than the guys on the other side of the pond just because (additionally we also get the game two days later).

And here comes the CE of The Witcher 3 into play: There actually is a price difference that makes it more realistic. The resulting difference comes from VAT and stuff, but it actually is fair! Something you can't say of the pricing of the Dragon Age-CE.

And the game comes out at the same date, same time everywhere on this planet. Which again shows that the "It's for bussinez reasons!!!"-bollocks is nothing more but bollocks.

Perhaps I can't see EAs humour in this, but IMO this is nothing but clear customer prioritisation which doesn't even make sense considering there are more potential customers living in the EU than in all other western countries combined.

:P  Love the bollocks... You're English I presume? I am too and I agree bollocks squared...

I'm a PC gamer and earlier today my finger was hovering over the Origin digital deluxe edition... Why didn't I press it? Because I would dearly like a physical edition and if the deluxe were available with the CE for PC I might even go for that... Which means Bioware would get double the money from me... Surely that is not insignificant?

Well, I started considering ordering the physical deluxe copy from Amazon.com. It will arrive at the same day as it would release in EU, and the cost difference does not seem that large, even with shipping, taxes and other bollocks...

Seriously, where is that tax-free trade with US our EU representatives keep yammering about?

Wait you can get the collectors edition in Norway?

Yes, you can. I actually asked about the Deluxe Edition to begin with because I didn't think they would have any CE and the clerk was like "oh, you'll need to order the Collector's Edition if you want a physical copy of the Deluxe Edition" and I was like "Wait, what? You mean you have Collector's Edition for PC available? Then the clerk said "Sure we do! You want one?" It was pretty much "shut up and take my money" from there on  ;) So yeah, the Collector's Edition of PC version (including Deluxe content) is available in Norway. At least it was until last week. That's when I ordered mine. Don't know how many of those are left...
