So, what do we have now.

No CE for PC in most of Europe (and in some countries it's not available at all).

No deluxe edition for PC in Europe.

No physical whatever edition for PC in Europe (and was never planned).

First DLC is timely exclusive to Xbox-one. (That's temporary, but still.)

Peachy. The game is not out yet, but already it's a mess.

How lovely - while I would amend it slightly to "no anything more than the standard physical edition". It's possible to get that for the PC, just smeg all else.

What do you mean? In all fairness, Gamestop has stores in Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Italy, Ireland, Norway, Austria, Portugal, Sweden, Spain and the UK. I wouldn't call that "almost no distrbutuion outside of the american continent". But yeah, it sucks that they won't ship to other countries, for instance from Germany to the Netherlands. However, having Gamestop stores in all of these countries doesn't matter since GS won't sell the PC Collector's Edition anyway.

Minor correction - Gamestop has a UK web presence, just no UK stores.

That's not true. In half of these countries GS does sell the CE for PC. so there are two selections. First for all players, because the CE is only available in 16 countries total. And second for PC players, because that one is only available in half those countries..

Oh and btw in scandinavia it's available for a few weeks now. Why could they solve the problem in time, but not the rest?

@ Caja. I meant the only way in my country to buy the PC game is digital download for standart edition. That's all. You can only buy deluxe through Origin. While both standart and deluxe version are available for all consoles.

Thanks for the clarification. It's the same in my country.

Thanks, I was mislead then. However, this confuses me even more. LOL.

I think one has to understand that the availability is limited, and that some people who want it, won't be able to get it. It's even implied in the name: "Collectors Edition". Also, it might do well to consider that we do not really know how desirable DA:I will really be, as a game, when it's released. It would be pretty embarrassing to stand kneedeep in unsellable (and expensive to produce) "Collectors Ediditions" if the game then tanks horribly.

The unfortunate element in this situation is that it seems the CE has been made available only to select cathegory of customers from the start.

That is sad. I can understand if a sales channel is given exclusive rights, if they themselves are producing the CE. The way this deal is put together, that does not appear obvious.

First, please be aware that the term "Collector's Edition" for this kind of games does not refer to the extremely limited availability. It refers to the fact that there are collectible items in this edition, that will retain their collector's value long after people have stopped playing the game itself.

Second, pre-orders are a very good way to measure how desirable a game is. Based on the amount of pre-orders, they can then order more of a product to be produced before release date (they still have plenty of time for that). Limiting (in advance) pre-orders to only 2 or 3 per store, in places where they have a Gamestop, and none in places where they have no Gamestop - and giving most of Europe no PC versions - is a very bad start.

If there is some part of the CE (maybe the chest?) that can not be produced in large enough quantities before release date, they they should have chosen a different CE altogether (one that they CAN supply in large enough quantities to all people).

But given that that decision has already been made and there's no turning back now - in this case, I would be okay with it if I could order the CE, then get the digital codes on release date, and the actual CE box some time after that (I could live with getting the box contents a month later, if that's the time it takes them to produce enough extra copies).

But right now, we can't even ORDER the CE for PC (even if I were in an EU country that has a Gamestop, I still couldn't order one, as Gamestop here doesn't sell them).

That is incorrect.

Digital Deluxe Edition on PC is available for EU via Origin.

Physical Deluxe Edition on PC for EU, that seems to be a problem, which they are (apparently) trying to solve.

So... it's official now that all places who not got a PC-Collector's Edition are somehow on the "Blacklist" for getting one?

Or is it more like a "For now they don't get a PC-CE, but maybe later they get one"? :/

Despite the price, it's one of the CE where I actually really thought about buying it (since I like the Dragon Age Franchise), not even given the choice if I can get it or not (without trying to import if from somewhere else) feels... just wrong. Like being "less worth than other countries".

If you are in a country that has GameStop, you can probably still get it. If not, you are screwed, because that version in GameStop exclusive (for some strange reason). Getting Deluxe edition is possible for everyone in Digital form. In physical form, there are some problems in getting it to EU, but can probably be bypassed by having it shipped from Amazon.com (or similar store)

Actually (see the twitter response from Mark Darrah on the previous page) it's more like "If you are in a country where you can already order it right now, then you're lucky. If not (regardless if there's a Gamestop in your country or not), then you're most likely screwed, because by the time they have come to an agreement on how to handle this, there will be no more CE boxes left to put those PC versions in".

I'm seriously mad because of this f**k up and screw those Europeans (and others who don't have a gamestop and/or no access to all versions of the game). EA and Bioware are no newbies, so how on earth can they 'forget' about something like this?

'You're not worthy of our CE edition, and we don't want your money... here, buy a normal version instead'. I was going to buy the CE blindly anyway, as I simply love the DA games and am really excited for DA:I. This feels like the rudest turn down... 'Yeah whatever, I don't care about you, at all... move to a normal country already... oh, and get on a console, you idiot.'

I've just ordered the physical PC deluxe edition from amazon. com (I'm a UK resident)!

I would too if I could. However for such a powerful company like Amazon, their payment options are pretty limited (no wire transfer/Ideal, and no PayPal). I don't have a credit card...

If only it were that simple and Amazon.com sold the CE for PC.... no, they had to give the exclusive rights for that to Gamestop, who doesn't ship across the border.

It's a truly shitty situation for us EU fans and I'm lucky I have the means to do what I did... It ain't fair on the rest of ya!

But I saw the demo and got fed up of faffing around. As they say.

Can't you pay via direct debit? I never ordered from Amazon.com, so I don't know.

Anyway, I would like to have the dubbed version of the game. Not sure if it will be in languages other than English if you order the game from Amazon.com. Although, I played Mass Effect in English and it wasn't as hard as I feared, so I might as well consider it.

If nothing will change about how hard is to get CE in EU and they won't try to do anything about it then I will just order Digital Deluxe Edition.

I have DA2 as UK-Import and the disc was multi-language. Also Derek Frensh said that it doesn't matter if you have a disc or not it would be Origin that decides your language (depends on your settings)

Well... okay I guess I will go with the digital deluxe edition then :/

Still a bad feeling about all this, and this feeling will get even worse when seeing all the CE in ebay after the release... for double the price.

It's not always work as that, I bought Watch Dogs from origin and after install it, everything in my game was in RU even if in application settings lang. is set to US English.

Ps. maybe its because I'm in Poland (but ... never had something like that before)

Watch_Dogs, just like many Ubisoft titles, have cocked up localization. I had to download English text files and edit several ini files and registries to activate English instead of Czech/Hungarian

@ Ashelsu:  it's not that there won't be any physical edition at all. There will be the Standard Edition for PC. I'm just saying, because I wasn't sure what you meant by "no physical whatever edition". But I agree, it's a bit of a mess.

This shouldn't even bother me, since I have an Xbox 360. I could just go and buy the DE edition for the console and be done with it. Would spare me the headache wth the system requirements, too.  But I wanted to play Inquisition on the computer since I have already got the first two DA games for PC. Besides, it is really bothering me that PC players are left out. At least, this is what it feels like to me right now. So, I guess I will just get the Standard Edition for PC then.

Well then let me set you a direct example. I'm from Slovenia. Which is a country directly next to Italy and Austria. Both have Game Stops- none of them ship it here. And even if they did...well I probably wouldn't buy it anyway - localized versions and all that, which would be, as you can imagine - at least in regards to the Collectors Editions - very unfortunate, since I have only rudimentary knowledge of Italian language, from learning Latin and almost no knowledge of German.

I'm more than a little disappointed at the situation. But I know that I have no intention on buying a digital copy from a publisher, who doesn't offer me the option to buy a physical copy of a game (even if that game is from one of my all time favorite franchises). It reminds me too much of blackmail and I refuse to play by an unfair set of rules. So no. I won't be buying it. However I am still fervently hoping that this issue can and will be resolved in a manner that is favorable for all of us - currently excluded customers...or else I'll need to go through a long mourning phase. :crying: Ugh...I really want this game. Please Bioware! Someone swoop in and save the day.
